I bought a gift for a friend through their website.I ordered and emailed the customer the same day as i just need to add a letter to the shipping address ( not changing the address at all )
But i was told they cant add letter “C” to the house number even on the same day i just placed the order? Poor excuse and reasoning. It has not even been posted as i contacted them as soon as i purchased the item as a present for a friend.
Apparently i have to cancel the order to be able to do the additional letter to the shipping address. Complete joke of a company. Never again.
Oroton - Zipper Lever - Breakdown before the Zipper (Under Designed)
My partner brought this Oroton - Ebony Briefcase in black -Leather for $370.00 on sale at Oroton DFO outlet - Homebush Sydney. It was used sparingly for few years and the Metal Zipper Lever Broke down. Possibly the Zipper Lever is Under Designed or defectively manufactured.
Any such costly product Zipper Lever shall not broke down after sparingly used over few years. Leather Bags are purchased to last longer - and any such manufacturer add enough "Factor of Safety" during design so that they do not break down before the Zipper or the Bag itself.
Oroton refused to accept their responsibility and to refer to the technical team to review then design.
Return policy/ sign up trap
I purchased something online and I signed up to get $30 off the product. I received my item and it wasnt right for me so went to the store to return it. I was told because I had got a $30 OFF the full price it was considered a sale item therefore the only option given was a store credit.
My point is what company nowadays refuse to refund you? We are in the 21st century, Even luxury brands refund you.
I really liked some of the stuff they do but now after this experience I won't
buy again until they change the return policy.
I purchased the neoprene backpack from the Oroton store in Birkenhead Point. Two days later I used it for travelling to work for the first time and it kept on sliding off my shoulders. I own a number of backpacks and have never experienced this issue. The backstraps on the bag are too wide and just continue to fall off the shoulders. I asked a friend to try it out for a week and she had the same issue. If there was testing done, this would have been the first thing that should have been picked up. Secondly, the straps can't be adjusted for a smaller fit.
Amazed that you can have an order “confirmed” and 5 days later be told that even though the stock was available at the time of online purchase the warehouse staff have been unable to locate items to fulfill the order. And it’s going to take a further 3 to 5 days for money to be refunded. Someone needs to sort out their stock-tracking systems.
Delivery returned to sender
Purchased a few items online, emailed from Oroton a week later that pracel left warehouse on 14 July 2018.
Keep tracking DHL site, Oroton forgot to put my parcel locker numbers on the delivery address and sent pacel to the post office delivery centre. It is non deliverable and return to sender. Got in touch with Customer servcie team and provided a work address for delivery. DHL resent the delivery back to the post office again and the result is returned to sender. Emailed Oroton customer service and was told it may take 10 days for the parc...
Received with broken bolts where strap holds in
Purchased the Alpine Hobo bag & when received unable to use. The strap holds in place by a gold bolt/screw which does not do it's job. The bolt will not hold the screw in place, hence strap cannot be put onto bag. So disappointed as a first timer buying Oroton. Endless online chats & endless emails up to 6 weeks or so. They advised that they do not sell parts or fix bags & to return for inspection to a store. I'm in Darwin, therefore not possible. Alternative option is to send bag back at my own risk to see if it gets approved for a replacement...& if the same bag is still available that is. To me, the bag seemed as a seconds. Purchased off the online store/outlet. Still paid just under $300. Great disappointment as I love the bag itself, but silly for strap not to be sewn in rather than bolts holding strap in.
Poor customer service
UPDATE: I have been contacted by the manager and had this issue resolved. I am very happy with my new bag and with the effort Oroton made to make amends.
Their website malfunctioned during a sale so I was unable to check out and missed the sale deadline (it was a weekend and I couldn't contact them). It was a saving of $40 off a bag that cost over $200. When I emailed customer service on Monday morning asking for an exception they pasted their terms and conditions and said they wouldn't help me out. It was a great opportunity for some good customer service and throw me a fish, but they chose not to. So now I'm not buying the bag and they get zero dollars out of me.
Bad customer service.
Customer service when I bought the wallet was great, but then I realised after taking it home that the beads used to keep the wallet dry had imprinted into the leather due to packing and left a large dent that had stretched the leather. I took it back to get exchanged and they swapped it for me, no smiles this time. This swapped one's leather ended up having a large scratch up the front so I took it back again, they swapped it for me and I ended up with the original one again that I had brought back because of the dents. Ended up just returning the product.
Bag is damaged
I received a tote bag for Xmas it’s not being us d everyday maybe only once a week so it hasn’t had much use at all. Yesterday I noticed that the leather is peeling off. Now after reading the reviews I’m not sure that the company is going to care.
Online store and stock issues
Our orders were unfulfilled due to poor integration between online store and warehouse stock. Items were refunded but disappointing that majority of Australian retailers are falling behind overseas competitors in terms of online retail experience.
Update: Oroton's CEO offer his apology for the current issues with their warehouse and they are in the process of fixing these issues. Upgrading review for the personal touch from the management.
Poor product quality & appalling customer service
Clip on ladies wallet broke after only a couple of months - clearly faulty but they refused to replace it because it was on sale when purchased. Wanted to replace it with a cheaper, different style which I didn't like. After long battle I got a refund & replaced it with an Annapelle which has been great. I used to love Oroton products but never again!
Family of 5 will NEVER BUY OROTON AGAIN
I have been a very loyal customer for 24 years my adult daughters now also. We have spent $1000s with your company. NEVER AGAIN when your customer service won't honour a single faulty zip on an as new purse SHAME - OROTON. You've lost 5 of us over a zip!!! Terrible reviews, results in me purchasing from Coach
I bought a handbag in early 2016 that I really liked, and I was thinking of purchasing another, but after reading terrible reviews about the return policy even fro defective goods, I decided to go with Coach. Coach also have beautiful handbags, and have a superb return policy... In addition, they ship for free and will even pay for the return for an unused bag if you have a change of mind. Sorry Oroton, but poor customer service costs you more customers than those you let down.
overprice for such quality
I purchased a handbag at oroton store. However, i found out some default in stitching so I brought it back just hope they can do the exchange. I was told : "that's the Way It should be" in an unfriendly way. I think their handbag is not cheap for such quality. Bad customer service as well.
Oroton have no repair department why not?

