Refund delays a joke
My cancelled cruise to Cairns for 6th June. P & O keep saying how sorry they are for the delay. They refuse to refund me directly stating my refund has to go back to Flight Centre. This is unacceptable. Flight Centre will be in administration shortly and then I get no money. Simply refund me my money directly now. I paid for my cruise in August 2019!!
Terrible ship, run down, dirty, smells disgusting
This would have to be the worst experience I have had. Terrible ship, dirty facilities, smell is old and musty and terrible customer service. Promises made for a refund amount which I am still chasing and being ignored.
There is no word to describe them.
We booked for a short 4 day cruise scheduled for Feb in early October through FlighCentre and paid deposit of $450. We have soon realised that we will not be allowed to travel as I'll be just over 23 weeks pregnant at the time of travel so we have requested to cancel and refund the deposit on November last week. P&O mentioned FlightCentre that they have issued cheque twice and we are still waiting for this cheque (6 months and going) that disappeared into blackhole.
P&O is on the nose, Very poor.
Our company took 13 people people living with Disabilities on a cruise in February. One of our participants is confined to a wheelchair. At the time of booking with P&O they were fully aware of these facts and we were placed in disable rooms. Come the end of the cruise the ship had to dock on the southern side of the Brisbane river at a Grain terminal. We were directed to a place in the terminal and left unaided with no transport back to the shipping terminal where we left from. It was left up to us to arrange and pay for the 2 maxi taxi's to take us back to the terminal to collect our vehicle.
Not good enough P&O. we would not recommend this shipping line for their service.

Elemis At Sea - Mind Body & Soul Therapy
My wife and I booked in to a 75 minute full body relaxation massage and various treatments on board the Pacific Dawn on 4/3/2020.
What a disaster! Taken to a room directly above or next to the ship’s engine room. Constant grinding of metal, sirens sounding, motors roaring and the constant slamming of metal? At times it was deafening in the room and a couple of times we all jumped from the crashing noises.
Not relaxing, most stressful 75 minutes.
The manager (Female polish employee) didn’t careless and acted ‘surprised’?? The two masseurs/con...
P&O Australia In General Is Pathetic
I have been cruising for a very long time now and have done over 30 cruises and P&O Australia is one of the worst companies there is... I stopped cruising with P&O Australia about 10 years ago and last year went on a 50th birthday cruise on the Pacific Aria and was pleasantly surprised and thought maybe P&O Australia had picked up their game... I am wrong... we thought we would give them another go and are going on the Pacific Explorer in about 2 weeks and so far dealing with P&O Australia is a JOKE... terrible customer service... they have mov...ed us from the front of the ship, where we booked, to the back of the ship with a bunk bed in it and wants over $600 to move us back to the front of the ship... their pathetic off-shore call center is a waste of time as well... do yourself a favour... if you are thinking about a cruise and are considering P&O Australia skip it and keep looking... EVERY other cruise line is better!
Immoral and unhelpful!
My partner booked a cruise with P&O as part of a group of travellers celebrating a birthday. Cruise booked pre-Coronavirus. After medical concerns over my partner travelling because she is considered high risk to infection(supported by medical evidence and letters from doctors), we asked to postpone the cruise; effectively seeking a credit. P&O had to be dragged kicking and screaming to even contemplate it. In the end, would not come to the party. We have had to forfeit all costs and been left heart broken. Will never travel with P&O again!
[n...ame removed] was extremely insensitive and rude throughout the process. Did little to assist and claimed that they were under no obligation to credit us. Left my partner in tears and inconsolable. Had P&O been willing to assist, they may have found additional business through our recommendations and from those who would have travelled with my us at a later date. Not to be. I would have thought P&O would look to reduce the risk of a Coronavirus outbreak on their ships as much as possible, by reducing the number of high risk passengers they carry. After all, an outbreak as we have seen, leads to 14 days of quarantine for the passengers, then an additional 14 days for the crew. That is a lot of lost revenue and damaging PR. It is interesting that the first death to Coronavirus in Australia was of a recent passenger with P&O.
Terrible compared to carnival and royal Caribbean
1. If you can’t do stairs disability unfriendly. You have to do stairs to get off the ship.
2. Staff not pleasant
3. Furniture tired scratched not maintained
4. Bed great
5 Air conditions turns off at night reason they say water temperature (go figure)
6 Food limited not at all exciting unlike carnival and royal carrabean
7.Resterant food average , very small serves like really small. The pantry food just isn’t up to scratch to the other cruise lines.
8. Alcohol expensive yes I know it’s holidays.
9. Tenders very hot
10. Adult area 2 spas takes max 5 people that’s it, pools x 2 very small mid ship....
I did the Comedy cruise got back yesterday, this was my first cruise and loved every minute of it.
The staff were so helpful and polite the bar staff around the main pool were the best. Im just about to book my next cruise with Pacific Aria cant wait to get back on board.
