Most economical heat pump.
This is my third Panasonic heatpump.
I had moved into a new property that just had gas and our old heatpump stayed at the old property which was hard to leave behind because it was good.
So I decided to get another heatpump after working out what to go for I went for the 80VKR the beastie 9kw heating 8kw cooling. To be honest I was worried about the heating bill. I had taken screenshots of the usage kw from the old heatpumps from Panasonics rubbishy wifi app. One heatpump was a 50TKR and the other 60VKR.
Now you are not going to believe this bu...
My Experience: After repaired by Panasales: EXCELLENT!
What Actew AGL could not find out and repair in one year and several useless service visits Panasales did in one visit to evaluate the fault and 24 hours later repairing a faulty motherboard on the air-conditioning. Panasales have been excellent and have to be recommended. Now my air-conditioning system works to perfection a fact one expects from Panasonic. Well done and highly recommended.

Clicks and Cracks in the wee hours
Problems with both new 7.1kw and 2.5kw units from multi-head outdoor unit. Replaced working 9yr old Panasonic 2.5KW in bedroom and added a 7.1Kw for living area. I have had ongoing issues with clicking and cracking noises which are randon. It wakes us at all hours of the night and can go on for most of the night at times. The seller visted twice and thought the noise was due to ice-buildup and cracking and said not to run the unit on "quiet" setting. Ran the unit on 3 bar fan setting and still have the noise. Other consumers have also compl...ained of these noises and some success with replacing the louver motor. This will now be done by the installer under warranty. I'm not confident but worth a try. The 7.1Kw unit had to have the fan replaced as it shuddred and was noisy. It runs ok on quiet mode. After having a very good 2.5Kw unit in the bedroom for 9 years I did not have much reason to research panasonic. I'm sorry I didn't. As far as I am concerned Panasonic quality is not what it used to be.

Noisy to the point of being unusable, Panasonic does not honor warranty
I have never written a review here before, as I have always been able to resolve issues with the retailer/manufacturer in a reasonable way. However, Panasonic has by far been the most unhelpful and dismissive manufacturer I have ever dealt with.
I purchased this unit in December. From the moment of installation, the unit has been exhibiting a clicking sound consistent with expanding and contracting plastics, but very, very loud. It easily wakes sleeping people in the room. Panasonic sent out their third party warranty representative, who verb...ally confirmed to me that the issue is abnormal and he has installed many identical models without the issue. Despite this, Panasonic has insisted multiple times that the expansion noise is normal operation and refused any further assistance, referring me to a statement in the owners manual about expansion noises not being a warranty issue. However, the specifications on their website state that, depending on the mode, the unit's sound pressure level should be between 19db (quite mode) and 44db (hi fan mode). I have obtained a sound pressure meter from work, and the clicking sounds are far in excess of this, often over 80db. Hence, the unit is not performing to it's stated specifications. After raising a fair trading case, Panasonic has yet again refused any assistance, using the statement in the manual as a get-out-of-jail-free card to absolve themselves of any responsibility. The service agent said that of all the manufacturers she has dealt with, Panasonic in particular play hard ball with their customers, and rarely offer anything other then the minimum of assistance. I have multiple split system air conditioners, Fujitsu, Daikin etc, and while all of them make some noise due to thermal contraction, none of them sound anything like this unit. My advice to any potential purchaser is to consider how noisy an environment you wish to install this in, and if it is anything other then an outdoor space, seriously consider looking elsewhere. Safe to say, I am disgusted in Panasonic's response to this, and will never purchase a product from them again, nor will I recommend them to anyone.

Repair process of faulty unit is too long
I have two identical units newly installed. One worked fine, and I would put 4 stars for that one. But the other one died after a few months. I do understand that sometimes we're unlucky and a faulty product sometimes slips through quality control, but the repair process should have been much better. We have been without this AC for 7 weeks, and this is mid winter in Victoria!
The first 2~3 weeks were spent dealing with the original installer to determine whether the fault was due to installation or the product itself. The rest of the time (st...

Too Noisy: Must avoid
Panasonic C2.5kW H3.2kW Reverse Cycle Split System CS/CU-Z25VKR
I regret my decision to go for Panasonic Air Conditioner. It's noisy like helicopter when used for heating during winter.
I got this installed in Oct 19. The pain of noise got me to warranty. The outdoor unit was replaced, but the new unit is as noisy as the old one.
My experience: Avoid Panasonic Air Conditioner
Can't live without it.
This air conditioner is fantastic. I live in a very cold climate where it regularly gets into minus temperatures and it works really well. It warms up or cools down in a very short space of time.

When it doesn’t work don’t expect customer support
We bought 3 split systems and had one bad one that didn’t work on installation in early December 2019. After having to hand out credit card details to a approved repairer, on the fourth attempt to fix it we called stumps and requested a new system, that is four times we had to take time off work and let them into our house and see our new system pulled apart and put back together again. Customer service is indifferent and we only have got resolution after complaining to ACCC. Good guys have got a new one being fitted wed/Thursday next week, 23rd of April. Was this acceptable? You be the judge. Good product zero customer service, god help us if anything else happens.

The unit itself cools well, does what it claims; however, this is an issue that is a deal breaker for us.
Upon purchase the Air Swing mode when set in Auto was noisy, making a constant squeak noise. Very annoying....So I called Panasonic who registered the fault and told me to call their service agent SKAir. After speaking with them I was required to send them a video of the issue which I did. Ultimately they replaced the whole drip tray assembly ( after numerous calls to the office) under warranty.
All went well for a month or so however th...

Very noisy unit in heat mode, don't waste your money with this!!
When the unit is turned off in heat mode, makes cracking noise for 30 minutes at least. Very annoying and disappointing! Total waste of money!!! The cooling mode works fine!

Total comfort Total control
I'm surprised that there hasn't been any reviews on this unit I've been a bit slack to review this as I had the tkr but unfortunately it was to small for the house and at the start of winter it just wouldn't heat the house on those minus Celsius cold mornings.
So the awesome team at Panasonic came to help and replace it with the latest VKR model the Z60VKR 7.2kw heating 6kw cooling to be precise and let's say just amazing everyone that comes into the house now says it's really warm inside.
The surprise is when I'm so comfortable inside I get a...

Installing a heat pump reverse cycle in our bedroom, are there any special things to be considered when unit on second floor?
Grateful for your advice
Hi Kimmy I could rattle off a whole lot of things to consider on getting the right heat pump but my best advice is go to a reputable installer contact Panasonic and ask who is your certified local installer for Panasonic heat pumps and then you can't go wrong. I hope this helps.
Hi Kimmy, Best thing as Gordon mentions is to have an installer follow the installation instructions contained within the product to ensure the best location is selected to install the unit in.
