Stylish and comfortable with superb ride.
Perfectly adequate power and handling for overwhelming majority of drivers.
Interior punches way above its weight, with all the toys required.
More interesting than most at this price point.
Purchased in November 2019 for $58,000.

This car has now 103,000 kms on it in the early days of ownership we had each electric window mechanism break , a return to Peugeot dealer each time , replaced under warranty , but annoyed that if they knew that there was a problem why not just replace all four units at the same time as apparently it was to do with the plastic that was used in the construction.
Fuel float mechanism has failed diagnosis and replacement for a sender unit $780.00 Australian.

I've had this car (Peugeot 508 GT 3013) for 2 months now and I like it. The 2.2L Diesel feels like a strong engine whilst returning an average of 850km to a tank mixed driving, (average speed 45kmh). Taking on a long trip soon (1000km+ run) so looking forward to seeing how economical it can be - maybe it'll return 5L/100km? Interior is good, comfortable and well fitted, leather is high quality. Handling is good thanks to double wishbone suspension. Highway drive is great, feels weighty and solid/safe. ICE system is pretty average as it won't sh...
Read moreow me a connected bluetooth device track details. Idle noise is higher than my last car (mondeo) but driving at highway speeds it's quiet (really nice). Auto is good. Styling is good. Overall quality and workmanship is good. Has what might be known as a model wide design fault that stops heated seats from working - apparently expensive to fix. **Doesn't have** Auto Cruise Control impact warning protection and Lane depart warnings. This Peugeot GT offers a superior drive to the Mondeo, which it seems to compete with in European markets. At this early stage of ownership I'm happy with the car.Update on ownership of the 508 GT. Still very happy with it, reliability is great (I service every 10K at RACV approved service center). Same good experience as when I got it really. On the problems I...

Heated seats don't work any more and there's been some issues with the windows, fixed as we go but I've replaced 3 of 4 winder wheels/cables so far - it's a known design fault. Engine still excellent, fuel economy is excellent at 7l/100km for life of ownership so far (average speed 49kmph). Got to fit a (Euro) tow bar now and it's gonna be about $1500 fitted. Bottom line - I still love my 2013 Peugeot 508 GT.Beautiful to drive , well asembled but from garbage parts that keep breaking down , also local deale

Beautiful to drive, running costs are amazing!! It has a 1.6lt turbo engine that uses the same amount of fuel if not less then a Mazda 3 sp 23 2.3 litre. this is the first European car I’ve had & im totally sold! The only thing I could fault is the lack of space in the console.. so small! As is the glove box.

Very nice car, with great leather interior and dashboard but as with all European cars you must be prepared for some trouble and expect to pay a bit for repairs. I would recommend this car to those who can afford it and afford to have it consistently serviced. The diesel fuel also helps reduce the cost of fuel.
I have really enjoyed the very efficient fuel economy, (currently 5.5lts/100km). The car is comfortable to drive and has great pick up when passing. The boot space is very plentiful and love the ease of opening the boot. The car has been serviced at all scheduled intervals and meticulously cared for. Problems that have occurred are - * failing window motors, the service centre tell me it's from over use, but they are hardly ever used, (the window drops into the door $600 repair) this has happened 4 times, * keys not being detected (now have to...
Read more carry both keys to get it to lock/unlock/start), * every time I get new tyres, wheel nut covers are lost because they don't fit tight, * within 12 months of purchase had to have the rear door seals replaced due to gross fading/colour change (covered under warranty) and now my lion on the bonnet is falling apart. Going in for it's 140,000 km service this week, but I think I should have traded in by now. Overall I have enjoyed the drive and comfort of the 508, (my first European vehicle) but I'll try others.Related Articles

We have only done 22,000kms and have had problems with key not being detected. Dealer advised couldn't find problem or key sometimes plays up. Now we have a shudder when putting into drive. Sat Nav isn't current. Slow to take off. Disappointed for the cost. Our 8th new car but first Peugeot and I would not buy another. Dealer service is poor. Cover cracked at service by mechanic and unfortunately for him we had to look under the bonnet day after picking it up and found it. Returned with wheel nut covers missing. Three trips to Dealership to have computer errors fixed and twice it was towed. I live rural so it is a 140 km round trip. We buy a new car so we have reliability however this car has greatly let us down.

