A nice entry point into the housing market
The build was relatively well managed, although I felt there was a lack of communication throughout the entire process, especially in the mid - late stages. Early in the construction phase I received email updates of the build, all of which soon dissipated after the first few months. I only heard from Porter Davis again when I was due to attend a 'final walkthrough', when there was no 'initial walkthrough' to identify any issues. The rectification works were then made the week prior to settlement, and were still in progress the day after settle...ment was supposed to take place. Despite the confirmation of settlement from my bank and solicitor, there was an utter lack of communication again, and I had to follow up with Porter Davis to confirm they had received payment. I did not receive my keys until the following afternoon after no communication with the site supervisor the day after settlement, who I again had to follow up with, which I felt was very unprofessional. The last week of the build was extremely stressful due to the lack of communication. Having started moving in, I witnessed a contractor gluing my mail-box down, something which should have been done before I settled and moved in, again, very unprofessional. Although relatively happy with the quality of my property, I can see there were 'rush jobs', and the quality of painting (walls and stairs) was something that suffered.

Not a very enjoyable first home experience.
From the very beginning we had issues with the staff of Porter Davis. When we first decided to build with PD we did did so under the premise we could go to the world of style and design the interior of our house from the selection provided there. Shortly after (once we had paid an initial deposit) we were advised by PD staff that this option is now no longer available and we had a choice of 4 different colour boards to choose from. We then chose a colour board form those four and returned to PD with our choice. We were then told, those colour b...oards were not available anymore and we had a choice of two completely different colour boards. Only when we threatened to withdraw from building with PD did they obliged and gave us our original colour board selection. The entire contract signing process was arduous as their were numerous errors within the contract which needed to be amended prior to our signature. We were promised that the building would start in November 2017 and we would be residing in our new home by June 2018. November rolled around and we received no communication from PD about making a start on our new home. The first communication we received from PD was in April 2018 when they finally began the building process. We tried on numerous occasions to contact our building coordinator and our response from PD staff was that she was out of office and to contact her colleague who failed to return any of our phone calls also. Once the build actually began (5 months later than originally stated) we were provided invoices at each stage but were never contacted by our site manager to visit the site (as per policy). We were then transferred to a new site manager and things began promising. He told us we would be in within the next 12 days (Middle of October) but continued to blame the delays of the build on the previous site manager and continually expressed his contempt for having to do this job. 12 days later there had not been much progress at all on the house and it was evident we weren't even close to moving in. Settlement date was then confirmed and then reconfirmed on at least 3 occasions, each time meaning we had to reorganise current leases and removals. Upon closing in on the next settlement date we made an impromptu visit to find the house unsecured and the entire wrong floor boards laid. We then went out of our way to drive to world of style and confirm that this was the case. Upon identifying the issue with our site manager he tried to claim that they were the right floor boards and that we were wrong. This issue was eventually rectified and the correct floor boards (as per our contract) were laid. Settlement was arranged and we organised our bank to meet up at the house to do their final checks, the bank staff liaised with our site manager to arrange a date and time to do their final check. The bank staff were left abandoned by our site manager and was forced to reschedule due to the site manager not being available (after an appt was confirmed). Settlement date arrived and we met the site manager on a Monday at our home only to find the glass splash back was not installed. We still went through the house and did the final inspection to identify paint touch ups and alike and agreed to handover after all issues were rectified. Most issues were rectified in a few days and we re organised removals, unfortunately we were then contacted by the site manager and told the splash back was cut to the wrong size again. This was out of his control and an unfortunate situation, but once again delayed handover. Finally the day arrived for hand over and we met with the site managers boss to hand over keys. We did a final walk through and brought to attention a few minor issues to rectify but were happy to hand over. We handed over on the 16th Nov (5 months later) and are now still waiting those small issues to be rectified. Apart from what is mentioned above we are genuinely happy with the quality of the build, our frustrations were more fuelled from the staff of PD.

Flexible with floorplan, bad service
Update March 2019:. Initial review wrote in late November 2018.
We got handover after week 1 of December, and only just it our child into the local school.
Then came 3 months of following up to get things fixed, which should have been done properly in the first place. Terrible experience, they just shirk responsibility and blame blame customer where they can. After paying $600k, I am more than disappointed by the way we have been treated. Our home was a 'prestige' range home, but the service and quality feels like cattle class. Thoroughly i...

Great support from site supervisor!
We build our home with Porter Davis recently. During the completion stage, we had to to move in our new home earlier than a scheduled date. I discussed with our site supervisor - Michael - and requested the home to be handovered a week prior the set date. Michael was very helpful and doing his best to assist us with our issue. There were a huge amount of jobs need to be done in order the complete the house earlier than expected bit the site supervisor was really amazing and able to make it happened. Once again, thank you so much for your help a...nd we would recommended Porter Davis to all of my friends who wish to build their dream home in the future! April 29th 2019 Update: Bad experience after the Handover. There were a few issues after the handover but Site Supervisor just disappeared after since. I've been trying to contact him on several occasions in attempt to solve the problems but nothing has been done properly. Not very happy about after built services.

House built in 2014- Shower flooring issues for 3 years- 2020 update **** Has taken 6 Months to replace shower
06 May- as mentioned below- there was ongoing bathroom issues even 3 years after the building had been completed. Finally, in mid-2018 all had been fixed. Or so we thought!!!
In October 2019 we requested for PorterDavies to look at a leak in the garage....water was falling on the power points. It was detected that the leak was coming from the shower!!!
As of 23 April 2020 ( 6 months later) the shower has apparently been completed) !!
Real estate agency that looks after rentals have described it as “the longest its ever taken to fix something that they are aware of”.
Yes, there was the challenge of having a tenant coordinate times with tradies and the COVID period since March......but 6 months is just unacceptable!!!...We had to compensate the tenant and their family for having only one shower as opposed to two. ************************************************************************************************************ Review left in 2017 Overall great experience. Great communication Quality build Home built On-time Great customer service Porter Davies world of style centre was convenient and offered great choices and upgrades and was fairly accommodating, flexible Negatives- post-build inspection.....provided a list of minor issues eg paint touch-ups etc...it took various emails and 3 months to action items. 3 years in- still having some bathroom issues, along with some facade issues (staining), gutter leaks... but I guess every new house has some sort of issue or issues. Overall, they have been willing to look at the issue and try to rectify it That’s all I can ask.
