Poor product - not really hearing impaired friendly.

published

This is a very disappointing telephone. My elderly parents insist that when using hearing aids this phone was worse than their existing telephone. I did everything I could to make it better and it just was no good. It was difficult to use for sight impaired as well. The message bank system was complex to use. I would not recommend this phone for the very elderly.

Purchased in April 2017 at On line.

Serves my purpose but too complicated.

published

Too many options provided on the phone. Have to consult the User Manual each time to alter settings or to establish what button icons do. Should be less complicated as its impossible to remember all the icons.

excellent product for the elderly

published

Purchased for elderly parent and found to be very useful. Not overly complicated with good 'large' visibility. Downside is main phone connection cables become loose easily; perhaps stronger hardware in the attachement.

Good, reliable phones

published

Good, reliable phones - probably outdated - but all I need out here in the bush where we don't have mobile coverage. One suggestion - make it easier to hang up and prevent the handset falling by desinging the base to be easier to get the handset onto when you hang up. Otherwise I love them.

Just what we needed

published

Bought this for an elderly parent with hearing loss
It's just what the doctor ordered
Very happy all round good product
Only downside is the boost is manual would've been better if it came on automatically but this is a very minor issue

Purchased in May 2019.

Better than anything else I have found

published

Well designed phone without too many of the extras which confuse elderly people. Good visible system for increasing handset volume. Dial for this could have been larger but much better than more common slide controls on the bottom side edge.

Purchased for A$69.99.

Fantastic and so easy to use

published

I bought this for my 90 year old parents when the were living with me. They have found it easy to use and it was very manageable and could hear extremely well because of this phone.

Purchased in November 2018 at eBay for A$169.00.

Phone that plays well with digital hearing aids

published

This phone is a good phone for hearing impaired people, though the buttons are unnecessarily large. Not all hearing impaired people are visually impaired as well, there should be a variety of styles available. The boost button does make the voice a little blurry and a little too loud - it would be better to have a volume adjustment wheel you could turn to set it to a volume of choice and comfort. All in all though, a good phone.

It works very well for us.

There is only one aspect that I would have liked to be included in this phone and that is the ability to bar nuisance or scam phone numbers. Everything else works so well. No problem.
Can't remember how long ago I bought it

Certainly helps folk with hearing difficulties

Good combination of phones , could perhaps be a little bit more user friendly but are designed for a purpose. The volume boost certainly helps as does the hands free voice clarity.

Very good product

published

An excellent product. The base station hang up is a little finicky and can result in the phone not hanging up properly. Solution provided by oricom was to put a bit of blue tack on the hang up hook. A larger phone book storage would also improve the usability.

Purchased in May 2018.

Hi Pam
I just press the green phone symbol button on the top left of the handset. I press it twice to access the speaker and thus hands free. Hope this helps. Chris

Hi Pam, as per the User Guide, lift the handset off the charger base (if “Auto Talk” is set to ON, see page 49 of UG)
and speak into the phone or, if the handset is off the charger base (or “Auto Talk” is set to OFF, see page 49), press the Green Phone symbol as Chris suggests. All the best, Oricom.
