Wont let you leave.
Transferred off a Pennytel plan back to Telstra and they won’t release the number over the weekend. They disconnected the number but won’t release number. So if you swap providers on the weekend you see screwed. Avoid these jokers, they have no idea
Nope thats incorrect, its not automatic and electronic. Your service representative, who did his best to help, forgot to put call on the mute on when he raised it to another level and they let the ...
Read morecat out of the bag saying it wont work over the weekend as the provisioning team was not contracted to work the weekends. Thanks for another lie however, clears it up for everyone! This is actually a security risk as the disconnection is automatic but the port is not. Its left me wife without a phone for 48 hours and unable to log into services with 2 step authentication that sent an SMS. Poor form alround and sounds like Pennytel is simply Pennypinching by not paying their provisioning people to be allocated to weekends. When my wife asked for a Manager to call at time, she was put on hold but then told, no, the manager wont speak to her, she needed to wait for a call on Monday. Again, the service guy was helpful but left stranded by no provisioning team and no support from Management- 5 reviews

Great service…would be better with data roll over
Reliable network coverage, no drop outs. I made the change from Aldi which once use to be a great option until the constant drop outs.
My only downfall is with Pennytel is that the unused data isn’t rolled over. This is something that an Aldi plan has as an advantage over Pennytel.

Good service, pleased with the price
Good access so far on my travels down south of WA. The test will come when I go into some of the Midwest towns. Works OK at home. Pleased with the price of their service.

No customer service
Tried to contact customer service twice and you never hear back. Plan went dead mid month and was unable to get any response. Cheap, but you get what you pay for

Good but could be better!
Network coverage mostly ok. Worryingly I did not receive a text a friend confirmed sending on 5/3/22 conveying important information. Data download speeds seem ok. The price is very appealing.
Hi Arabella, thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that you had missed a text message, we would like to look into this further for you and have sent you a message to assist.

Very poor management
Very poor management decision not to provide additional data at no cost to NSW flood victims where internet or telephone reception failed. Various requests were made by me and virtually palmed of and ignored. Thanks for nothing pennytel.

My only issue is that I seem to be missing out on receiving some text messages since transferring to Pennytel. I hope this can be sorted out. Other than that, a strong motivation for joining Pennytel is its Australian-based support team, and that is reassuring.

satisfied with Pennytel
I recently purchased a Pennytel account. The price was very competitive compared to other carriers. The phone operator was very helpful in setting it up. Also comes with voicemail ( previous carrier did not ) a bonus for small business. Quite happy with whole outcome.

Pennytel use only a PART of the Telstra network.
Bought a Pennytel plan for travelling Australia based on them using the Telstra network. What a MAJOR disappointment! VERY poor coverage away from the east coast of Australia. They claim to cover most Telstra service locations but we found very, very little coverage, and they are not transparent about it! My partner has a plan direct with Telstra and she gets coverage when my Pennytel plan most ties doesn't. DO NOT rely on a Pennytel plan for travel around Australia. Based on experience, they only service the east coast. Am searching for an alternate provider.

Disappointed
Unfortunately I had a issue with the sim card. Kept cutting out during calls and sim kept on resetting. Was told to clean sim card which I did but didn't change the outcome. Switched providers to Felix which I've had a awesome outcome with. In switching I was only a couple of days into a new month. Still getting charged the whole $30 which is poor form.

You asked for it.
Its ok so far for me on Kangaroo Island. I dont use my smart phone very much for calls, only sometimes txts. I use it for Skype when its turned on and I am away from my PC at home. I doubt very much that I am using so many MB at all per month, but it would be nice for you to let me, and your other customers know how many MB we use monthly. I'm 79 yrs young, quite deaf, and hate voice mails, so I delete them when they appear on my phone. I would like them stopped to enter my phone if possible. Thank you.

Very poor reception.
Using the Telstra network you would expect the same coverage but no because Telstra only sell a portion of their signal, not 100%.
Had to change back to Telstra to get a signal strong enough in Alfredton to be able hold a conversation with out drop outs. Same with data we had to use WiFi from the house to get data.

I’m strongly considering coming across to Pennytel, but I have some questions for you. Is your service capped through out the day? At this moment with Belong, my service is forever dropping, sending and receiving messages are delayed. Phone calls don’t go through or aren’t received and Internet access and streaming are at its worse. Will this happen with your service?
Thanks,
