they took my 2000 deposit and presented me a set of tender drawings to sign and pay. however, i found their plans has some shadow problems to impact my neighbourhood's site, i noticed them several times so that i did not sign their drawings at all. But, they submitted their drawings by theirselves to the council without a notice to me in advance. the result was that they did not get proof at all. they were supposed to be professionals and should know their plans did not fit my site in advance. my site is located in a new developed area. it is n...

After that, they rejected to return my deposit and also refused that i changed to some other options. they told me to pay another 2000 deposit to swap to a small house. this matter made me sick for a long time. whenever i think of this, i felt so dumped. this is my first home and my language is not that good. i have to pay some IQ tax.- Customer Service

Front of line sales personal were fantastic however due to a design option being unavailable for 6-8 months we now will not build with them as this is too long to wait. Upper management would not budge on bringing this forward or doing a one off custom variation. Unhappy customer

We are in the process of building our first home, and have loved our experience with PD through the sales process. We found the sales team to be knowledgable, responsive, and agile as we worked through the quote phase.
We are currently working with the World of Style team, and our building co-ordinator to lock in the final details for contract.
Again, each of these teams have been professional, responsive, and knowledgable.
HOWEVER - my caution to anyone working through the sales process with PD, is to lock in all structural changes during t...
Read morehe sales process. I have found it unnecessarily costly to make even minor changes during this contracting stage, as their processes are not setup to manage structural changes efficiently at this stage. This does make me feel like PD do not have our back, and we'll certainly be adding extra diligence as we review the actual contract.- Customer Service

We have built our dream home with Porter Davis we spent a lot of time on the planning and have chosen everything from Porter Davis including Blinds. After the build completed they have handed over the home to my friend as they could not wait for one week for me to arrive from Sydney( I was in Quarantine).
There are a lot of issues still pending from the last 8 months after the Handover. I contacted the people responsible they always say due to covid it will take some time. Now it's been more than 3 months after relaxing the restrictions but sti...

Porter Davis were easy to contact and quick to respond throughout the entire build, however once the house had been handed over, all communication stopped. We built our home two years ago and have been trying to resolve some issues regarding two faulty windows. We've dealt with 5 different new home care coordinators in the past 2 years and still no resolution. We have sent numerous emails and each time a receive a response from a different coordinator who tells us they will look into the issue but will eventually stop responding to our emails. We feel like we've exhausted all avenues in trying to get our windows fixed. For anyone who is considering building with Porter Davis, we strongly advise not to.

Unsatisfied with the build so far, incomplete kitchen, leftover construction waste on driveway,
Among other several issues, incomplete splashback in the kitchen is a deal braker for us. The house (not the display home, actual home) we were shown by PD sales rep and what we saw on PorterDavis youtube videos, splashback tiles were even on both left and right hand sides. But in our house we are missing tiles on the left side which make it look ugly and incomplete. Upon asking our construction supervisor, we were told that he only got those many tiles and he will see what can be done. We'll be unhappy if this issue is not fixed.

Read moree which is frustrating is the site clean as our driveway space is messy and mixture of concrete, stones, rubbish etc. We were told again this is the standard PorterDavis final clean. Surprisingly the next door property is finishing at the same time and their cleaning is way better than ours. When i asked my construction supervisor if he can make it as clean as the other builders are doing in the neighborhood. He said he'll talk to the headoffice/management and will get back to me. I feel sorry for the construction supervisor who might want to help but PorterDavis as a organisation letting him and the customer down. I'll update this review again once the handover is done. Planned handover date was mid December-2020 OTHER ISSUES (To be listed): 1. My request to fix the kitchen splashback is not honored and i am told PorterDavis will not fix that 2. Not happy with the handover cleaning. I am told this is PorterDavis's builder clean and i have to hire someone else to do proper clean. I have requested the supervisor to make it clean before handover and will let you know if this is honored or not i. Permit Number: CBSU60948/4490241222230 ii. I have had a bad experience with Porter Davis towards end. Towards handover stage i have been brutally pushed back into accepting a defective house and phone call from head of customer experience and site supervisor were designed for accepting a defective house. Reached to CEO to Porter Davis, Head of Customer experience and Site Supervisor. Except CEO all phone calls are push back into accepting a defective home without real actions from head of customer experience or chief site supervisor. I was not impressed with the phone calls from head of customer experience and Chief Site supervisor who were like just accept the home or we cannot do anything. CEO and junior levels have been better comparatively.

