$436 to use the hand plunger!!!!
Called them onsite via a third party company referral, the plumber came on site and told me it would cost $436 to unblock the toilet, in a rush I told them to go ahead, the plumber went to plunged the toilet twice with a hand plunger. Afterwards he said there was more blockage and need to smash toilet. quoted me another 1300 on top of that. I decided not to go ahead with that quote as it was a lot of money for a blocked toilet. Then they sent me an invoice quoting 436 for a use of a hand plunger!!! Absolutely unspeakable and unreasonable for a job that isn't even fixed..
Stay away from these guys ASAP
*warning* an absolute rort and dodgy business
An absolute disgrace. If you want to lose money and time, then proceed at own risk. The most biggest scam I have ever known. They came out said it would cost $1435. We asked how long, which they replied about 2 to 3hr job. That is $500 an hr? It literally was a small leak outside under a deck, which was on the edge. In my mind, a 1-2hr job for a handyman. Got someone else for $300 to complete it in under 2hrs, they were on time and did it without issue. Pronto plumbing is pronto money loss. I beleive their business model is to ch...
As everyone else has stated, these guys prices are a joke. Ive spoken to 2 other plumbers since and both have quoted me $400 less for the same job. Mind you I hadnt told the other plumbers what pronto quoted me before they did, only afterwards.
I wish i had come here first to read reviews before wasting $49 on a callout fee, probably the only way these clowns make any money.
Avoid at all cost.
Rip of older people
Quoted a price, pressured an elderly person in a unit to replace the hot water unit using a unit twice the size that was needed. Couldn't give a itemized quote.
Ripped Off! Don't waste money getting a quote from Pronto Plumbing
I got the speel from Pronto Plumbing that they needed to send out a qualified plumber to the site to do a quote on the job. ($49) would be the call out fee but would be deducted from the price of the job. Problem was the price of their quote for work - dig up around water meter to find capped water feed running to old tap/ connect onto copper feed/ bring up riser and supply and install new garden tap/ install timber stake and clip pipe work to stake / replace faulty laundry spout was $1358. This work later only cost me $225 in TOTAL with a grea...t plumber - Remedy Plumbing. Pronto finally sent me a written quote in the form of an email but it didn’t itemise anything or say if it included the cost of materials or GST. They refused to refund me the call out fee when I rang and disputed the overpriced quote. The two young guys who came out to the site told me it would cost $400 to fix my laundry spout and this job just required a $30 spout replacement that literally took 2 minutes to screw on! DO NOT expect a free quote because it will cost you $49 for the privilege of telling them to leave. OVER PRICED scammers! It’s discussing. I would rate them zero for all aspects if it was an option.
Called to assess a gas leak, and the tradesmen rocked up with an EFTPOS machine in his tool belt (this is not a joke). If that isn't a sign of a dodgy company I don't know what is.
After a 2nd a 3rd inspection, the works this company were planning to complete was COMPLETELY wrong, and the issue was actually much bigger even after they did a so called gas leak detection & didn't pick up on a number of other issues. Major red flags, a mickey mouse company who will probably change their name in 2 months. If you look up their ABN they have a number of registered names.
DO NOT USE this company!!!! Terrible service! Terrible communication! Will rip you off!!
TERRIBLE COMPANY! Called to fix a small leak in our shower. Mulitple attempts to repair, $4,000 given to the company. 1 month later the leak is 10x worse, affecting our floorboards! Nervous phone calls and email, the manager has still not contacted me and the leak has not been fixed!!!! I can’t use my shower!!!
AVOID AT ALL COST!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
As far as your speed of response explanation to your ridiculously overpriced service please
note that the first call out left us waiting for more than 4 hours, the second call out to install
product kept us waiting for 3 hours plus, not at any point did anyone from your company call to
update us or offer any explanation, we had to contact you.
Your remarks alluding to that fact that we have no idea how to run a business is very much wrong! We have owned a business for 26 years and fully understand what is involved in continuing and also to
provide customer satisfaction to ensure return customers, something I doubt you would experience.
WARNING!!! - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
Pronto Plumbing was called in by my tenants to assess a leak under the sink which I believe to be the dishwasher inlet or outlet.
Not only was the work provided substandard and not resolved but they charged pensioners $721.82 + GST to replace a sink connector which is a $7 dollar part at Bunnings and should have take less than 15min to replace.
There is still water leaking in the area and we need to get a decent plumbing service in now.
