My experience so far - poor service with constant delays and errors
I have recently finalised the contract stage with Porter Davis and have been disappointed with the poor service at every stage of the process. My phone calls and emails are not responded to for days, sometimes even a week. There have been repeated errors in documentation, meetings are cancelled without any notification and service standards are not adhered to. I feel like I have a new job with the amount of time I spend following them and trying to keep them on schedule. They clearly do not have adequate staff to resource the business and a... Whilst I am still very happy with the house design and plans, my service experience means I could not recommend this builder. I hope my build experience is significantly better.Avoid them at all cost
I signed a contract with them for a house and land package in March 2021, lots of delays, they provide No updates. I mailed them several times they don’t respond to emails.Not forgetting the misleading advertisement about completion dates and time frames , when I bought with them and signed contract they said it will be completed by 3rd quarter 2022.Now we are in January 2023 still no site start of updates. Misleading time frames and poor completion according to promised time frame, plus poor communication and updates. During the whole process.

Terrible attitude Zero Customer Service
From day one and all the way through (Slab Not Even Down yet) Worst experience, from the people in the display suite, to the people at Port Melbourne, to the Project Manager, the onsite manager and area/regional manager. No one ever gets back to you or returns your calls or emails. Having to follow up all the time, with no reply. Found many "mistakes" on the plans, things not agreed on. I warn off everyone that is considering these guys to build with. At one point i was even threatened that because i was "keeping them honest on their toes that they would be happy to give me my money back as i am too hard to deal with. let me translate this for you, that means that i was actually being a customer fighting for my rights. When asked they where not willing to compensate me for the interest on my land Loan or any other out of pocket expenses, including loss of income from potential rent on the old dwelling, prior to demolition.Money hungry
We had put down a deposit of $2000 on 25/8/21 and locked the house price at $534,000 Toorak design 58sq. Everything went very slowly due to lockdown (Covid-19). We were being told that there was a slight overshadowing issue. However, I had made it clear with the sales person that I wouldn’t accept a ceiling height lower than 2.7cm. So they gave me some other options to be confirmed at the Tender meeting.We attended Tender meeting on the 9/02/22. Then she confirmed back with the engineer/draft person and it was okay and approved. So we made another 3% deposit ($16,900) and signed the Tender Document. Three months had passed, just exactly 1 week before our contract signing, on the 10/05/22, I received an email from the building Co-ordinator saying that her drafting team has informed her that it wouldn’t work because of the overshadowing issue. What the hell? It was confirmed and approved by your drafting team in my Tender appointment. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have gone ahead and given you more of my money. I told the Co-ordinator that they had given me false hope and that I was not going ahead with the ceiling height of 2.44cm upstairs and 2.5cm downstairs. Without any hesitation, she accepted my withdrawal without even offering me any alternative examples, different house designs etc. A couple of days later, I got an email stating that they were charging me $7000, and would just refund me X amount. I had fought to get my hard-earned money back for weeks, going back and forth with this so called Co-ordinator, and I was extremely stressed and down. Porter Davis, you’re the builder. You were aware that your house design wouldn’t fit into my block of land, yet you still gave me false promises and stole my money. I can accept that they kept my deposit of $2000, but NOT the other $5000. Later, I found out the price of the house had risen another $13,000 from the price I had locked in. (Something smells fishy here). So guys, watch out and stay away from this builder if you don’t want to be robbed of your hard-earned money.

We have just received our Building Permit after 3 months of contract signing. It has been a smooth journey so far, thanks to our dedicated & committed BC's [Name Removed] & [Name Removed]. [Name Removed] has been handling our project at the start & she handed over to [Name Removed] mid way but both has been working very much in tandem & we had progressed very well thru the challenges occurred on the way. We are very happy with the PD Homes & this is the 2nd home we are building thru them. [Name Removed] has help us thru the journey to reach finish line to the build stage & is handing over to Site Supervisor. Expecting similar experience through out the build phase. We have just finished admin stage , pre construction we can’t complainOur Building coordinator has been excellent in keeping us up to date with emails and calls.
Any questions we had were answered straight away , worked well with our broker to finalise documents through out the process ,
We are now looking forward to the construction phase and feel at ease with our building coordinator, we hope everyone has as good a process as we’ve had,

Terrible Customer Service from day one
Disgusting customer service! After initial consultation with a "sales" person at a display home in Brisbane's Western suburbs, we were told we would have a quote in 3 days. We emailed her weekly for 4 weeks asking for our quote, with each time saying we would have it by the end of the day. (After 2 weeks we figured we were just a number with Porter Davis and found another builder). Finally after 4 weeks we were told that they couldn't build the house we wanted on our block because it wasn't a new subdivision, but tried selling us a more expensi... I believe if we didn't email them one last time after 4 weeks, we would never have heard from them again. So happy we are not building with them. It is with great disappointment that I use this avenue to express my feelings to representatives at Porter Davis. We have been in the process of designing and selecting features for our home for 10 months now, it has been a tedious process that has taken a part of our soul away, created anxiety and stress that is reflected in our day to day life. Every meeting, phone conversation and email is like a tug of war where we are at odds with the consultants as they fail to comprehend our selections and dismiss any wrongdoing on their part. It has become ever so clear that consultants are taking advantage of verbal interactions that is not documented so that they are able to deny claims they have previously made regarding prices and selections during the contract meeting and world of style meetings and have defended themselves by continuously suggesting that we are "misinterpreting" and "misunderstanding" what has been discussed during these meetings which is really disheartening and unprofessional on many levels. This leads me to highlight the level of misinformation that exists in which consultants have engaged in conduct that is misleading and deceiving as I recommend new customers record the conversations in these meetings so as to avoid any form of "misunderstanding". Will rate 0 stars but the option is not there.Not our first home that we have build so we have some idea. We decided to go ahead and build the display house at Newport. Based on the information we received from the sales person we decided to proceed. When we arrived to our colour choice appointment we discovered that 2 of our biggest upgrades are completely wrong and not the same as the display.

I have recently bought a land on which I was so eager to get a Porter Davis home as I heard good reviews about it. But the sales agent who I got stuck with never responded which plan they could build on the land. Neither did he offer any meeting slot. I sent him an email containing engineering and the plan of subdivision as he asked, 3 calls and a few messages but didn't get a proper response. they took my 2000 deposit and presented me a set of tender drawings to sign and pay. however, i found their plans has some shadow problems to impact my neighbourhood's site, i noticed them several times so that i did not sign their drawings at all. But, they submitted their drawings by theirselves to the council without a notice to me in advance. the result was that they did not get proof at all. they were supposed to be professionals and should know their plans did not fit my site in advance. my site is located in a new developed area. it is n... Don't put yourself through it!
PD were very happy to take our $2,000 deposit - that's when the problems started.There was zero communication and we were left with no option but to cancel our build and source another builder!
The concierge team are uncontactable and when we were able to contact anyone they simply lied, all the way through to National Sales Manager level!

Uncooperative upper management
Front of line sales personal were fantastic however due to a design option being unavailable for 6-8 months we now will not build with them as this is too long to wait. Upper management would not budge on bringing this forward or doing a one off custom variation. Pre-site stage of the build was good. Our Building Coordinator was knowledgeable and was able to fix issues that we encountered during the sales stage and the design stage (world of style).
