they took my 2000 deposit and presented me a set of tender drawings to sign and pay. however, i found their plans has some shadow problems to impact my neighbourhood's site, i noticed them several times so that i did not sign their drawings at all. But, they submitted their drawings by theirselves to the council without a notice to me in advance. the result was that they did not get proof at all. they were supposed to be professionals and should know their plans did not fit my site in advance. my site is located in a new developed area. it is n...
Read moreot that complicated in technique aspects. After that, they rejected to return my deposit and also refused that i changed to some other options. they told me to pay another 2000 deposit to swap to a small house. this matter made me sick for a long time. whenever i think of this, i felt so dumped. this is my first home and my language is not that good. i have to pay some IQ tax.We didn't find anything special from PD reputed builder ,comperatively pricy for reputation but service as ordinary as others. We have highlighted window in 2 bedrooms no one mentioned during contract or tender ,once we find out too late . So we have dark room but we could have bright and sunny room . My recommendation check your design and drawing again and again don't expect anyone care about you :(
However My site manager was very responsive , He helps to fix numerous issues and poor workmanship from contractors and always
answer whatever questions we had .

I am building with Porter Davis and I wrote my first review in September 2021. I was very impressed with the pre-build process. I had planned to write a review every three months but it has been slow progress with building material and labour shortage, and the COVID in the community causing delays.
The frame is now completed and wrapped, ready for brickwork. At last, what I conceptualised and could only see in my imagination is starting to take shape. While at this stage, I cannot make any comments about the quality of the work, I am confiden...

We were extremely disappointed only at the very end of our build. Because of the three weeks wait from PCI prior to handover with many items still outstanding after re-inspection. However, Porter Davis sent their site manager to assist their building supervisor to finish off the remaining items in a timely manner. Thank you.

1. Presales Phase - New Home Confirmation
We shortlisted 2 major volume builders and chosen the best floor plan. Compared the cost associated with each builder and chosen the Porter Davis because of its floor plan which suits our block and our requirements.
2. Tender Phase
The tender process was happening in March 2020 at the start of the pandemic; therefore the presentation was done over Zoom (virtual) meeting. Since the start of the tender phase, we have had 4 building coordinators. The first 3 BC were good at chasing payments from us but not...

I don't know how people rate PDH houses 4 star. Our house is nearly completed. I can see a lot of defects and workmanship is poor. No communication from site superviser. From independent inspection report, nearly 100 items are required to be fixed. Garage door can'tr close properly, three batten lights over island bench in difference distance, cabinet doors not in line, weid retaining wall etc! Too many issues to mention. I really recommend to hire independent inspector to check before handover!

So far good. It could have been better knowing I’m dealing with big brand Porter Davis. Honestly my experience for Pre-site so far is being roller coaster, started very good and smooth with sales, tender, WOS and Contract. After that they took over 3 months to provide us final drawing, it was so stressful noting our final drawing came with few structure mismatches which we never agreed and signed in our contract drawing. I’m glad they all rectified promptly after escalation and we are on construction stage. I am hoping very positive outcome from going forward during our build process.
Hi Raj Patel,
Thanks for the review. It's great to hear of the positive impact the sales, tender, World of Style and contract stages had during your pre-site building journey. Building a home is a hug...

Front of line sales personal were fantastic however due to a design option being unavailable for 6-8 months we now will not build with them as this is too long to wait. Upper management would not budge on bringing this forward or doing a one off custom variation. Unhappy customer

We are in the process of building our first home, and have loved our experience with PD through the sales process. We found the sales team to be knowledgable, responsive, and agile as we worked through the quote phase.
We are currently working with the World of Style team, and our building co-ordinator to lock in the final details for contract.
Again, each of these teams have been professional, responsive, and knowledgable.
HOWEVER - my caution to anyone working through the sales process with PD, is to lock in all structural changes during t...
Read morehe sales process. I have found it unnecessarily costly to make even minor changes during this contracting stage, as their processes are not setup to manage structural changes efficiently at this stage. This does make me feel like PD do not have our back, and we'll certainly be adding extra diligence as we review the actual contract.Hi Gavin R,

We have built our dream home with Porter Davis we spent a lot of time on the planning and have chosen everything from Porter Davis including Blinds. After the build completed they have handed over the home to my friend as they could not wait for one week for me to arrive from Sydney( I was in Quarantine).
There are a lot of issues still pending from the last 8 months after the Handover. I contacted the people responsible they always say due to covid it will take some time. Now it's been more than 3 months after relaxing the restrictions but sti...