I have contacted this company 3 times via the phone to get a refund and they have sent me 2 incorrect email...address to document our concerns I have attached photos to show what you will get if you use this company and what you pay nearly $800 for. Photo of the area the day after, as you can see the issue is still present and there is water leaking most likely from the dishwasher which was not thoroughly checked and not fixed. It seems to me that my tenants have been taken advantage of as pensioners who trusted the advice of this this plumbing and felt obliged to proceed and pay for work that they believed to be far more substantial.
Do not use this company!!!!! They have no idea what they are doing and they take your money. We called them for a plumbing emergency which was not fixed on the day. They quoted a job for around $4600.00 and forced us into making a deposit of around half of the quoted amount. When the real plumber came to check (not from this company) the actual job was not as hefty as Pronto plumbing made out to be (meaning it was the wrong job) and gave a quote of $800.00. After trying to request a refund of the deposit they argued that it was only a certain amount of the total job and not of the deposit. They stole half of the deposited amount of my hard earned money. Really a bad experience and poor customer service.
New hot water unit & leak
Excellent & fast service regarding our external leak. Then we found out we had to replace our gas hot water unit. Gave me a few options. I would highly recommend them.
Major Rip Off Averted
On 31 December 2020 a chap from Pronto Plumbing attended an emergency call out to fix a slow pipe leak. My water was turned off. I had dug and exposed the location of the leak. See pic attached. The nut had deteriorated. This guy quoted me $1,300. Disbelieving I asked how much time was involved - 1 hour I was informed. I paid the call out fee of $49 and told the chap to leave. I had the work completed later that day for less than $200.
It pays to do your research & shop around as we nearly got seriously ripped off by these guys.
It appears that there negative reviews are well deserved and they simply haven’t learned their lesson. My 86 year old fathers hot water service had issues, their rep was not remotely interested in diagnosing or fixing the issue instead he did the hard sell on us on a $3,038 unit. We told him repeatedly that no decision was to made on the spot so he then switched to a $2,450 hard sell. At this point we caught onto the fact the he dodgy and only interested in a quick sale. It took us 6 goes at getting the message across to him that NO decision wa...s to be made within the 5 minute deadline he was giving us. In fact we were happy to just pay him the $49 bucks call out fee just to get him out the door. I’ve never been so disgusted or appalled to think that this twonk was happy enough to pressure an 86 year old man out of $3,038 for a unit that costs approximately $1,100 - $1,200 retail plus install fees. We had another plumber tell us that to replace like for like would cost approximately $2,000. Please tell me what the other $1,038 is for & how it could be justified. Buyer beware!!
Dirty Rip Off!
Very, Very expensive. Did not clean up the mess when finished which would have involved a simple hose down. Cleaned the pipes just fine. Sent in a camera. and charged way way way over the standard cost for such a job. But because we were in some sort of emergency, we were exploited. $800 for clear'n'clean'camera instead of $400-$500. Plus their call out fee! Problem was explained to us on the job, but no written report when I asked for more details to further explain the job and problems with my sewage. No photos provided. No videos. No nothing...! My advice? (which I should've taken at the time) is to be more patient when the proverbial hits the fan! Ring around and be calm and get some advice. Take some time. Do Not call the Emergency Plumbers advertising on Google! I did. (I actually hung up knowing better but they called me back and I got sucked in) I called others since that day and got great help and sensible support. Plenty of rip-off merchants out there. Be calm. Take a minute to breathe. And don't call Pronto/Emergency Plumbing! And do not accept a quote from them. Please! Beware!
Water heater replacement x 2
Great team. Efficient. Reliable. Quality of workmanship. Friendly and Respectful. Very happy with the overall service, thorough explanations and of course the end result which should make life more comfortable
Questions & Answers
Hi, I would like to know if a compliance certificate was issued for the jobs performed. I note that in the VBA website it is stated that jobs of value in excess of $750 makes it mandatory for a compliance certificate to be issued by the license plumber. I did not know this before when I had the job done by now that I know I intend to ask for one and hence wondering if you guys were giving a compliance certificate or was that a struggle to get. Thanks.
I’m not sure what a compliance certificate is im sure if you ask them for one they’ll give it to you
The invoice they gave was quite detailed
Good luck getting anything from these guys
Hello, your compliance certificate was sent yesterday morning via email. Please let us know if you have not received it as yet. Thank you.
I wonder why pronto aren’t responding to my feedback......
Six months ago I paid over $6,000 for new Hot Water Service, after many difficulties with the way it didn't work properly, it was finally fixed. Now, six months later, the new copper pipe is turning blue around the two joins. Your plumber came a week later. I asked Hayden why and he stated 'I don't know, why does the world turn', this answer is not satisfactory, please give me a reason why these new cooper pipes are turning blue..It is simply not right. I am now in contact with VCCC Again I ask Why are my new copper pipes turning green.
