Found this due to reviews. Best in Oz – [[[IMPORTANT UPDATE 2023, distributor no longer imports 'PURINA TIDY CATS form USA :-(((. I checked. we now use a different brand called "Trouble & Trix Lightweight Cat Litter with Baking Soda" which is actually lighter and very good. and probably cheaper... Id give it 5 stars too, only drawback its a back, not a porable container with lid ]]] … Read more · 1
The container makes it much easier, hassle free to pour, and safer to store. Best rated and best clumping stuff in Australia . I haven't done a scientific comparison between the 24/7 one and the other but it's so good I trust the packet. Very good clumping. Fast. Best odour control. Perfume a lot less annoying than other brands. And you can extend the life of it by adding the deodorising power. Only drawback is price. [update 2023: fragile supply chains - or high demand due to this review - means constantly sold out. I order online well in advance now as its almost never in stock at Big W, Woolworths etc. It comes from USA. ]
I LOVE THIS LITTER! Just wish it was less expensive :( – I saw the reviews on this a while ago and will buy it whenever I can afford it. I have 2 cats, ragdolls.. so relatively big breeds, who need relatively big litter boxes, to fill their litter boxes it costs me 3 x 6kg cartons to just fill my cat's litter up for a week or 2. that's $72 to fill my cat's litter boxes!! :( It devastates me as I love… Read more · 1
this litter so much. I wish you guys could release a bigger value size perhaps or have it on sale more often so I can stock up. This litter is small enough it doesn't get tracked everywhere, the odor control is AMAZING and the cats love it. PLEASE SPONSOR ME PURINA.
Sad that it’s always out of stock – Very sad that this is never in stock at Woolworths any more. Both our cats liked this litter and I also liked it as I can get it delivered with my regular groceries, it clumps well, locks odours and the bottle packaging was easy to handle for refills etc. It’s been such a long time since we were able to buy this, I don’t have a receipt to “verify” this review. Love the product, shop around for good prices – Domain Pet shop sell their own version of this which is $20 for 12kg which is okay but dusty and sticks to the bottom of the litter tray. Purina's one very much does clump tightly and doesn't stick to the litter tray. It works fast to stop odours. Its generally $20 for 6kg whether from Coles, Woolies or Big W. However their scent free version is… Read more · 1
$9 at the Reject Shop for 6kg!
I like this litter and will continue using it but my cats are taking a long while to get used to it. They use it and don't have accidents but its disconcerts them how much it gets in between their paws and tracks around the place.
The tiny size of the pieces is necessary but unfortunate for my cats. I'll stick with it though because it suits my version of kitty litter tray perfectly!
Positive reviews
Lasts a long time and controls smells – I've tried many brands of cat litter thinking they were all the same and wondered why Tidy Cats is more expensive. I found out that this brand pours well, doesn't produce much dust and clumps well, but not overly much to the point it gets stuck to the bottom of the tray and has to be thrown out (which other brands do). This means that a standard… Read more · 1
6.35kg container will last up to 2 months when you only scoop out the waste. It does not have a strong fragrance which is good for my cat.
I love it but it’s quite expensive for a multi cat household! – It is the most effective litter on the market. I have tried at least 20 different types of litter in the last year and I always come back to this one! Unfortunately I can only afford it when it’s either $16 on sale at Woolworths or the box is on sale at big w. With 4 cats and 2 being pregnant I go through a ridiculous amount. Just wish it was more affordable. Show details · 1
Excellent clumping litter – I used to use a different brand which went downhill. I’m so glad I found the Purina in my local supermarket as an alternative. It clumps really well making the litter box easy to clean. No odour either. Show details · 1
Negative reviews
not good anymore – Before covid this kitty litter was the best, now it has come back into stock I have bought a few times and it is not the same, doesn't clump well anymore and the odour is there where is wasn't before, not happy there has obviously been a formula change and price increase. $20 for cat litter and my apartment reeks of urine – Do not waste your time or money with this crap. We used to use it and it was great but they stopped stocking the unscented one at my grocery store and quite frankly $20 for some clay is a rort. We use a $3 Woolworths brand one and does the same job for a fraction of the price. Unfortunately that cheap one was out of stock. So we had to buy this… Read more
garbage.
I’ve just come home, balcony door left wide open, there should be no accumulation of smell. But the stench hit me the moment I walked in and it will not go away, the kitty litter is still relatively clean, we only put it in before we left 8 hours ago. This stench has permeated through out the apartment and even with all the windows open too I can still smell this wretched kitty litter, it smells like urine even though it’s still mostly clean, scooping it out has not helped at all. I’m extremely annoyed that I have to deal with this smell for the evening, it’s absolutely revolting but we can’t chuck it out. I will never buy this ever again, I don’t know what on earth they’ve done to it, I’ve had the 24/7 performance before, it was while ago but I know it wasn’t like this. I absolutely will be taking what's left back for a refund because this is totally unacceptable.

