Poor customer service
I went in and found a tie that i liked. I asked the guy how much, was told $89 so I said I'd shop around. Went home and ran a search on that exact same tie online and found it for ~$36. I call them up and ask them, if i buy it online, can i come and pick it up, they said no i must go back into the store... WT actual F!
So i go back in and ask them for the tie at the cheaper price, sure enough, it was at the lower price. They made me go all the way home then come back again. Time wasters!
I thought they were better than this.
I spent alot of money on several items. The blue dress fall apart at the seam at the back in so many places. My black blazer developed holes at the shoulder blades, the same blazer in blue is pilling like a cheap piece of clothing I may have bought from Kmart! Such a shame as designs are good and this is so bad- wish i could get replacements. Blue
Synonymous with Inferior
Have been a long term Oxford customer. Bought multiple shirts and pants for work over the years, recently bought business shirts which after a few wears have torn (not even at the seams) for no reason. Spoke to them about it and nothing could be done. Have been wearing business shirts for so many years now this has never happened. All the best to all Oxford customers, you'll have more luck with Gold Lotto
After being a long term customer and member of Oxford Clothing I will NEVER buy a single thing from them again. It all started with me returning an item to the Adelaide City Store that was faulty and both the store manager and shop assistant refused to exchange it. The shoes I had purchased from the store had stitching that was coming apart and couldnt be repaired and considering I had only worn them twice I figured I had a reasonable request. After a half an hour of going backwards and forwards and sideways the shop assistant told me that the ...store had no record of my purchase so bad luck. "Are these shoes Oxford branded " I asked. "Yes " she replied. " Are they faulty" I Asked. "Yes" she replied. " OK then whats the problem???????" Arguement ensued, Shoes exchanged under sufferance and one very dissatisfied customer walked away. BUT IT GETS WORSE. A month later another pair of Oxford "QUALITY" shoes come unstuck and the soles look like planks. Rather than go to the city store following my last foray I contacted head office and advised them of my predicament. Emails flowed back and forth with photos to validate my problem provided to their staff. I the end I was advised that the "Cluster manager" for the Adelaide stores would contact me to discuss this. A week later no contact. Email back to Oxford advising no contact. Heres the reply verbatim Hi ................, I am extremely sorry that no one has been in contact with you. Please be rest assured I passed your details onto out South Australia cluster manager. I have just called him now and asked him to call you first thing this morning to have this resolved. If you would still like me to take you off the mailing list I can do this also. Once again, I do apologize for the experience you have had. Pretty good hey. Waited no contact for 2 days. Emailed back to Oxford requesting no further contact as I had no intention of wasting any more time. At least they've got that right so far !! Pathetic service and not prepared to back their product.
Suit pants ripped on bottom seam
My husband bought a pants and matching suit jacket in October 2017 from Oxford store. Hardly wore it as it was not required over the summer break. He is tall and skinny in stature. The pants split fully (20cm rip) in the bum seam when he bent over to put on his shoes. Thank goodness it happened at home and not in the work place! Store manager refusing to replace or refund fault item. Customer service in Sydney have kindly authorised new pair of pants to be sent up to store of original purchase at no cost. Faulty pants to be returned.
Disgusting behaviour from the Sale Assistant
We bought a suit from Oxfords at DFO South Wharf on Australia Day. The suit Jackets had 3 jackets of different sizes on one hanger. So to get to the right size a Jacket had to be removed to access it. So my husband found the correct size and left the other jackets on the railing and moved on to a shirt, he tried on 2 of different sizes and left one back on the railing. When my husband sent to pay for the suit he bought, [name removed] the sale assistant asked if he (my husband) would be shopping here again? Before my husband could answer [name ...removed] said 'Because in future can you make sure you hang the clothes you use back on the hangers where you got them from as it creates more work for us to do and I am too busy to do that' (Clearly not busy as he was telling his sales assistant what an ordinary day it was with not many people). Sadly this put such a damper on the shopping experience at Oxfords. [name removed] was so rude, for what does he get paid for? My husband was so shocked, he just left in disgust. Poor Customer Service indeed.