Got this car a couple of months ago and the first few weeks were lovely. It is comfortable and drives nice. The 1.6 petrol is surprisingly good. Then the electrics went haywire. kept resetting and lighting up the STOP and Service lights. Resets the clock, climate control and alarmingly the cruise control switches off. Took it back to the dealers Allpike peugot and they had to escalate it to France. Its been two weeks and still no diagnosis. Given me an inferior car to drive in the meantime. Called Peugeot Australia that were quick to t...
Read moreell me that they have no provision for loan cars and it is up to the dealer whether they will even give you one. This is on a two month old car! Don't expect any support from head office as their policy is that they don't do loan cars. I have no idea what is wrong with the car and how long before I will have it back. Neither does France apparently. I have spoken to others about Peugot as I manage a fleet and they have reported similar problems with service from Peugeot, especially the time it takes. Beware of buying one - they are a nice car but highly prone to be troublesome and remember that the dealer is on their own with little support from the few staff in head office. Comfortable, well equipped and stylish Sta Nav is next to useless and out of date - I have put my Garmin in. Cup holders poor. Storage minimal for such a big car. They do do loan cars. Threaten media complaint and cutting off monthly finance payment and a HERTZ rent-a-car materialises within 90 minutes. I even know who to call at Peugeot Australia if you or others need to escalate.

Very close to the perfect vehicle.. Almost everything in my July 2012 Peugeot 508 shouts quality. Spectacular pulling power with four adults (or a family of five). Good town and highway car. Cavernous boot. Sumptuous, comfortable leather seats. Great in-car storage options. Very adjustable driver and passenger positions. Brilliant sound/telephony options. On-board USB ports, charger ports, etc. Lovely range of automated "toys" - wipers, lights, air-conditioning. Outdoor proximity sensors brilliant for tight places. Parking sensors (on both side...
Read mores) are a dream. Would give it four and a half stars in a flash but a couple of annoying things for the manufacturer to fix before it's up for five stars. Almost everything. My favourite thing is the comfort, the road holding, the in-built safety, the driver toys. Most of all I love the outstanding economy. Two return trips Newcastle-Gold Coast without refilling the 70L diesel tank until the last 50-100km. Outstanding economy on the highway and around town at the speed limit. 1. The sat-nav is not accurate enough and Peugeot chose an appalling third party company to manage/oversee it. 2. The glove box is next to useless. Barely anything "normal" fits in it. 3. The drink/cup holders are a joke. They only fit things with the same diameter as a standard soft-drink can. Also, one cannot manage the sat-nav, stereo or telephony screen while cans of drink are in the holders as the view of the screen is blocked.I concur with you 100% regarding the cup holders. Totally stupid, and the glove box is tiny. If I had of noticed this prior to purchase I would reconsider. Sounds trivial, but if you drive a lot, it counts.
There's pouches, pockets and space everywhere but, oh - what a waste of time putting a lid on that glovebox.
My biggest upset is the useless sat-nav - spoils a great car's usability a lot.

We test drove the 508 and were impressed with the interior and exterior styling but found the winged sides to the seats terribly uncomfortable. I wanted to get out after 15 minutes in the car.

I bought this car in the Allure HDi 2.0l diesel form on 24/11/2012 and have since rolled of 1200 Km's without a single problem.
The engine is a little bit doughy on initial take off and changes to 2nd gear at relatively low revs (1500) but then will hold on in other gears till approx 4000 revs.
The Turbo kicks in very well and gives it a shove in the back once it reaches approx 1800 revs and then proceeds without any effort, but with good urgency, to the speed limit you want to achieve. The only concern is that under relative high acceler...
Read moreation then when you get to the required limit (say 80Km/h) then it will hold in gear thinking you still want to accelerate. The car comes with a full complement of safety items, 6 airbags, ABS, Traction control, EBD, seat belt warnings, door ajar warnings and even more. It has an electric automatic parking brake that comes on automatically when the car is switched off and put in park. It then stays on when the car is started and put into gear, only releasing when the accelerator is pushed. The car I purchased had the factory fitted sat nav (without the HUD) and it gives a better interface for the operation of the car's entertainment and Bluetooth phone system. I would recommend it to anyone buying this car. The steering is handled by an electric connection which does leave some vagueness after years of hydraulic power steering but is easy to get to grips with and once used to it gives good feedback to where the front wheels want you to go. Under steer is there but only just when pushing hard into a tight corner such as a roundabout.A most comprehensive review. Well done. Thanks.
Update.
have now had the car for 5 months and still enjoy it after 5000 km.
It constantly uses 6.5l/100km used both on long country drives and short hops to the local shops. Quiet and still no issues of any concern....

2015 508gt sheared its gearbox mounts only done 52000miles anybody know what would cause this?
The GT has active engine mounts which can fail prematurely due to the extra torque of the 2.2 diesel.
Not too costly to replace so long as you avoid a dealer.
I purchased the part online and got my local guy to fit.
I have Peugeot 508 2013 model
These is one thing about im worried is like it don’t change gears properly some time accelerator (RPM) goes upto 5 to 6 rpm and it don’t change gear even if im driving it on eco mode
Hi i am looking to buy 8-10 years old Allure or GT(DIESEL). I am attracted by the look and fuel economy but the vehicles have between 160 - 180k on the odometer?
Are they reliable cars that can last that long or i should go better with BMW E60 520D?
I have a GT now at 7 years old and low K's 80,000Ks, located in VIC, would you like to take a look?
