Great trimmer- terrible parts supply
I have the Hyundai version which is exactly the same except colour. I cannot fault the tough little machine as it is so versatile and makes slashing our 1.3 hectare block a breeze. Parts are a different story. I need a replacement skid head on the trimmer assembly. I cannot obtain one in Australia until the importers decide they have enough bits to fill up their Seatainer. So now the search is on in the U.S. Very poor back up.

two foot grass with ease
i work on farms all over the place .only in the last three months .i have needed to cut and trim grass that i can not get tractor to. normal mower just will not cut . i did a lot of looking to find parklanders pet 51 y field trimmer and im glade i did . the first day was two foot high grass on a slope and it ate it not a problem light to push very quiet and leaves a fantastic finish the next time i used it was around dams grass not as tall once again ate it
even mowe my yard at home with it .
the 900 mil tank gives about 50 mins of work
the four mm cord depending on the grass will last that if not longer in short grass and no steel post
starts first pull every time
easy to oil change

Tested on some grotty yards
I run a residential business, and in every occasion, I get the housing commission job that looks like a complete jungle. For both the front and backyard I concluded that my gxv160 mower alone wouldn't "cut it" without choking so I gave the PET51y a try. The front yard had tall weeds and this made mince meat out of it. However, the backyard had tall buffalo grass, the really grotty type that looks as if its been mulched over and over. I did have some issues, and I felt that the engine was a little underpowered. I wish these things came opted in ...Read more
a b&s or honda engine. At the end, the job took 1 hour for the front, and 3 for the back. I can definitely say though this cut my time down a lot instead of using my brushcutter. and I would recommend it to anyone who is stuck in a muck with these kind of jobs.Similar opinion? I'm afraid I don't know - small engine mechanic would be your best bet.
I ireplaced engine with honha now no problems fits perfectly would not deal with park lander as rhy know then engine does not have corect oil feed for any slope even slight incline also cable ties are better than hopless wraparound a blade would be better00000 engine from sid hoppings rydalmere.

Hi, I recently purchased a PET - 51 y TRIMMER it seems to be working fine but the rev is going up and down, is that normal or is it supposed to hold a constant rev? Thanks in advanced.

Mine is holding a constant rev and that's the way it's supposed to be. It sounds like with your problem you want to check your carburetor, it might just need to be cleaned out. This is a common problem, not just in your strimmer, it happened to my victa mower too. Good luck
Check you engine for oil over fill it as engine has it no bearings and according to the importer does not require any see my post as my one failed with very little use. sorry I suspect engine is crap
