Rip off quotes!!!
My husband called when our toilet cistern was leaking. Guy that came to do the quote hardly looked at it and just told my husband that we should just replace it (for $1200). It’s only 7 years old and all that was wrong with it was a washer which cost my husband $6 from Reece and he replaced it himself and the toilet is working perfectly. What a disgrace. Not sure how they can get away with ripping people off like that. We have used them before but NEVER again.
1 star for the blokes who work for them
Overpriced quote. Rushing me as consumer into signing up on the spot, promising service within the day. Could not do the job till next day. Workman were fine, looked like external contractors, not part of Pascoe's, and I am guessing that most of the money paid goes to the head office (advertising, etc). I had major issue with the initial salesman ... told about 3-4 lies (pricing of replacement unit, when job could be done, misinformation about what needed to be replaced, unsure of some facts of the item he was urging me to replace). He also dis...turbed the old unit making it seem more damaged than it was. Demanding me to pay up quickly after job (within days) ... he got angry since I managed to twist his arm to reduce the price substantially, even then it was more expensive that what it should have really been. Sent me semi-threatening text messages. Demanding, leaning towards menacing letter (which seemed unprofessionally written) from their accounts dept, charging late fees without prior warning. All in all, very unprofessional. I should have checked the online reviews (simple Google search will reveal general customer disapproval) prior to seeking their help. There is a dark pattern to their modus operandi, and it is not very Australian, sorry but I have to say that.
Very Very Dodgy
We called these guys out when our hot water system stopped working. I was expecting around $1500 to replace the unit as I have replaced HWS's before at around this price. They came out very quickly and made all kinds of claims that our plumbing/gas lines were 'non-compliant' and that significant work had to be done to make it compliant before a new system could be installed. They quoted us $4500 and pressured us to commit there and then saying we should go for the Certigy EziPay option and pay it off in instalments. My husband signed up to ...an ezi pay payment plan and we paid a deposit on credit card. The "plumber" (I'm actually pretty sure he was actually just a salesman, not a plumber at all) said he would be back to do the work. In the meantime, as the quote wasn't sitting comfortably with me I contacted the Master Plumber and Gasfitters Association of WA who warned me to be very cautious of Pascoe's and to get a second opinion from a Member Plumber/Gasfitter. After reading all the terrible reviews, I panicked and cancelled the job. I quickly cancelled the work and got the Ezi Pay Plan cancelled and the Deposit refunded. I engaged a Plumber who is a member of the Master Plumbers and Gasfitter's Association of WA. They came out and installed the new system for a total cost of $1300 and said there was nothing "Non compliant" about our plumbing/gas lines. If we hadn't changed our minds so quickly they would have done the work and we would have been stuck paying off that debt for two years. Part of their Modus Operandi it would seem, is that they act very quickly so that you are committed and the work is done before you can change your mind. Do not use these guys. What they quoted us was a 250% mark up on the actual cost of the work.
Total price rip off
My husband drilled through the gas pipe in the kitchen . Called Pascoes who although advertise 24/7 couldn't come out till the next day . When he arrived finally at 6pm he advised the job would be $1350 to go in via the roof as it was plastic gas pipe , and he needed special tools, or $700 if my husband took the tiles off and chipped out the wall in the kitchen . This seemed expensive -so we elected to get a local plumber to quote . He did the job , he took the tiles off and chipped out the wall and did the repair all for $200. I would never use them - always get a second quote . No wonder thy can afford to have ads on TV so often
My solar hot water system needed replacing. Called Pascoe's and they came out that night. Told me the isolation valve and pressure relief valve need replacing as well. Quoted me $7450. Called a local plumber and he quoted $3950 installed. Needless to say the local got the job. Should be a law against blatant rip off companies. We didn't like the manner of the plumber either. Very cocky and rude.
rip off thieves
blocked drains, pascoes arrived here ten minutes said have to call our guy to put camera down and unblock drains, cost $1,1880,guy came put camera through pipes, unblocked them, left me his card blocked again three weeks later, someone was blocking them on purpose,he came put camera down and unblocked drains cost $380.pascoes are thieves do not use them.
Over-priced, do your research first!
Pascoes - Good workmanship and effective sales marketing at a price. Paid at least double the cost should have for continuous instant gas unit installation and removal of prior system plus 2x sink and shower sets $4000+. Minimal wait for booking, work completed in ~4 hrs. Wish I saw reviews and took separate quotes earlier.