Skirts ripped straight away
I bought 2 pencil skirts for a new job. They fit so nicely initially and I was really happy with the purchase but as soon as I left the house, the skirt ripped up from the leg split. Went back home to change into the other skirt, same thing happened within 20 mins. I had to spend the entire first day of my new job with a giant rip up my leg. Was really expecting more for paying so much.
Stylish Clothing for Men and Women
Huge discount of about 60 - 70% is going on in oxford, which is one of the largest sale of the year. Almost all the products are under 60% sale. Lots of variety available to choose from. I bought a T - shirt which very comfortable and material is really nice to wear. You don't even sweat or feel hot in this summer if you are wearing that T-shirt. Valuable for money and for style.
Customer Service has no meanings to the storekeepers
Bought a leather briefcase from Oxford Shop in Doncaster Shopping Centre in Melbourne. One snap button got faulty after 2 months. Took it back to the store for exchange. The girl said that she would not be able to do so because it was more than 14 days of the purchase. She said that I needed to contact Sydney Customer Service later as they were closed at that time. I accepted the explanation but then double checked the receipt. The 14 days was for change of mind not if the item was faulty. Checked the policy on the website which was saying that...it can be exchanged or refunded at the local store if the item was faulty. I went back to the store but the girl with long black hair and the guy with shaven head gave an attitude. They even did not check their website. Contacted the Oxford Customer Service and they said that I was right and the local shop should have refunded or exchanged. Very disappointed by their customer service in that shop. It was like that they were doing me a favour selling their products!!
What is customer service???? Oxford = no idea!
Last weekend paying for a purchase at Oxford Chapel St and payment processed and received credit card receipts, all good..... THEN the assistant noticed it had not gone through on their system. Immediately was stopped from leaving with my goods, or had to pay again. The assistant agreed the credit card transaction was approved and a receipt issued but they had to get permission from the Store Manager. Via phone the Store Manager said no pay again and they would credit me if it went through twice, despite the receipt. This was nearly $600 an...d I was not paying twice. I was a previous customer with all the details on their system and they could see my contact details etc, I offered to come back if there was a problem, but no way was I going anywhere with my paid goods unless I gave them my card to charge again. Over half an hour of arguing, phone calls, Store Managers, State Manager (apparently) they managed to confirm with their bank they had my money and the only comment - "sorry, you can go now". Really??? Go I will and never return!
Started buying shirts regularly
Living in a different state, you're not really spoilt for choice... until of course this place where I have been to a few stores including their DFO oulet in Fyshwick.
Not the best quality shirts but better than average when compared to more prominent brands. The pricing as well as their marketing campaigns with sale promotions keeps their competitive advantage ahead of the competition...where their competitors seem to lack a great deal.
Poor quality - watch out for "dry clean only" pants
I bought Oxford clothing about 15 years ago, 2 jackets and a pair of work pants, the quality was excellent, I still have them today. Now it's cheap Chinese junk. Just a few months ago I bought 4 shirts and 2 pair of pants for work and the quality is poor. The shirts wrinkle really easily and the colours have noticeably faded after 8 washes, they are also hard to iron.
The pants are ok, they fit fine but you can't wash them in a machine. Not even a cold wash with slow spin. They have to be dry cleaned... I didn't realise this until I went to ...wash them and thought I better check the tags. Either way I'm going to wash them in my machine and see what happens. If I noticed that when I was buying them I would've gone elsewhere. If you have time and money to dry clean each week then go for it...!
You can really find high quality clothes there. You who are complaining don't buy online from any shop. Go in person and u find everything there, the good and not that good quality. I bought a fancy wool coat. Every one sees it is fascinated by it...you can also buy pure silk sexy dresses there. Really good quality shop with affordable prices when there are sales.

The worst shoes I have ever bought in my life
I bought a pair of black leather shoes for work. Looked good and felt great at the time of trying them on. On the very first day, I realised that the leather was rock hard which almost felt like plastic. It hurt my ankle bone. I took the shoe back to the store on the same day and guess what they wont take it back for a refund or even for a store credit as the shoes were already used. I used the shoes for 8 days thinking that it may expand and I may get used to it but, no. The lower part of my ankle bone has turned pink and it hurts like hell. Worst shoes ever. Never buy!