Horrible – I exchange crystals with this and it was the worst mistake ever. This sand made the floor a mess, it’s not less resistant or clean than crystal and does not last! As soon as run out I’ll go soon back to my crystals which smell better and are cleaner! Show details

Works well but stinks – Tried this as the unscented has been discontinued (in Aus) as advised by Purina. The fragrance over powers the cat litter smell but is just as offensive to our household. Not recommended will have to find another brand now. Show details

Purina Tidy Cats kitty litter – Had a nice fragrance, however, I have a burmese and devon rex and this kitty litter left such a mess in my bathroom, as it spread everyone and when you stepped on it, it crushed.

Love it – My mum decided to change to this litter and it works so well. No longer an issue with sharing the bathroom with the cat and it’s litter tray. Easy to clean. Show reply

Best cat litter ever!!!! – I love this cat litter. The clumping feature is amazing. Easy clean up. Litter lasts for ages. Plus my cat no longer pees on bed as she loves the litter. Show details · 1
Best I’ve used – Always smells clean and fresh, I don’t need to keep buying cat litter because it goes far and lasts longer. I’ve read reviews and complaints of cats walking litter through the house but this doesn’t happen with my cat at all. My cat has irritable bowel syndrome and is very very very smelly. Since I’ve used this product, I have barely noticed any… Read more
smells at all. I’ve used heaps of cat litters and this is by far the best. Seems expensive but lasts so long with top-ups that the value for money is actually great.
Best litter – I’ve pretty much tried every cat litter and this is by far the best in terms of odour control and not spreading around the home. I just wish it came in a more environmentally friendly package and didn’t take up as much room in the bin. It is expensive at $20 and usually lasts 2 weeks. Show details
Fantastic – This is the best litter l have ever used! I have a shocking gag reflux but not with this litter! It is easy to clean, goes a long way for the size and best of all does not smell! I stock up when it is on special at $16 at Woolies or Coles which is often! Show details
Good litter, easy cleanup – My favourite litter at the moment, lasts me 4 weeks. Easy to filter out the clumps. Only bad things are is does get stuck on my feet when I walk around the house, constantly have to sweep it up, and it can stick to my cats bum making her drag her bum on the floor to get it off. Show details
love it! – Absolutely love it - it clumps so well and so easy to remove, but the packaging is such a waste and expensive - come on Purina, you can do better for the environment. Show details
Fantastic litter but price :( – I love this litter & my cats love this litter. It clumps really well, the odour control is better than anything else available, and it lasts for ages. It's quite simply one of the best on the market, but it's price which is not just a little more expensive than it's competitors but outrageously so, negates all of that considerably. It's worth… Read more
noting that this litter is available in the USA where there is actually a range of sizes available to choose from which means less packaging and therefore less plastic waste, rather than the tiny 6.35kg jug which is all we can buy here in Australia. Incidentally that same 6.35kg jug which we pay approx $20 for costs Americans less than $10 USD ($13 AUD). But even better, if they buy the bulk sizes they get it even cheaper:
9kg Jug = $7.88 USD/$10.65 AUD
12.3kg pail = $15.86/$21.40 (double the product volume for similar to what we pay for 6.35kg)
15.9kg pail = $12.98/$17.52
With that kind of price gouging it seems like this is just another case of a wealthy multinational ripping off the little guys again and I'm sick of it. So as much as I love this product I won't be buying it or anything else by Purina.
Finally a litter that clumps – Finally a litter that will actually clumps!!! Negates some of the smell too. Expensive but worth it. Less mess when they get out of the litter box too.
only proudct ever seen that truly eliminiates odour – My indoor cat produces nuclear weapon grade pungent poops. I have used every litter products in the market. This is the only product that works. Shame the size is so small. LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

