Bad customer service
I ordered 2 items online with express shipping. About 5 business days later it said the wrong information was put on the package so it was sent back to the warehouse. I contacted Portmans and they basically blamed me for them putting the wrong address on the package. I asked them to resend it. Haven’t heard anything back. It’s been 2 weeks since I made my order. Not even sure if I am getting my items. Who knows.
Stolen package from my door, Portmans were great!!
I had a package stolen from my door from Portmans, I rang Portmans with the information Aus Post gave me and the police report I got and they didn't even hesitate in offering me either a refund or replacement of the goods. Will definitely be happy to buy from the again in the future.
I bought several items from Portmans on a whim online for better quality work attire, and the shirts I chose exceeded my expectations. With their material quality being unexpectedly excellent, my items manage to be both on trend, work-appropriate, and versatile, something I can't say for many other stores. The success of this haul means Portmans will see more of my money at some point.
In short, I fully recommend this to anyone seeking adaptability, stylishness, and quality in their clothing while not minding the slightly-higher pricing. More budget-conscious consumers should still keep their eye out when Portmans do sales--you won't be disappointed.
Quality has gone downhill
I used to love Portmans however my recent purchases have been disappointing, due to the quality and inconsistent sizing.
I bought a skirt which was around $80 however the material is similar to something I could pull off a roll at a Spotlight store, definitely not worth what I paid. The zip also comes down a bit all the time.
For another skirt, I bought a size 6 based on the side guide and it was way too tight. So I got a size 8 - which was too baggy.
I won’t be purchasing anything else online from this store, however I will go in in order to get a better idea of sizing as I believe there is still quality in some of the products.

I ordered a leather jacket on sale on Tuesday and it arrived by Friday. I'm soooooo so happy and in love with my purchase (I bought the bailey leather biker jacket on sale for around $180 on sale - BARGAIN!!!). Will definitely be back to buy more things from their online store!!!!!
Very poor experience for people of colour: staff choose which colour to provide service to
Walked into their store in Habour town, (Perth) and was FULLY ignored by staff. Along comes in another person, and others and they got QUEEN treatment. I got acknowledged at the till!! STAFF AREN'T MEANT TO RACIALLY PROFILE CUSTOMERS BUT TO SERVE THEM. I made a complaint but i didnt even get an apology from the supposed Regional manager who was meant to contact me. You've got nothing on Starbucks, Portmans!

I’ve been a fan of Portmans for years.
Portmans’ prices are not cheap; in fact, sometimes it’s a little expensive but it’s worth it. The quality of fabric they use in their collection is good and can last for years, therefore, you can save money in the long run by not buying many clothes because you can use it over and over and fabric can withstand frequent washing and drying.
Also, their website is easy to use and I don’t have any problems with buying online. They get the orders right and the sizes are accurate so I never had to return...anything at all. Their staff are friendly and helpful, no matter which store you go. My only negative comment is that they have too many wrap dresses and blouses. When they release a collection, everything almost look exactly the same and people can’t tell the floral patterns apart. I will give them 5 stars when they start releasing a variety of designs and patterns, but overall, I’m always happy with anything I buy from them.

Mount Gravatt Garden City had a great range of office wear and even better customer service. The gentleman who served me was amaze balls. He knew his stuff and was able to suggest pants that were a better fit for my shape. Employer of the year! Price is a bit high but better quality than other woman’s clothing stores.
Customer Service Awful.
Portmans Charlestown one staff member was highly unfriendly and didn't get much advice on sales. So I left pretty disappointed and had to do my own research where I signed up to your emails and was offered 15% off for the month perhaps if she spoke to me and gave me that information I would be like no problem I will spend the money. That would of been helpful as it is nice to get a discount, then later on that week I received an email stating about 30% off full priced tops. This would of been useful information for me to come back to your store...and buy an item. It seems these days - I understand people have their problems but in your profession you are to know about your store and this could prevent a lot of infuriated customers - perhaps be a cheerful person and assist as you never know you could make a person's day. This review is for Charlestown Portman.
Shocking customer service!
Portmans Highpoint staff are unfriendly, unmotivated and can't be bothered helping out. There were few customers and three staff members behind the counter and they did not greet us when we came in and kept talking to each other. They didn't follow me to the changing room to ask if I needed any help. This isn't the first time and I will not be shopping there either. I happened to be in Geelong a week later, and the same thing I experienced. Management, you need to do something about this!
EDIT - I originally wrote a bad review as I was so unhappy with the lack of service received. I had to go back to the same store to return an item and was served by the same girl and the older lady that I was originally ignored by.
They were both great and so helpful I decided to remove my negative complaint.

