Very Happy with Product
Mine has worked perfectly for about 2 years and I have been really happy with it.
I used it a lot - both on myself and my husband. I was very skeptical when I bought it, but I have done my legs, underarms, bikini line, even my arms and none of the hair has grown back and I don't have to do any hair removal at all anymore. You do have to use it a few times on each area but you will notice the difference after 3rd - 4th time. Even after the 1st time, the hair is a lot slower in growing back. The hair does have to be quite dark (I was a perfect candidate with pale skin and black hair - and my legs were really hairy for a female).
My husband is Italian and has olive skin and it didn't work as well. Some parts where he is very tanned, it didn't work at all and others, it slowed the growth quite a lot but I think it did eventually grow back (but he didn't use it as many times as I did though).
Negatives - it does start to get quite hot after a while - the part that you press on your skin, so I always did the sensitive areas first otherwise it was fine on my legs even when it was hot. The charger lasted probably enough almost do one full leg but as it does get quite hot, I think it is better to let it cool down after a while anyway.
Positives - I have had my bikini line and underarms lasered once by a professional and it really hurt - like a burn. The Phillips Lumea doesn't hurt anywhere near as much - barely hurts at all, you may have to do it a few more times than if you got it done professionally but it will work out a lot cheaper and a lot more convenient - I used to do it while watching tv.
Battery died after 15 months
As above - have contacted place of purchase who are only replacing but I want a refund so I am now speaking to the ACCC as it is a known fault; is major and I certainly would not have purchased the product f I had known the high chance of the battery failing. I think Phillips is being irresponsible for continuing to sell this product with the faulty battery and especially when it is so exspensive!
Hi ! Im using my Philips Lumea Prestige for about a year now and i absolutely love it ! it was working nicely until this morning when i tried to turn it on or charge it but its not working ! nothing ! Im using my Lumea every week so it was not turned off for a while or something like that ! i wonder if you could help me because i cant imagine my life without this awesome device ! btw Im from Hungary.