OMG, this product is fantastic – OMG, this has changed everything for me. My cats are inside cats and often when I get home with my previous product there would be crystals everywhere and the house stunk. This product I cannot smell a thing and there is very minimal if any, tracking around the house. I looked for it at my local Woolworths and they don't stock it, but i will search in other shops. I am now a convert and will continue to use this product.
cats cue to use – I have seven cats.I replaced two kitty litter boxes with "TIDY CATS"and kept three with their normal litter. At first I thought the fragrance would be to strong for them,oh how wrong I was.All their movements were in the Tidy Cats trays and only one in their usual.Tidy cats clumps well, there is less wastage and the smell is only the original… Read more
fragrance and believe me when my cats do bowel movements you know, but with tidy cats it is not as strong, thankfully. On the downside, yes it is expensive and you tend to have to let the clumps"dry" before extracting, other wise it is like scooping wet cement.Really I would have to try it for a longer period of time to see if it would be cost efficient for me with seven cats.It possibly may turn out cheaper with the less wastage.
Excellent litter with a few drawbacks – First of all, this is easily the best litter we have ever used. We have two cats in an apartment and find this product completely masks any odour with very little tracking. Unfortunately it’s expensive at $20 per unit and our local supermarket only seems to stock it intermittently. Other than that, it’s an excellent product. I would dearly love to… Read more · 2
see it packaged in a more sustainable manner. The large plastic jug is handy for dispensing the litter but I would prefer to purchase refills at a lower price point, with biodegradable packaging.
Ps - we love the fragrance! It’s not too strong at all!
Absolutely awesome – Absolutely amazing best product I've ever used.... does exactly what it's meant to do clumps which makes it easy to get rid of waste.. and covers majority of the waste smell!!!! Love it!!! Would definitely recommend Show reply
wow love this cat litter – love it,love the perfume and the cats seem to like it too.the clumps are easy to get out.a little on the pricey side, but worth it.buy when its on sale. Show reply
The litters perfume is way too powerful and may be better with NO perfume – I have tried the Purina Tidy cats 24/7 clumping litter, but now my cat won't even use the litter tray, he just goes to the toilet away from the tray, we think it's because he too is almost overcome by the too powerful a smell. We can't invite anyone home now as this products smell permeates the whole house. Even the rubbish bin, when we lift the lid to discard another dropping bag, a person almost 'gags' on the strong litter perfume.

It works!!! No more stinky litter! 100% worth the price – Background: We recently adopted a rescue cat - she was apparently an indoor cat previously. All my other cats have been indoor/outdoor cats and have gone outside to do their business and had a litter tray as a back-up for rainy days and at night. I was a kid with the other cats, so not responsible for the litter, so this was a bit of a nasal… Read more · 2
assault for me with our new "baby" using the litter tray multiple times a day.
I read the reviews here and figured that based on the amount of stars vs how many reviews there were that it was a fair punt to take. Managed to get it on sale at Coles for $16. We chose to mix it in with our cheapy Aldi clumping litter and also bought the Tidy Cats Litter Tray Deodoriser. The 3 combined means the litter smells like a gentle scent of laundry powder and that the cost isn't too bad.
The finer texture and scent hasn't put the cat off. It means we don't have to empty the entire tray weekly (we had been doing weekly change and disinfect when using just the Aldi one as it stank so bad). We haven't noticed any tracking that others have mentioned (maybe due to mixing the litters).
I even asked my very fussy mum to smell the main bathroom (where the litter tray is currently residing) and she said it smelt fine, no smells. Definitely worth a try - it worked for us :)
I vote YES – Great product Keeps the smells confined to the tray The product size keeps waste to a minimum BUT ........ THE PRICE !!!!!!!! 2 cats who poop and pee like little toddlers, it gets a little costly :( Show reply
Purr-fect litter! – Purchased this litter for the first time recently and am very impressed. Clumps extremely well, odour free and no tracking. A little expensive so would be great to see it out on special more often!! Show reply
Best litter we have ever used – This litter is expensive but well worth it. No smell and a container lasts for ages. No tracking and both of my cats are happy to use it. Show reply
Concern with litter – I have been using Tidy Cat for little over 8 months now. I do like the product but I am noticing dust on things that I never had before and it is coming from the Tidy Cat. I still like the litter (for now) but, if you are looking for improvement, look into how to keep down the DUST please. I am sure I am not the only one having this problem. Thanks Ron Show reply
Not a fan – Recieved a sample from Purina to try and whilst it works I wasnt a fan of the texture of the litter. I found it way too fine and my cat spread it so much further outside of the litter box which is highly annoying and makes clean ups harder. In terms of functionality the kitty litter works well when it stays in the box and does eliminate odours… Read more