Porter Davis were easy to contact and quick to respond throughout the entire build, however once the house had been handed over, all communication stopped. We built our home two years ago and have been trying to resolve some issues regarding two faulty windows. We've dealt with 5 different new home care coordinators in the past 2 years and still no resolution. We have sent numerous emails and each time a receive a response from a different coordinator who tells us they will look into the issue but will eventually stop responding to our emails. We feel like we've exhausted all avenues in trying to get our windows fixed. For anyone who is considering building with Porter Davis, we strongly advise not to.

I received my new home in Dec 2020, there are several PCI items which are still outstanding plus 90 day warranty new home care related issues which Porter Davis site supervisor has been constantly notified and is conveniently ignoring, 1300 warranty care number is not responded by anyone majority of the times however been able to speak to someone last week and she said she will get new home care team member to call but no response. Their are some very urgent matters which are due including leakage but no one is willing to assist. This kind of s...

From the start to finish, mostly has a lot of non compliance and defects. Were told that they will fix it
all promises and mostly covered up, At he end supervisor admit us that fixing most of the defects will cause damage to entire house. Please don't built with porter Davis.

Unsatisfied with the build so far, incomplete kitchen, leftover construction waste on driveway,
Among other several issues, incomplete splashback in the kitchen is a deal braker for us. The house (not the display home, actual home) we were shown by PD sales rep and what we saw on PorterDavis youtube videos, splashback tiles were even on both left and right hand sides. But in our house we are missing tiles on the left side which make it look ugly and incomplete. Upon asking our construction supervisor, we were told that he only got those many tiles and he will see what can be done. We'll be unhappy if this issue is not fixed.
Another issu...
Read moree which is frustrating is the site clean as our driveway space is messy and mixture of concrete, stones, rubbish etc. We were told again this is the standard PorterDavis final clean. Surprisingly the next door property is finishing at the same time and their cleaning is way better than ours. When i asked my construction supervisor if he can make it as clean as the other builders are doing in the neighborhood. He said he'll talk to the headoffice/management and will get back to me. I feel sorry for the construction supervisor who might want to help but PorterDavis as a organisation letting him and the customer down. I'll update this review again once the handover is done. Planned handover date was mid December-2020 OTHER ISSUES (To be listed): 1. My request to fix the kitchen splashback is not honored and i am told PorterDavis will not fix that 2. Not happy with the handover cleaning. I am told this is PorterDavis's builder clean and i have to hire someone else to do proper clean. I have requested the supervisor to make it clean before handover and will let you know if this is honored or not i. Permit Number: CBSU60948/4490241222230 ii. Contract Number: PX609918Hi Steve81,

I have had a bad experience with Porter Davis towards end. Towards handover stage i have been brutally pushed back into accepting a defective house and phone call from head of customer experience and site supervisor were designed for accepting a defective house. Reached to CEO to Porter Davis, Head of Customer experience and Site Supervisor. Except CEO all phone calls are push back into accepting a defective home without real actions from head of customer experience or chief site supervisor. I was not impressed with the phone calls from head of customer experience and Chief Site supervisor who were like just accept the home or we cannot do anything. CEO and junior levels have been better comparatively.

My wife and I have just paid our 2K (non-refundable) deposit after sales quotation and waiting to go into tender appointment - our sales guy seemed nice enough, we asked him several times that we wanted a quote that is as close to what we would expect at tender as we are already stretched with budget - assured as that final tender quote shouldn't go over 6K - 7K... QUESTION - Has anyone had any nasty surprises at tender where final price has been ridiculously over the initial sales quote?
Can someone please tell me what tile is used on the floor of Liverpool 25 display home at Sedge st clyde
Hi PD,
I am planing to buy a property from PD off the plan. I am wondering even if there is a 14 days finance clause, are there any payments still if the finance is not approved?