Poor slab engineering, low quality building constructions materials (Bricks, plaster board and appliances)
Since 2011, every year having same cracks at same spots, even bricks started cracking due to slab's wrong engineering design, lots of movements with the building resulted cracks everywhere even roof has big cracks on it. It has been repaired couple of times but come back again.its seems some has done mistakes with engineering of slab.

This will be a lengthy review and for those who don’t have the time or the inclination, we’ll make it very clear from the outset. We could not in good conscience ever recommend this builder to anyone based on the experience we have had. Forget about respecting the dream. Porter Davis has made the experience of building our first new home the opposite of a dream. In reading the number of positive reviews, I can only imagine that the majority of new homeowners building with Porter Davis are not getting enough independent inspections to really un...
Read morederstand the quality of the build that they are getting. To be fair, there were some positives along the way and we will highlight these during the review these however, the issues and frustrations were so significant and so numerous that the overall experience was very negative. We will absolutely never build with Porter Davis again, and it is unlikely that we will ever build again, based on this experience. Following will be just some examples of the issues that we have faced with our build along the way. After handover, and after some more thorough checking by professionals, I’ll be freely making available a very comprehensive document which details every issue we have faced, and points out tips and tricks that anyone building a home with a volume builder should be aware of and some advice on how to avoid the horrendous experience that we have had. Currently, the document span 130 pages and includes clear photos demonstrating the workmanship. We quite simply do not want anyone else to have the same experience that we have had. If you are already underway with a build with Porter Davis, the strongest advice we can give you is to get a very reputable independent inspector, and undertake inspections at every stage. It will save you thousands of dollars in the long run. The ‘recommended’ inspectors that they put in front of you at the contract stage are effectively in the pocket of the builder and are recommended for a reason. To give you an example, our inspection of the site cut was a drive by inspection. The photo taken of the site was taken from the footpath through the temporary fencing. The inspector didn’t set foot on the actual block. We have evidence of this. Following are only some of the main issues that we faced, to give you some idea of what you are potentially dealing with. To give this context, it is important that you understand we undertook a knock down and rebuild in the inner eastern suburbs of Melbourne and as a result, were advised that we would be getting the best building supervisor and trades available given we were building a ‘prestige’ home. In the end, the building supervisor was professional and genuinely tried to turn our experience around, and appeared genuinely disappointed and frustrated with the issues that we faced during the build, and really did try. He was one of the very few positives in the whole experience. World of style process was a nightmare. There were so many errors in the documentation that we were provided that we had to repeatedly go back to check carefully, and update the documents to ensure that our choices were accurately reflected. Despite calling out the errors by page number and by actual item, and by providing them with the actual correct detail, we still received documentation returned to us with exactly the same errors in place. Fixed cost prices mysteriously increased and some ‘credits’ or included items such as ovens and cooktops that we chose not to proceed were initially added as costs rather than credits. The delays were so significant in just getting the contractual paperwork right that this resulted in a delay of our build of some 4 months. An update of errors of an electrical document of 2 lines took 6 weeks to be returned to us, and still was not correct at the time of contract signing and needed to be sent to us after contract signing to avoid further delays with the commencement of the build. It’s important that you understand the significant financial impact that this had. These delays based on the administrative incompetence of the building coordinator of Porter Davis and not getting the initial approvals from our neighbours in a timely manner pushed our site start back by almost 6 months. As a result, we exceeded the initial term of our rental home, needed to pack up and move into another rental property and to take out another rental contract for a further 12 month period (nobody would take a six-month rental contract) and so effectively, this has added around $40,000 to the cost of our build.- Customer Service

We are currently doing a knockdown & rebuild with PD. It's our first time building a house and we weren't familiar with the process of even some of the technical terms. Initially we were quite happy during the sales and contract stages. But once we were in the "Build" stage we started seeing a lot of 'issues' - for example we requested a certain facade during sales (and were charged $10,000 for it) but what we had got was something that didnt even include basic items such as Eaves around the house. Eaves were only included to part of the front...
Read more of the front facade (as we realised during build). The downstairs doors were not the same height, fridge space way too small. Ofcourse the house was built to tender spec (and I can't complain about that). It's not possible for laymen like us to review 100's of pages and identify these minute items. Isn't it a rip off to show a facade on paper and then many of the items to become optional 'extras'? and the best part of not even being clearly at tender told what's included/excluded from what was shown during sales. We clearly communicated that we wanted a certain facade and expected PD to call out if things were indeed considered 'extras'. I could clearly understand things like double glazing, cooling, ceiling heights etc to be extras. We lookup to PD as the 'experts' and expect the staff at tender/contract to ask the right questions. We don't know what's included/excluded as part of their standard offering. We are not happy at all (with how things were done at sales/contract stages), and I don't recommend them for anyone who's building a house for the 1st time unless you're very familiar with house construction. It appears PD has attempted to cut costs and not build a quality home even though it cost us ~500k- Customer Service

