Difficult website and app
Tried to apply for this product online and through the app, and I just kept being sent around in circles. I’ve given up. But after having read the rest of the reviews, I’m glad I did.

Poor customer care and service
Got card ok ,loaded money on no or went on line to find out how to customise pin . Told go to a redi teller . Went tried , teller says service not available. Rang the contact centre and the agent told me “ yes that feature has not been available for 3 months or so and we have logged it with our It Dept but they do not think it urgent. “That was all she did ! I suggested they needed to change the advice that you could change the pin that was on the website ! Her answer “ our It Dept would have to do that !!!
Very easy to use, never had a problem
I was traveling to the USA San Diego and Las Vegas, for 10 days and being a Frequent Flyer member was very interested in the Qantas Travel Money Card. After reading all the negative reviews I was very nervous about loading the card and this being my major source of funs while away.
After making the first transaction on the day I landed and then regular purchases there after.
Downloading the app to my phone also made it very easy to check my balance on the go.
I can only say I am very happy with this card and would recommend it for any Qantas Frequent Flyer member

Worst product ever
First of all it took me month to be able to activate the card. I couldn’t do it on the company, went to the post office twice.
A month before I went overseas I have been able to activate my card then load $2000 .
Once overseas I couldn’t pay with it and. Realised it was expired.
I phoned to get a new one sent to the country I was spending time.
One person said no problem we will sent it to your address overseas. A week later still no card, so I phoned again and they told me no card was send and it will takes at least 3 weeks to get the card . S...
Qantas Money Card-Ripping Australians in exchange rates
I traveled to China in June and used the Qantas Money Card for the first time because there was a promotion for no international transaction fees. The card worked well in China. After my first withdrawal of RMB 1,000, I wanted to check the exchange rate but the Qantas App will not show this. When I came back, I printed the statement and was astonished to see the rate of 4.36 RMB whereas other credit cards I used gave me 4.75 RMB. They simply ripped me and other Australians in exchange rates. I sent them an email asking why their rates do not compare with the market rates but no reply. I urge all Australians not to use this Qantas Money card anymore.
Hopeless. If I could give 0 starts I would. Don't get one.
Absolutely hopeless. Problems loading. Points didn't transfer. Card frequently did not work when trying to book online. Difficult to contact call centre. When I did they told me to ensure I use an Australian address. This led to online transfers going through on some occasions but not always. Definitely don't get one.
Do not get this useless cash card for your travel money!! I've had nothing but trouble with using euro in various countries. Errors and refusals - a waste of time and embarrassing! I will NEVER use again and I strongly advise about relying on this card!
Terrible customer service
Had used Qantas Cash Card on our last trip overseas and found it great. Decided to use it again on our trip to Java. Used the card a few times to withdraw cash and purchase products but then tried to withdraw money on Saturday afternoon and would not work. Found that I had an email from Qantas saying there was suspicious activity on card. Not having a SIM card in Indonesia wrote an email to the Contact Us at Frequent Flyer site explaining our situation. Did not hear anything back by next morning. Checked my account next morning through Qantas M...oney App on iPad and account was still inactive. Wrote to Qantas on Contact Us which is on the app but still did not receive a reply. Wrote a third message to Qantas Frequent Flyer giving all details and asking that they email me but no reply. Tried ringing on my wife’s phone who did have an Indonesian SIM card but could not get through. Spoke with owner of Airbnb who we were staying with who informed me that we had no credit for international calls and sent his son up the road to get credit for us. Finally got on to qantas and spoke with representative. Answered all security questions and explained our situation but before we could finish the phone ran out of credit. Did not feel like asking son to go up the road again as we were leaving and expected would get a follow up email. After two days, three emails and a phone call still have not had an email from Qantas in response to our problem. Lucky we had a Visa card and extra cash, but will still have to pay extra cost on exchange rate. Very disappointing customer service
Awful and even worse customer service
I transferred $5000 onto the card a week before travelling. I couldn’t activate the card as the number on the card was incorrect. The card was useless as I couldn’t get a new one before travelling. I asked for a refund and I was given $4400. So for giving them my money for a week I was charged $600 for the pleasure
Poor customer care! Website has serious problems!
I am not sure what has happened to qantas cash card! We used it beginning of last year overseas and had no problems! but now...worst service ever!! Cant activate a new card - keeps saying not an Australian resident or under 16 years of age-which is not the case! numerous calls ( put on hold for over an hour) only to receive an email saying problem had been fixed - but it hasn't. Still no response. The website keeps crashing - saying it has technical issues!
Will definitely not take the risk of using overseas now given such bad customer service. Now to transfer my money out....
What customer care
Used card on several recent trips with no problems but this .A disaster. Arrived in Europe and on day one card did not work Told at ATM card not activated Several calls to customer care said no problems but still no result. Then card must be faulty They might be able to transfer money to a cash exchange but nothing came of that.I was able to transfer cash to a back up card and requested a refund of my money on their card that did not work.Emailed a form to complete in handwriting and returned to them. This is not easy on the move so supplied in...fo on return email. No not good enough ,must be handwritten form. Finally got home to Sydney ,downloaded form and returned form and after 5 weeks got my money back OR some of it. To add insult to injury my initial deposit was con verted to Euro but when converted back at month later rates I lost a thousand which probably included MasterCard fees and loss of FF points NEVER again
Disgusting product and service
App (and website) keeps crashing. Gives useless excuses and keeps you from using your own money. Tried several times to rectify, however Completely ignorant and careless support staff. Unable to access money.