It was ok
Good choice of food. Breakfast lunch and dinner was OK, breakfast eggs, bacon, sausages, fruit, some pastry etc..
Not all staff is friendly or caring. But Dion the room attend was so nice and caring.
Also it felt like you had to pay for many extras, while other cruises offer for free.
Overall it was OK for the price.
Loved the movies by the pool. It was great to relax and watch a latest movie by the pool. Really enjoyed that.
Pool area was very small and no proper pool for adults only area.
Also not much shade by the pool, so unless you come super early and get under shade you will be left in the sun. Definitely needs more shading, specially for families with kids.
Great cruise, great food and friendly staff
I have no idea why people have given negative reviews about the Aria. Maybe they expected the Queen Mary. If you're a snob then spend 3 times the amount on one that comes with your own butler.
My wife and I enjoyed our Christmas cruise to Vanuatu and Fiji immensely. The staff were very friendly and the food in all restaurants was first rate. The bed was super comfy.
The friends we made on board all loved it.
The only down side was the slow internet speed.
If you're thinking of a cruise then go on the Aria.
You will have a ball.
P&O Explorer Comedy Cruise
In This Review: Kids Club, Dining, On Board Credit, Pools, Comedy Shows, Shopping, Cabins, Service, WiFi and Drinks.
Being that it was our first time doing a cruise, we decided to do a weekend cruise for a feel.
What better way to do it than a comedy cruise which also advertised that it is kid-friendly and suitable...
It is not kid-friendly unfortunately.
Yes, they have an onboard kids club and the Edge Adventures but it is very poorly set out.
The adults flocked the Edge Adventures and the kids club centred around kids being in a designated ...room for most of their time within the club surrounded by electronics (times: 9am-12pm & 2pm-6pm & 7pm-1am > between 9am-10pm children are free to sign themselves out and roam the ship unsupervised - which is fine for the teenagers but not OK for the younger kids). What makes this even more worrying is that the older kids clubs are directly below the casino (with only a set of stairs dividing them) and next to the onboard nightclub.
Great cruise. Disappointing food.
Great cruise apart for the disappointing food. The food in the Pantry and the Waterfront was always nearly cold. The choice for me was very limited as I dont Eat pepper or spicy food and most was this food. The bacon and toast was really bad. The bacon was dry and overcooked and you could not cut it. As was the toast. I sent my meal back in the Waterfront one evening as it was a chicken schnitzel which was cold and dry and they brought me another and it was almost the same. So disappointing was also when you ordered dessert they do not have fr...esh cream or ice cream to have with it. The room stewards Rico & Paul were wonderful. Very thorough and so lovely and polite. Apart from the food the cruise was enjoyable and the entertainment was great.
Great comedy cruise but had a terrible experience on my first day was travelling with my 11 year old daughter we got a refreshment drink package for her and I got the upgraded one for me, while waiting near with my group talking my daughter went straight to the closest bar got a drink her drink which was mostly ice which wasnt a problem but she finished it and wanting another after she downed the first one quick the bar maid said she just had a drink 5 minutes ago which made her feel bad and ashamed with other people around the bar so my daught...er said to the bar staff that it was for her mum trying to have a reason , then she was told that its not allowed and against the policy to share a drink package etc and refused to give her a drink when my daughter come back with no drink and told me what happened I went to the bar with her and asked for her to immediately give her a drink which she did after explaining the policy etc The biggest problem was now my daughter refused to go and get a drink too scared of being told off didnt want to go out of the cabin for the rest of the cruise without me Only drinking water for the rest of the cruise as a mother it made me feel sick and we didnt enjoy the cruise just waiting for the ship to come back home, it sadness me as staff need to understand some people are more sensitive and different anxieties also we have a big cruise booked for April now she doesnt want to go to.
Like no place on earth, like hell!
In June 2018 we enjoyed our first cruise, which was on P&O, on Pacific Eden, and it was a great introduction. Therefore, we thought it reasonable to expect that any subsequent P&O cruise would be of a similar standard, but the eight-day New Caledonia cruise in September 2019 was very disappointing. So disappointing that if our family ever goes on another cruise it won't be on P&O.
Comparing accommodation over the two cruises, the rooms on Pacific Explorer were very claustrophobic compared to those on Pacific Eden (our first cruise). In both...cases we had interior rooms. In addition to the food quality being poor compared to our first cruise, there appeared to be a significant hygiene issue in the Pantry on Pacific Explorer. Unlike the layout on Pacific Eden where all food was served from behind counters, it was a different story on Pacific Explorer where salads, soups, bread and rolls were self-serve. On more than one occasion I observed parents lifting young children up so that they could help themselves at grabbing bread rolls and other food that was meant to be picked up with the provided tongs! If food is going to be presented in such a way, then it is imperative to have a much higher level of vigilance with supervision of the area. It's not the fault of young children but it seems that their parents need to be supervised. It was great that there were staff constantly cleaning handrails on the stairs but what a waste of resources if the same level of hygiene is not maintained in the food areas! Therefore, it was not surprising that the medical centre was stretched to the limit with sick passengers, many with flu-like symptoms. My wife visited the medical centre (with flu-like symptoms) during the advertised open hours, but there was a sign on the door to say that it was closed due to a medical emergency, and to dial 000 if you had a serious problem. So much for that idea as she was in bother, but not so much so as to need to dial 000. There were several times over the duration of the cruise when there were announcements made about medical emergencies. There was a serious overcrowding problem in the Pantry as it was quite a battle most of the time to find a vacant table, likewise with getting a deckchair in the pool areas!