Our house in the Torquay area was completed last June and we moved in mid July. There were delays and issues with the build.Since we have moved in there have been various issues of great concern regarding poor workmanship and poor response from Supervisors. We had to contact New Home Care in late October as we hadn’t been contacted for an inspection. Finally an inspection was organised for November, but we were told no repairs could be done until the New Year, finally in February after several phone calls from us some repairs were done.It is stil...
Read morel an ongoing problem for us with plumbing ,paint work, broken toilet seat, doors ,windows etc and most of all tiles and disgraceful grout work.We have sent photos of all our concerns to our Supervisor as we need all areas of tiles re grouted. The reply has been bad luck PD will not re grouted. As customers of a new build and as older owners we feel angry and very disappointed with PD and having built two other houses ,this is our worst experience.Would never recommend PD.As we live in a new Estate area, we have become friendly with other residents who have built with numerous other builders.I have seen the good workmanship of those houses. Our house has had the MOST problems and still not rectified. We feel that unless work is carried out to our satisfaction by PD we will have to seek legal advice to rectify problems- Customer Service

Read more a “goodwill” the paintwork would be re done in certain areas! Not really “goodwill” rather necessary as some areas of paint work had problems. The drains in our en-suite and bathroom are still an ongoing issue as they block all the time ,and according to PD need to be cleaned out every week.I have never had this issue with drains in any previous houses,it’s basically cheap poor design. After the inspection both of the PD people summarised and checked with myself, and two family members as to the work that would be done by tradesmen on Tuesday 2/6/2020.When the tradespeople came on Tuesday they told us that yes all regrouting was to be done except shower areas in bathrooms!!!!! Why? This was NEVER said to us on the previous day,and even though I have sent an email asking for clarification of this,I have not received a reply. The poor quality grouting is in ALL tiled areas ,it doesn’t change and become a good job in the shower areas!!!!! I have photos and also went again to a PD display house in Armstrong g Creek and checked grouting. All grouting areas were up to standard, not ours.I don’t understand why PD cannot accept that if something is poorly done,it needs to be fixed as it only benefits not only us the customers but also PD profile. We will definitely pursue the regrouting of our shower areas ,but certainly wouldn’t recommend PD to anyone!Hi Nina Vassallo,

I will provide a detailed review on Porter Davis which may help few people before deciding to go with them.
Pre- Construction stage : I was amazed with the service provided by the sales agent. He never pushed me to sign up with them, every single detail things were explained as it was our first house. He also gave some very good tips on what to get as add ons and what not to add from porter davis.
Infact, he answered our calls few time at around 9:00 PM as well. I will give him 10/10.
Next was building co-ordinator : We really had hard times ...
Read moredealing with co-ordinator. Firstly, she was not experienced had lack of knowledge and expertise not sure how she landed up getting a job. She never respond to any of our phone calls. And I had go through all that agony for almost 1 year dealing with her. She rarely responded to our emails. She did not knew the building guidelines for our area and I had to go through 100 pages of guidelines by myself and had to explain her. I raised a concern about her to her manager and she was of no help and never assisted us. Next stage was CONSTRUCTION : Our built quality is fairly decent as compared to few other houses I have seen. However, dealing with building supervisor was not easy. Firstly, we had 3 different supervisor changed without any communications. Secondly, they made a mistake in our entire kitchen with different laminantes and sink position not placed correctly . Supervisor from PD was trying to blame me for their mistakes. Fortunately, I had everything on formal document to prove them otherwise. Eventually it took them extra 2 months to fix the issue. To check the progress of house every-time we have to adjust our time and they were not flexible with timings on when can we inspect. Overall, it was hard to deal with our supervisor as he never done any houses apart from display homes.- Customer Service

Can someone please tell me the exact name of carpet when they order from FlooringXtra. I am trying to order a sample but unfortunately can’t the it as the website has completely different name. We have chosen “Cut Pile Palandri Steel 2142 PET” at our WOS.
