Quality and comfort
I have purchased 4 Planet shoes over the years. The 3 boots were all true to size though in the sandals I had to return for a smaller size. Process to exchange was simple. Unfortunately after a month or so the elastic came unstitched on the sandals but my mum kindly stitched it back. Though they are looking a bit worn after a few years, the 3pr of boots ars still going strong. I wear one pr nearly daily in Winter and have done for around 5 years. I need a new pair but it's hard to find a similar style.
Cheaply made shoes with very inflated price tag
Their boots are very lightweight made with very thin leather covering a synthetic shoe body. I have worn the Maddy boot for a couple of years and the toe has just ripped finally revealing what I had suspected all along was underneath. They are NOT the best boots and NOT AT ALL worth the price they charge for them. For around $200 usually you can buy very good quality boots/shoes. These are nowhere near being 'very good quality' but are passable. The fit is not snug and feels like they've modelled them on something other than a foot.....cannot q...uite explain or account for it but if you've ever tried them on you will know what I mean! I just bought another pair-Punter-because I'm a sucker for that kind of style boot and they are very hard to come by in Australia. Considered returning them.....but will maybe keep them. Have not fully decided yet. Also the Maddy I had to get a size 10 to fit my foot so ordered the same in the Punter. This time it's too big...so seems inconsistent sizing across the styles. Or my foot has shrunk:'D I don't recommend buying Planet. But if you do..this type of experience is definitely what you'll get!
Quality has dropped
I’ve been buying planet shoes boots for a few years now. They don’t last as long as they used to and a pair of boots I bought to replace a pair the dog chewed are literally different sizes even through they’re marked as the same size.
....initially the tops felt a bit hard and pressed on top of the foot but now they are worn in a bit they are pretty comfortable. I don't think I would pay over $100 for them though. These cost me $60nzd so I'm pretty happy with them.
Navy Potsy boots - fantastic!
I normally wear doc marten boots but they got a bit heavy as I was struggling with arthritis. I bought a pair of navy Potsy boots from planet shoes and wear them all the time! No problem with delivery and the boots are really comfortable!
Sort of Ok
I bought a pair of leather boots, wanting style, quality and comfort, I think all I got was style.
They look nice but don't seem very strong for leather. They have a flimsy light feel. After a couple days wearing they are already getting a crease across the toe area. It has nice soft padding across the back of the heel so no blisters.
It has good padding support around the heel but doesn't have any padding around the ball of the foot and the inner sole around the front feels thin and hard and not soft and padded like the back. Doesn't have ...enough cushioning and it felt hard when walking. Not very comfortable for me. Feel these shoes are overpriced for what you get and am not sure that they will last very long. Overall has a nice style, but not enough comfort and strength. These boots are sort of ok, but not exactly what I want. Don't think I'll buy any shoes from this brand again.
Planet shoes seem to have changed
I purchased a new pair of my favourite brand of shoes "PLANET" just recently.
Sadly the foot bed inner sole is not longer like it used to be and the very reason I have stayed loyal to this brand over the Years. I am disappointed with the newer foot bed it is no longer as resilient as it used to be. It used to have the most amazing cushioning which made you feel like you were walking on a cloud. Now when you press it, it seems thin and it feels like you are walking on a hard floor and no longer has that quality cushioning that was so comfortable. It is a shame that is has changed.
I have worn planet shoes for years and I was very happy with my shoes but have found them to be inconsistent with sizing and not value for dollar. I have reverted back to a $25 sandals and my feet are much happier. I wont be buying them again, think before spending you money
Inventory does not match website
Online order - I found three shoes on sale that I wanted to purchase - over $380 worth of product. Ordered online and everything went through ok. I received an email stating one pair was out of stock and received an apology that the online order went through but due to an issue with inventory they were unable to provide my product. This was very disappointing but not a huge problem because I was happy they notified me and refunded me so quickly - they did notify me in a very reasonable timeframe however it should not have happened. Their packin...g and delivery timeframe is pretty poor. Be mindfull that if a product is showing as "in stock" on their website it may not be the case. Also, don't expect a normal online delivery timeframe as this company is quite slow. We'll see how they fit when they finally get here...
Not as good as use to be
I have worn Planet Shoes for years but have noticed the last 2 years, quality is not like it use to be. I now only pick them up on sell-out, as that is the price I think they are only worth now. They don't tend to last like they use to, so no use spending $150-$220 & they only last one season, like happened to me with two lots of winter boots from Planet. Shame as their footbed is like no other, especially since I've had a lot of back surgery.
