Peugeot 307 T6 (2005-2009) has been discontinued and replaced by Peugeot 308.
Economy with performance
2006 hdi has been fault less returning 50 mpg on average (checked every 10,000km). The safety options exceed most other cars of same vintage and the speed limiter has meant I have kept my licence given the acceleration that this 2 litre diesel delivers. Handle corners and everything else the last 7 years has thrown at it. Great car
Have to move front seats forward to be able to fold back seats flat to gain greater load space

build quality is poor. Diesel filter problems plague Peugeot and Citroen diesels in this country. Common faults include just stopping because the filter collapses blocking fuel flow.Trim bits fall off. Early cars had the carpet cut too short in the factory. As a result the edge of the carpet pulls out from te scuff plate on the door jamb

A Good Car, Without a Doubt
I've had the petrol 2 litre 307 for about 4 years; in that time it hasn't missed a beat while on the road. It's powerful (I drive hard) and has good performance at start-off and overtaking. Economy is less ideal at about 11.6 l/100km around town (a gentler driver might do better).
There is a certain cache in driving a French car in Australia that the Japanese cars can't match. The styling influence in clearly drawn from the Pininfarina-designed 407, with it's large toothy grill; appearance-wise I like it better than the newer and more advan...ced 308. I've used it for city and interstate drives and it's always comfortable and quiet. The seats are also large and comfortable with long leg travel (I'm a big guy), and finding comfort in a small car was difficult at purchase time; in fact, only the Pug met the criteria out of the various cars I looked at. In over four years the car hasn't developed any annoying buzzes or rattles or vibrations. Things I don't like are the bonnet release being on the left side of the car, how jam-packed everything in the engine bay is so that I can't change a light globe myself, and the high cost of Peugeot-unique parts (a new rubber brake pedal has just cost me $63) and servicing (about $500 for a major service). I don't know how bad Peugeot is for these things and maybe other car makers charge a lot as well. The fold-down rear seats require the removal from the car the seat base, and even then the folding backs don't lie flat. Do I like the car overall? Yes, I like it a lot; it has personality when many cars don't and comes across as a friend (for the anthropomorphically-minded reader out there). It been excellently reliable and has done everything I've asked of it, and in comfort. PS My previous cars have been: Ford Capri, Ford Escort RS2000, VB Commodore, Ford Fairlane(s), Ford Laser. The 307 and RS2000 are equal for fun to drive, the last Fairlane was the most comfortable and roomy, the Capri and RS2000 were head turners but noisy and basic. The Laser was reliable but basic. I gave 4 stars instead on five because I figure that various luxury cars would have to be better, but the Pug is better than average in its class.
The spare tyre set up is disastrous I am unable to lower the tyre myself as both times it has become stuck and then when lowered the cable has snapped and it costs a few hundred each time to have it fixed meaning that the tyre takes up most of the boot while I wait for the parts to come in to fix it. I HATE this car and I think it is ugly too-the quality is so poor I wonder where it is made? Must say though have had many different cars incl BMW and Mercedes and it has the most comfortable seats I've ever had.

The pug becomes your friend. It looks after you on a cold and dark highway many miles from anywhere. You can be lucky or unlucky when it comes to Pug quality and reliability - I was lucky!
Safe and "planted" feel; lovely shape (first model only); handles well for a seemingly heavy car.
no grunt; no low-down torque; terrible city-car but great highway cruiser; difficult to park; still can't get the aircon/heater to work properly as in switch it off.
Will definitely look at the 308 for my next vehicle; these cars are just better overall compared to Volks, Citroen, GMH and Ford offerings.
Fuel consumption, comfort, steering, climate control. The height of the vehicle gives sense of security in traffic, and the safety features are highly commended.
Agree with others, the handling/suspension not as great as 306, carpet at door seal lifted on day one, headlamps need replacing too often (and high $$$).
Very happy with the overall car Bucket seats with leather interior, cruise control, 6 stack CD, fog lights, sunroof, etc. It gets about 500km a tank in city about 700 country driving. No problems with the electronics car is now 3 years old. tyre noise is bad when tyres are half worn out new tyres fixed this. now no noise. The two doors swing right out you always have to be carefull as the can get away from you and hit cars parked next to you.

The Peugeot 307 has never disappointed me with it's futuristic design and ability to go for longer. It cruises comfortably on the highway although manouvering it can sometimes be a problem, due to it's larger-than-normal-small-car size. It seats five adults without complaint and the dashboard is beautiful. An excellent car, especially if you love diesel.

Because it isn't such a popular brand like Ford or Holden, spare parts can sometimes be difficult to find. However that is nothing compared to the car itself.
Nice car but if I had my time again I would have purchsed the Subaru Liberty GT. Fun with the roof down but because the Australian sun is so fierce you can't really have the roof down in the middle of the day without asking for sunburn! The boot just fits the Phil & Teds pram and a couple of bags of shopping with the roof up. Our wiper blades are really noisy too.

No guts. Expensive to change tyres, have to replace every 12 months or so, every 20 000kms approx. Service very expensive, 40 000km service was over $800!
I also own a Ford XR6 Turbo that I bought new and have had zero troubles with it in three years. If I could go back in time I would have bought a 4 CYL ford instead of this peugeot. The car is a practical economical vehicle and would be an excellent car if build quality was improved. Next time I may even consider a German car but have definately been turned off French cars for life. Dealer seems to be quietly aware of all the problems but keeps tight lipped. Will keep it for two years and trade in. Will Keep XR6 Turbo for as long as I can
If you are after an affordable stylish looking car with plenty of torque and room for all the family or your mates than this is your car! The seats are comfortable and there is plenty of head room.
The sound system is pretty good, but I wish it had a 6 stacker CD player.
If you are tossing up hatchback to buy this is your car! you won't be disappointed.
Looks great. The car has a very quiet ride in comparision to my previous car which was a similar car.The seats are comfortable. Climate control works really well in summer.Only needs a service every 20000kms! I've had mine for 2 years and it has cost $350 to service in this time!
Nothing. I love my car!
I really love this car which has been our "family" car for 4 years now. Kids growing bigger now so need to upgrade, more for the luggage space than for the footroom. Have looked at some wagons (eg Outback) which don't have as much room in the backseat, or the boot. Will be sad to part with this little beauty.
Good looking, economical, nice big fuel tank, very roomy for what looks like a small car
Have had some ongoing, minor electrical problems (eg indicator and tail light globes blowing regularly), "over-cancelling" problem with indicator stalk fixed for free by dealer, even outside of warranty (known problem with these cars)

car drives as if the break is intermittently being applied
I am driving a Peugeot 307 cc 2007 model. I just got the replacement gearbox so now the mechanic is having a problem on how to install the gearbox as one of the cables that are suppose to be connected to the gear are short so is there anyone that can be able to help me with this problem as I am struggling to install the gearbox, Please help me out.
