Excellent service from start to finish.
It being my first purchase at auction every person I dealt with couldn't have been more helpful, from the first phone call to the end of the auction. Particularly the young lady at the reception and the security guard who went out of his way to show me what to do.
Thanks a lot guys!
Disgraceful conduct, will never use them again
Was bidding on a few ex military equipment lots on an online auction, and Pickles closed/ sold all auction lots prior to the advertised auction end time. I tried to contact the auction rep. via mobile, no reply. Sent an email the following day to Pickles customer service, and also no response. I'll be steering clear in future.
Look I have been dealing with most auction yards including Pickles over the last 10 years and I am absolutely amazed how much people pay for cars, trucks, machinery and other items knowing it is an as is where is sale. Part of the problem is to be blamed on insurance companies on what information is passed on to companies like Pickles. I will give you an example I have a cat dozer that has been written off by an insurance company they asked Pickles for a salvage cost came back at near double what I would think it was worth me knowing what was w...rong with it and the cost to fix this machine when I asked the assessor what he had told pickles about the machine he said what we legally have to so don't blame the auction yard all the time there could be another side to why the items you buy are not quite what they are described as maybe the answer is that the auction yards have to be more proactive in finding out more information on products they are selling, another idea could be anyone selling through an auction yard sign disclosure document so people who buy have some legal avenue when full details of faults or issues with items are not disclosed fully. Regards Steve
I bought the car 3 days ago. on the day of inspection, the car battery was dead so they jump start it and said "it just need a good 2 hours charging with the indicator light on". I trusted them, then purchased the car. On the pick up day, car battery was dead, they had to jump start the car again. I drove a good 4 hours after picking up the car. Car battery gone dead again after only 30 mins of parking. I ranged pickles, their irresponsible answer was "The car battery is not under any warranty at all". It is not my fault, the car battery gone d...ead probably because they did not care for it properly when they displaced the car in their warehouse. How disappointed! will ask for a full refund of the car as it is still under 7 days buy back offer. please never ever buy cars from here