Ordered a skirt online. After only wearing it a couple of times the eyelet feature of the design has fallen apart. Several emails later to the head office I have yet to receive a call from an area manager to try and solve the fault with the skirt or any offer of compensation due to manufacturing fault. Given up and will no longer purchase any further items from the store. Leave you hanging due to faulty manufacturing. Ladies watch what you buy and question whether the design features will last and whether they've been sewn properly.
Great customer service
I was given exceptional customer service today 11/11/2017 at highpoint. The staff greeted me into the store and helped find what I wanted. I purchased a dress and accessorised it with a belt. The staff were friendly, chatty and willing to serve you. It was a pleasure shopping at Portmans Highpoint.. Thank you
Worst customer service!!!
I visited Portmans in Halls Head WA last week and browsed around their store before picking up a couple items off the sale rack and asking the shop assistant if they had this in other sizes.. she stated ‘No sorry those items didn’t come in bigger sizes’. Shouting this across the store in front of other customers . I’m a size 14/16 so already conscious of my bigger frame and was made to feel embarrassed in front of other shoppers. I kept browsing and not once did this shop assistant come to my assistance and ask if I needed any help.. she was b...usy helping the size 10/12 customers as she obviously thought she will get more sales out of these customers as there is alot more variety for those sizes so therefore will spend more money. twice more I approached her and asked if this or that item came in other sizes/ colours and once again I was completely dismissed with short answers offering no assistance. I ended up deciding on a top and took it to the counter to pay . I tried to make small talk with her (have you had a busy day, etc...) She again gave a blunt answer and proceeded to talk to the lady next to me that was in line to pay for her items. This shop assistant (I’ve since found out according to my receipt that her name was Carolyne) was blatantly rude and was more interested in helping the shoppers that she knew would spend more money than myself. Portmans really needs to take a good hard look at the staff they employ as this customer service was the worst I have ever come across in a retail store. This woman either needs to be retrained or get a job where she has no customer contact. Appalling - will never step foot inside a Portmans again.

I went to the highpoint store today to return a dress that I purchased at the Melbourne central store a week prior. I decided to return the dress because the alteration cost to make the dress fit correctly was too much. As the girls examined the dress prior to me returning it a stain was found on the back. I had not known the stain was there at the time of purchase nor at the time of return. The stain was faint and easily missed. The dress still had the ticket in perfect condition and i had a receipt as I had not even tried the dress on since t...he day of purchase. The girls that served me accused me of wearing the dress and trying to return it. I was absolutely taken a back by the accusation made as I was unaware of the stain and said I had not worn it. They continued to tell me that the store would not sell the dress in the condition it was. I was absolutely baffled because I had bought the dress in that same condition. The girls were extremely disrespectful and out of line in saying that I had made that stain as I assure you I did not and would not have purchased the dress if I had seen it. I am absolutely disgusted in the was that I was treated and the lack of respect I was given. Furthermore I was denied an exchange or credit note as the girls said I was not entitled to one. I have never been one to write a negative review... however my experience today was one that was extremely disappointing.

Went into Helensvale Store Qld personally, purchased 2 items and made a 'Store to Door' prepaid order for two items that weren't yet available but were currently in an interstate warehouse. Items arrived within 3 days :) - (site does say allow 3-7 working days) packed carefully and beautifully presented and was exactly as described and pictured with a great fit. The two really lovely girls who work at the Helensvale Qld store were so very helpful and even though busy on that day, could not have done more for me, as well as multi-tasking for the other customers who were in all stages of shopping/deciding and trying-on. I'll definitely be shopping in Portmans again soon. Thanks Portmans, for caring, and doing your job so well.
Terrible customer and online service
Terrible online and customer service. I ordered an item online and a totally different item was delivered. I went to my local store so they could resolve the matter and they were extremely rude and even advised me not to buy online, and were not helpful at all.
June 22nd 2017 Update: Worst customer service
Following my incident yesterday in which I went into Karynnup branch as I had received a wrong item and basically advised to avoid buying online and that they did not have the particular item I had ordered, I went on the online website ...last night to see if I could find a solution for myself. I went on the returns policy from where I was directed to send an email to the online shop with my complaint. I was hoping to have received a response today, but up to now there is still no response to my email. I then resorts to calling the online shop this morning to present my case. The person I spoke to checked which shops near me had the item I had ordered. She informed me one of the shops that had the item was Karynnup, the same one I had gone the day before and told they were out of stock. I told the person on the other end of the phone that I had gone the day before and told that item was not in Karynnup. She then said she will call Karynnup and let me know if they have the item. That was around 0900hrs and up to now she still has not gotten back to me. Very appalled by this pathetic service starting with the packers for failing to pay attention to such crucial detail, and the customer care in store and online.
