Does what it promised
We bought the Newell based on a budget for an easy-to-use overnight or weekend camper . We tow it behind a V-6 Outlander and never know its there . We also ordered the plastic window covers, the mesh-style annexe flooring , carpet for inside and the trailer base ,the upmarket mattress ( a must for older backs ) , annexe walls but no front , some steps to the bed , the stone protector and a few extra camping bits and pieces . Ours came from the Victorian outlet in Kyabram only 40 kms from us . All up about $8000 registered and insured . We also ...bought a 40 lt Engel, a solar panel, and battery from the dealer who has an extensive camping shop .We were given about an hours instruction on erection and refolding and packing . Brilliant and I can do it now with my eyes shut in 10 mins . We have used ours extensively for long periods when exploring , bird watching , staying with friends, touring , it gets a workout ! Strong , simple , tonnes of storage under the bed . I throw a folding table on top and ladh it down , an extra big tarp over the lot in the summer for more shade , an Engel in the car and its camping without a tent . If I was travelling Australia I'd buy their more sophisticated model but keep this for trips up to two weeks . Its done some big storms and never leaked . The only issue I have had were the nylon woven string tiedowns for the cover which have deteriorated in the sun . I have seen a better idea and will get the dealer to make them up for me .They are tent makers too .Great people to deal with . Had a yarn and a catch-up with the owners and the dealer at the Melbourne Showgrounds this year ....good blokes !

Easy to tow camper, quick setup, great features, perfect!
Took our new newell out in anger for the first time. Two solid days of rain and no leaks. Major storm that had tents flattened and annexes on expandas tearing and the newell had no problems.
12 volt system with LEDs is great, kitchen functional although we did most cooking on the Weber.
The guys spent a couple of hours with us on pickup going through setup and pack up which was great.
We ordered the side annex walls but not front which we now need to order as we did have quite a bit of water coming into the annexe area.
After a LOT of research we are glad we settled on the outback.
Excellent reliable camper
The Outback Newell is a simple but well thought-out camper which gives us lots of pleasure. It's easy and fast to erect and fold up - we've camped with friends who have much more expensive and fancy campers and they always end up envying the features on this strong, well designed but economical camper. We love it!
Good camper at a reasonable price, with plenty of features, some minor glitches but all in all a trailer that will cope with on road touring well.
Great towing trailer, I have a 12volt battery system installed as well as a Queen size innerspring matteress, full awning with walls,it's easy to set up (First time out).
The only negative is directed to the seller, King Caravans in Hobart.
They were not one bit interested in showing us any of the workings.
Poor customer relations for Outback Campers.Small problem with the water pump comming loose from the the kitchen bench(screws pulling out).
Great Camper Trailer. Tows well. Although this on is an onroad camper it would be ok for some light off road. Quick setup and pack up. When picking up allow an hour for them to demonstrate how it all works (they gave us some great tips). We actually enjoy going away to stay in this camper. Had a tent for 4 years and only used it about ance a year. We tend to go away with this more often.
Sleep on a queen bed.
Its been a lot of cheap fun for me and my family.
Extremely well made product with the after purchase back up as well.
Easy to tow, queen sized bed, feels a lot safer than a tent.
Have fully enclosed annexand after a few years use, I just cant get it as tight as I could before. Permanent sag in annex which holds water when it rains.