robbed of a $1000 from pickles, unfair and inaccurate business practises
I was interested in a car that was in the salvage auctions and listed as WOVR NA, which meant I could re-register it in my state of NSW. I decided I was going to bid on it on the auction day so I registered to bid on-line. A couple of days later when the car came through during the auction I bid and won, however when I got the invoice in the email I saw that the status of the car had changed from WOVR-NA to Repairable Write Off. As a repairable write off I could not register the car in NSW. I contacted Pickles, they were aware the status change...d and would not refund my $1000 deposit. I complained that the status should not have identified unless it was confirmed as such. The car was useless to me. I did not proceed with purchasing the car and Pickles have not and will not refund my deposit. Totally unfair, shonky advertising of their cars and questionable business practises. I am totally unhappy with Pickles.
Unprofessional Outfit from Top to bottom
Cheap infrastructure - expensive fees and really poor service, this organisation is marketed as being one of the largest in the automotive sales industry, but they simply don’t perform. It’s all hype and no delivery.
Unprofessional and false condition report
I purchased a car from pickles fyshwick canberra Mercedes c250d coupe on fixed price . Paid full amount for the car on 6th of feb and picked up . When i start driving few errors shown up on dash . I can understand they don't offer test drive but they should mention on condition report. Took the car back on monday 10th of feb to pickles canberra and shown them evidence ( Photos ) of errors from the day i purchased. They sent me MIT automotive. They were so helpful and recommend to take car to Mercedes canberra . Went back to pickles because tha...t was pre existing errors and the sales agent DAVID recommend and organise the booking with another workshop which is called anthony costello in fyshwick and didn't want to listen that their fault and start teaching me the process. He told me they just sell the cars and warranty covered by AWN insurance and told me they will look after your claim now. Basically he was trying to tell me we sold the car and now you deal with it . Myself and my wife went back to see there manager if he can do something about it . But he didn't bother to come out and talk to us . Only positive response we got from Arun. Who was trying to help us out from this situation . The worst part we paid the good amount of car and paying the interest from last two weeks and pickles using our hard earn money . This situation is soo stressful for us . Thinking to go ACCC now . Just want to warn people don't trust pickles . I won't recommended to anyone now onwards.
Avoid Like a Plague
I purchased a car from Pickles auctions, the first shock was they charged me more than $500 for auction fees and bidding online. The second thing was; the car was far from the description. Engine has obvious major problems and they have failed to report it. They even charge you for taking your money (no joke), whether you pay by EFTPOS, cash or credit, they are all alike.
I picked up the car, and as soon as I drove off the auction yard, I could tell it has big problems. I rang the manager at Pickles and I told him the state of the car, he aske...d me to provide a mechanical report, and I did, which was not free thou. He finally he agreed to return the car and refund my money without paying me anything for the mechanical report, which they should have done before selling any car. The car was a salvage vehicle, and it worths absolutely nothing. It is so sad that they are going sell it to someone else. The most ugly part is the refund, it has been a number of weeks and I call them everyday and they keep telling me I will receive it tomorrow. Last phone call they hanged up on me. I am stuck now, I cannot buy another car as I am waiting for the money. The verdict of this story, don't be fooled by the cheap prices of any auction, once these crocks add their charges, they are no longer cheaper than the market price. In addition, the chances of you buying a lemon is almost certain. just think twice before you "Pickles"
Inaccuracte vehicle condition reports and shocking customer service!
Inaccurate condition reports. Do not purchase without seeing the car for yourself!
Basically I was told over the phone that I lacked 'common sense'.
"Bullseye Chip" with "comment only"
turns out to be multiple windscreen chips and am told it is unroadworthy - meaning it would require rectification - there's a rectification guide that was not used!
Additional chip is on drivers side making it unroadworthy. condition report identifies only the one on passenger side.
Spoke to [name removed], offered no compensation or couldn't even apologize. Didn't have the condition report/information in front of him and was rude in his tone of voice. Very poor customer service considering $19k had been spent.
Pickles Auction has the worst online bidding system i ever seen.
After spending hours viewing their cars. I trusted them saying that their online bidding would be the same as if was to their auction physical location.
After 5 minutes of auction their system went down and even worse. Pickles didn't stopped the auction. They carried that on with only those that were on their site. A total disrespect towards those clients who trusted their words.
Never purchase a car from here!!!!
I bought a Hyundai i30 on fixed price and as soon as I drove it out after paying the full price the tyre pressure light came on. After a lot of run around I found out the sensor was faulty and had been faulty prior to them selling me the car however they reset it so the light wouldn’t appear. They made me go to Hyundai dealership as they said it has warranty with them and they gave me a quote of over $800 as the whole tyre and sensor in that tyre had to be replaced. Pickles initially refused to pay however after running around for several days ...they agreed to pay only to then m continue to stall me for several days assuming they wanted my 7 day buy back to expire so their legal obligation would expire also. Eventually I returned the car on the final day of the 7 day buy back for them to not refund me all the cost I have made directly to them even though the contract stated the would. Still in the process of dealing with this issue and getting the full amount of money refunded. Don’t buy from here they’ll sell you a faulty vehicle and make it impossible for you to get a full refund if returned!
Live bidding crashed,
I wasted nearly 1 hour and 30 minutes online for ebidding. The auction resulted in internal server error.
My experience with pickle isn't great. They sell salvage written off vehicles to the Public, while these lots should only be sold to licensed dismentalor (wreckers).
Pickles Live Offline for Canberra Hail Auction
Trying to bid online for Canberra Hail Auction but their Online bidding portal is down again - so now people can only bid at the physical auction. This stinks - it's an absolute scam and outrageous behaviour on Pickles behalf. Should never have wasted my time with this company.
Over a week for a response...to be told they can not help!!!
Customer service of Pickles Auction is absolutely appalling. Contacted Pickles via the phone and followed up with an email that day. Finally received a response over a week later (after countless calls/emails) to finally be told...no can not help - even though they agreed to help a week earlier. Do not waste your time with this company....