HORRIBLE MONEY HUNGRY
Had a Pascoes worked out to check a busted water heater. Didnt look at it once. Told me it would be $4000 to get it fixed. Tried to get me to sign up to a pay agreement straight away and in the meantime I have had three comparative quotes all coming in at $1800 for the same system, same work. Disgusting to be talking to someone who is aiming so hard to rip you off.
Overpriced and Very Misleading
I recently called Pascoes to investigate an RCD tripping when it rained. They sent around a guy who told me that it would cost me $4000 for them to investigate. $1800 to check all the wiring and $2200 to replace some circuit breakers with RCDS because since January 2019 it was now illegal for them to do any work if the RCDs needed adding to the circuit board. I already have 3 RCDs on the board and according to the Safety Law I only have to do anything if I'm selling the house. The RCDs themselves cost $30 from Bunnings so I presume Pascoes char...ge you $700 for replacing each one. The job itself takes 30 minutes for each RCD I've been told. When I queried the fact that it was very expensive he told me that it was my safety at stake. I've managed to find the cause of the problem now. I also wonder about the positive reviews here as my experience mirrors the negatives one. I'm a pensioner so I expect they probably thought I would agree to the quote and not argue. I feel that any company that over quotes to this extent and uses scare tactics to get the business are fraudulent.
Rip off merchants
Called Pascoes to diagnose a instantanious gas hot water system problem, knowing it may well have to be replaced. Plumber arrived and told me by the phone it would have to be replaced. I asked him the cost $3100!!!!. Reputable gas hot water units of this size have a retail cost of around $1000 , even down to $850. So I asked the limber how he could justify over $2000 to fit the unit, the job for a competant plumber should take less than an hour. He waffled on about this and that, all rubish, and virtually siad take it or leave it. I left if!! I..., having wasted half a day in this process, rang another Perth based plumning company, they were out the next day, the very efficient sales lady gave me a quote on the phone and that's what they charged. The price was $1470. Pascoes is unscupulous and I suppect plays tgis game quite often. I wonder how many othes have got caught up in their schemes. Subsequent investigations find much evidence that this is their normal mode of operartion.
total rip off
While away in Bali a sewer blocked in one of our units, tenants called Pascoes (big Mistake), Repair with Jetta cost $1280 and then would not do job without payment, would not bill to us the owners.
Tenant signed up to Humm finance to pay the amount adding another $200 to cost. We had the same blockage 12 months prior and was repaired for under $300.
Do not use this company.

Overcharged and worst customer service
After waiting all day for the plumber to arrive. He charged a huge amount for minimal work and didn't even fix the problem. I had to pay for another plumber to fix. Contacted Pascoes Customer service for a refund and was rudely refused. Would not recommend 0 stars.
I phoned Pascoes on Sunday around 5pm due to an emergency kitchen leak, I got put through to an answering machine and got told to leave a message and someone will get back to me in a few minutes.
It is now Tuesday 4pm and I'm still waiting for a reply.
So much for being open 365 days a year, at least phone your customers back.
I will never ring them again.

$1000 too much. Be wary of Pascoes Gas and Water
We Rang 3 separate plumbing Companies after Easter 2018 for 'quote only' of replacement of Hot water system. Two of them would reply a quote over phone as asked. Pascoes came out on insistence. When they arrived in Dining room they would not leave until they had a signed contract for replacement. Average replacement cost of HWS was $1600, they quoted my elderly 81 yr old mother $2600 to install. My mother under pressure Signed for $2100.
Later the other two independent plumbers said they would have done it for around $1600.
But Pasc...oes Installed a Unit only half the capacity of what was contracted. It was a Single bedroom apartment HWS and not a House sized unit as agreed. In addition the Quality of the work was very poor with mess and off cuts left as the fell. The remote control unit was installed on an angle with holes in the brickwork visible in the bathroom. The only redeeming feature of Pascoes was they came out fairly promptly... But the actual workers of Pascoes revealed and confirmed verbally to us that Pascoes was being investigated and I believe charged for pressuring Elderly people to sign for plumbing work done which was massively overcharged... The broader plumbing industry is aware of this as well and generally passes this information on.