P&O Pacific Aria - Good & Bad
I guess that reviews in general tend to be the most convenient way to complain about something so the weight of complaints far exceeds the good points on most review sites. And once unhappy about one thing its natural to be negative about many.
I will try to be fair and even handed.
They changed the sailing date by a week and everyone in our party of 24 coming to Brisbane from Melbourne, Perth and Wellington NZ, had to change their flight bookings, at considerable expense, with the very little compensation of $100 per person of cre...
Smelly, Bad Food, Tiny Coffin Like Rooms, Inappropriate Entertainment & Super Expensive On Board!
Travelling from Sydney to New Caledonia.
The trip was suppose to make multiple stops from Sydney to Noumea. We first encountered rough seas and many people where sick and unable to move about the boat, not a P&O issue obviously. But when the water stopped working and the toilets were overflowing, that was definitely a P&O issue!
The food was ok, but mostly terrible, we even had to miss dinner one night due to the "pre-ordered" menu not being available, we were only told about this at 10pm after waiting a few hours and seeing everyone else ...in our group eat. We had a specific diet that we had to fight to get each and every meal, mostly this was steam vegetables, white rice and zero flavour, we had the same meal for dinner 3 times. The on board activities were not great, apart from some quizzes (free), entertainment claimed to be child friendly had people swallowing razor blades and swearing. The drinks are so expensive and we couldn't have the "drinks package" for just one day, we had to buy it for the whole trip which borders on irresponsible, it wasn't a Contiki tour! I wouldn't recommend cruising for anyone considering it. And insurance does not cover missed ports, nor bad cruise experiences, only if you had booked a sight seeing excursion would you get to claim, but you'd get your money back anyhow. If after this review you are still going, make sure you book excursions with the locals, not on the boat, you'll save money and give money back to the economy you are visiting, apparently the staff are very poorly paid and live in tough conditions on the boat, be kind to them as they will be kind to you.
My sister told me how wonderful cruises were but had never been on a PNO. The weather wasn't great so we had to look for other things to do on board. In the 10 days only one movie was shown in the theatre in the afternoon. No games room. Had a trolley that was only available from 9-10 with all the same games. No afternoon tea. Thought we would go to high tea for something to do but they were charging $29 each where on other cruises its included. Gatsby night was around the stairs with no where to sit or put drinks and only played one song from that era. If u didn't want to sit and drink all day there was nothing to do. Spoke to heaps of people and 9 out of 10 felt the same way and would never cruise PNO again.
Life Photography well worth the money
Just got home from a cruise on the Aria! Just want to give Luis from Life Artist photography a mention. Even though the photos are more than I wanted to spend, I am so happy with the outcome. Well worth the money if you want portraits taken! Memories for life!
Fantastic Time & Created Life Long Memories
Just got home from a Four Nights PO Aria Brisbane to Airlie Beach and had the most amazing time - everything was seamless from boarding to cabin allocation, daily activities and party nights - something for everyone - if you wanted to chill by the pool, read in the library, relax with afternoon tea in the Piano Bar, hang out with Miguel playing Bingo or test your memory with trivia quiz in the Ocean Bar - treat yourself to a wonderful pamper package, enjoy the company of so many amazing people who are willing to share they stories and there exp...erience, dinning in amazing restaurants or having breakfast on the deck whilst watching the sunrise, little ones are catered for , teenagers and adventures had their on entertainment and the staff were very accommodating with the disabled and our senior cruisers - I went on my own and I never had five minutes to myself because I was so busy attending the scheduled events and having a glass or two with friendly folks who made my short break away so rememberable - and the Whales - I will never forget the spectacular show these incredible animals put on for us each day - the ship itself was clean and lux and I remember thinking on my last day that the decor really looked fresh and well kept on the last as it did the first day - my cabin concierge made a fuss and took care of me each day - they acknowledged I was on my own and kept checking in to make sure I was ok .... even had turn down service and fresh linen each evening - I would strongly recommend you book your next long weekend on PO Aria and I would say your experience will be up to you - you engage or you do your own thing - yes you pay for drinks however they make it easy for you and you can select from a drink package to help with the budget - if your going for sun and alcohol then "Yes" you will need to budget but if you have a night out at a night club or a restaurant then you will pay the same price for drinks anyway - Thank you PO, Helloworld and all my fellow cruises for helping me creat life long memories .......