Scammers to the max
I bought a 2012 Mitsubishi Triton from the Sunshine Depo in Melbourne. Paid $10500 plus fees. Flew in from Adelaide with my wife and young daughter to pick it up. The description said all was good and driveable. Picked up the car on Friday morning and by Saturday it started dripping diesel. Mechanic said we could drive it back to Adelaide slowly so we started our drive. We stopped at Ballarat to find the passenger side of car had diesal all down the side. Had to stay in Ballarat a night before we drove back to Melbourne. I took it to a mechani...c in Melbourne who fixed the issue so that we could drive it back to Adelaide. That took a couple of days. Started the drive on Wednesday only to break down 37 km from Horsham. Called RAA who organised a tow to Horsham. The timing belt snapped which in turn has caused other issues. We are now stuck in Horsham with a car that doesn't drive. Now we have to organize the car to be transported to Adelaide. This bomb is costing us so much money. You would think that paying that much for a car you would get something decent. This car has so many issues. What are you going to do about it Pickles?? Answer your phone. Have been trying to call you.

Seamless transaction using the DIYinspect app.
Using the DIYinspect app, I followed the simple steps as directed and lodged my vehicle for an appraisal.
A few hours later I received a decent offer.
After accepting the offer, I received some paperwork and returned it. All got approved.
Drove my car to Geebung and on arrival signed a receipt and received payment into my account.
Simple, professional and worth considering.
My car was taken to pickles after being written off, the company was meant to send me the contents of my car, which they did, but only SOME of the things. I attempted to contact the company via email asking for the missing items, but didn't hear anything back. Not happy.
Watch out for the list of huge pickles fees added on to auction bid prices.
Beware of 3 huge pickles fees. Here is an actual example, I bid in a Pickles live auction through the internet & won a $1400 old car. Check out these actual fees, they are a ripoff. On the invoice there were 4 charges, $1400 for the car plus 3 big fees added on. The first fee is an admin fee of $66 plus a second $110 fee just for bidding on the internet plus an even higher third fee of $189 called a processing fee. Total of $365 in extra fees added on just for buying one $1400 car. Be aware, if you buy more than one car you'll pay all 3 of t...hese high fees on every car you buy. Also the internet bidding fee and processing fee will increase with higher bid prices. These fees are not in plain view, they are tucked away probably so buyers wont be put off bidding when they see these huge grabs for money. Buy from manheim auction or graysonline, they are more upfront with fees and their fees are much lower on similar value purchases.

Previous posters mention a ‘7 day buy back offer’. Have looked at FAQ’s on your site & can’t find any mention of this. Does it still operate? Is it for cars bought at Auction? What are the terms & conditions associated with this? Can you send me links to these areas. Have found getting to talk on phone to someone at Pickles Sydney not easy, calls not returned but understand everyone is busy tho. Thanks GD
The 7 day buy back is only for the fixed price cars. That is why their price is high. The auctions are you get what you get. But you need to be careful as you can usually get a similar car from a car dealer for much the same price. Occasionally a bargain auctions cheap but you have to be on the ball to get it. For the average Joe best just scour carsales.com and you will get a better deal with warranty from a dealer or a good private sale that you can get checked out by a mechanic before you buy. Hope that helps.

Thanks for your enquiry.
David is at least correct about the 7 Day Buy Back Offer only being available through our PicklesGO service (Fixed Price). However this offer is not applicable to all PicklesGO cars, it depends on the vendor and the best suggestion is to ask our staff about whether a specific asset you are interested in has this offer.
For more details on the 7 Day Buy Back offer please refer to this link on our website: https://www.pickles.com.au/about/Terms-And-Conditions/7-day-Buy-Back-Offer
FYI, we survey our customers regularly (weekly in fact) and of the thousands of responses we receive the most common and frequent comment(s) we get for why they liked their PicklesGO buying experience was 'Ease or Easy' and 'Value'.
I do apologise that you have found it difficult to make contact with our branch, we are normally quite busy and especially so during these times, but we should be at least responding to your messages. Keep trying and I would expect you will make contact.
All the best, Pickles Cx
Why has pickles got a rule if you buy a salvaged vehicle or boat it must be removed by a tow truck
operator seems to me some one is getting a back hander I thought once you paid for it , it became
your property and it's not up to them to tell you that you carn't remove it unless it's by a tow truck if
you can remove it yourself you should not be forced to pay through nose for tow truck