The bag is fine except for this. Orotons bags are expensive so why no back up? Don't they care about their customers. This will be my last Oroton purchase.
Absolutely Disgusting Customer Service!
My family and myself have been longtime customers of Oroton for many many years so you can imagine the disappointment when you are faced with such appaling customer service from one of your favourite stores which you are extremely loyal to, and this has no been a one time thing but on going. Don't feel comfortable in their stores
I'm a Uni student but I am willing to save up for a good quality bag. I visited oroton at Macquarie this week to have a look for a new bag and was asked by the sales lady if I need any help. I explained that I was only browsing today & if I do really like something I would come in at a later date to see if the contents would fit in the purse. She told me that was reasonable but pushed that the sale ended today for a good 5 minutes. I walked out of there and I don't think I'll walk back in.
Misleading sender info?
I recently purchased a sunglasses from Oroton. Luckily it was purchased while on sale as the quality was not how it used to be. Worse of all, the invoice stated package sent from Keilor Park, Victory Park 3042. However, the package was sent from Hong Kong via DHL. This explains the typo on the address (invoice also printed in Hong Kong).
Why can't Oroton be upfront and state that the goods will be sent from Hong Kong? Why try to deceive us by misleading us with the AUS address? Not happy about that and felt cheated. If I want to purchase fro...m Hong Kong, why would I buy from Oroton. Felt that my details has been compromised. I'm always worried purchasing items from overseas location. You just never know. Honestly, I would have much preferred if it was shipped from AUS at least this creates jobs in Aus. Well, Oroton could at least be upfront about it. In another note, the last few bags I purchased, after months of use, the leather straps starts to split apart and also tearing from where the strap is connected to the bag. Luckily, I did not pay full price for most of my Oroton bags. Definitely not worth its original price. I've told myself, no more Oroton!
For years I only ever bought Oroton handbags. But the last bag I bought from Oroton was poorly made for the price paid. The handbag doesn't have any support and when you put it down it won't stand up on it's own. I doubt it's even real leather. Oroton used to have a good name for quality leather handbags but now it seems they are always having a sale although the product prices are still too high for what's on offer. I honestly think sometimes it's better to buy a cheap fashion handbag and toss it after a season. Oroton are no longer iconic and don't last like they once did. I won't bother buying Oroton again.

Hi I’ve stored my bag in the Oroton dust bag. I went to use it and found that the bag is stuck to the dust bag I tried to get it out but my bag is all damaged. I had to peel the dust bag off it and it tore to shreds. What should I do? Can this be fixed?

Ring and ask for an exchange. If the won’t help, ask for your call to be escalated to a manager. They will eventually help, but you have to persevere. Good luck!