AVOID USING IF YOU’RE TRAVELLING OVERSEAS
Left me stranded
I have always used this card when travelling and never had a problem until my recent trip to Tokyo. On my last day I had booked a bus ticket to get me to the airport that I had to pay in cash but didn't have enough loaded on my card to make a withdrawal from the ATM so proceeded to do an instant load. I had already made two instant loads earlier that day but on this 3rd attempt it would not let me load any money. I had two hours before the bus came so called customer service. This took about 10mins to get through and then another 20 mins whi...lst the operator kept going back and forth leaving me on hold each time to find the problem. He concluded that it was because "apparently" you can only do one instant load per 24 hour period. But I had already made two that day so how is that possible? He could not explain that but insisted that the instant load is only for emergency use. Im pretty sure he was making this up as he went along. I have never read anywhere in the terms and conditions that there is to be only one instant load in a 24 hour period and to this day I still can't find this stated anywhere. I told him that this won't do as this will leave me stranded. His response - "I'm sorry, is there anything else I can help you with?" Not Good Enough!!! Customer Care it certainly isn't, he couldn't have given a damn about my predicament and after two written complaints I still haven't received a response.
Wish I could give them a zero
Despite using the correct details I was locked out of my cash card account.interesting to read below how many other people having the same trouble.
Qantas/MasterCard get your act together. Useless!!!
Qantas Travel money team made an incorrect transfer/reversal from my travel money card back to my bank account. Over 1 week without my money and repeated chasing and follow up on my part and no one can tell me when I will get my funds back. Worst process and service ever, they don’t give a rats about their customers needs. This was their error and nothing has been done to resolve swiftly at their end. Avoid using at all costs!!
This product is so bad its almost a scam
Do not rely on this card unless you have back up funds you can access when it all goes wrong. I couldn't access the money I loaded before leaving Australia from an ATM in Tokyo (as it wouldn't accept the pin) so was locked from using the card as I had tried to enter the pin several times. The pin was correct btw! I contacted the call centre when I returned to Australia because I was unable to transfer the un touched funds back to my account and was told it was likely preventing me from the transfer because a replacement card had been sent to ...me (it would take 2 weeks to arrive) and the 3 digit security code on the back of the card would have now changed. I have been slugged $70 for my troubles (as they take their fee the moment you load the money) and I haven't touched a cent of the funds loaded. I still can't access MY money - the new card has arrived and the online system won't accept the new security code. I am floored that Qantas continues to damage its brand by being in partnership with this program.
I wish i read these reviews before loading UK pounds onto my card. They have a promotion on if you load more than $5000 dollars onto your card you get two Qantaz club passes. I registered and loaded the money and never heard a thing about it. I rang them and i m told you dont get them till 6-8 weeks time. That is good as i am travelling tonight . I just hope i do not have issues like what i read hear . Kicking myself i did not read the reviews before hand and so many of them.
PIN Wouldn’t Work Overseas & Customer Service Non-Existent
Travelled to Singapore in May, a few weeks after Qantas Cash changed to Qantas Money. Had previously used my card in Hong Kong three years ago with no problems.
PIN number wouldn’t work - kept being given “Incorrect PIN” message. The first time I assumed I’d entered it incorrectly, and tried again watching the keypad this time, no go.
Retrieved my PIN via the app - which was an issue in itself, had to enter a security code sent to my mobile number to login, but my phone wasn’t picking up any local providers, so no text messages getting throu...
Beware of bank fees
I loaded THB and EUR for a trip in May 10/19 fist experience was in Thailand where the ATM withdrew the THB transaction from my EUR. Then I noticed I was charged AUD for that and every subsequent withdrawl. That's around $10 AUD very pricey if you don't take out large amounts. In Italy where I used my EUR it was hard finding and ATM that would accept he card but they charged 3.5 EUR that's around $6.80 AUD per transaction. Qantas have promoted no bank transaction fees on withdrawls, better read the fine print its their own $1.95 AUD transaction...fee. They do however state that some banks 'MAY' charge a fee when withdrawing money overseas, yes that's very true and costly. Better to take cash you get a better rate and no fees. Lots of not so obvious terms and conditions backing this product up. Won't use it again it cost me hundreds of dollars in fees and headaches with ATM's just for the benefit of using it. By the way when i called Qantas about the THB,EUR,AUD issues they told me to contact the bank in Thailand.
No CSV files download! What a rubbish!
Help and support says we can download our transactions with CSV files but when we called a support team, that function is no longer available. All we get is stupid PDF file and we can't copy and paste those figures to our excel spreadsheet.
Questions & Answers
I am trying to convert my Aus $ to NZ $ but I have been unable to log in for a couple of days now, a message appears on the log in screen saying QantasMoney is unavailable at present. HELP I am in NZ and can't access my money.
Does Qantas cash card have any fees
Technically it doesn't, however they give you poor exchange rates which make it much more expensive then using your bank credit card. It is the same as buying money at the airport, usually 20% worse than at a suburban office of the same company.
This is the only contact form I have found. I am a lifetime member of Qantas Club and have been trying to log in to my apparently dormant cash card account. Changed pin when requested at least twice. Still cannot log in. QC No: 0042515
