Stick to flying, Qantas!

published

Have had the credit card for 3 months. They have in that time enabled apple pay. As with all of the reviews in this thread, I can confirm that customer service is rubbish. As one person reported, their credit application was rejected. That happened to my partner, who has never had any credit issues whatsoever. Their credit processing is definitely flawed. The only reason I chose Qantas was for the points, but I don't think I'll be staying with them for too long. Their systems are also poor. The Qantas Money app does not provide you with any notifications when you have used the credit card. This is a handy security feature to confirm in real time when a transaction takes place which banks have but Qantas doesn't.

No Phone Payment Options

published

No Samsung Pay. No Google Pay.

This is terrible. I wish I had read the reviews here first and not made the assumption that, what with it being 2021, at least one of these would be an option.

No clear reasoning for this lack of functionality. Coles Mastercard, also underwritten by Citibank, happily plays with Samsung Pay.

Will be collecting my sign on bonus and ditching this one ASAP.

Disgusting service, Operators LIE!

published

Organised replacement cards as they were going to cancel them as we had made no transactions for 2 years. Called them, they said they would send replacement cards and that the account would not be cancelled until we received the replacement cards and made a small transaction. We received the cards 2 weeks later, make a transaction - and they cancelled the account anyway!!!
On calling them again, they said the credit cards were cancelled/closed and that they could do nothing.
I spent HOURS on the phone at the beginning sorting this out so they wouldnt cancel, yet after following the instruction given by the operator, they cancelled the cards anyway!!!!!! !!!!!
Terrible, would not ever deal with them again!

No Apple Pay? Who has a wallet these days!

Card is rendered useless without Apple Pay. I don’t carry a wallet these days so cannot use this to make purchases (just paying bills). Would not recommend this card to anyone!

Useless Credit Card

Payments over $200 frequently denied. Money app was terrible! Have to enter your password to view statements in app?! Tried to add a second card user but couldn't activate the card because of convoluted password authentication.

Appalling customer service

published

Access to my account via my iPhone app and the web has been unavailable for almost 2 weeks due to a ‘technical problem’. I have contacted the customer service centre a number of times and have experienced 3rd class level of service. The phone line is distorted and full of static and to make matters worse the customer service people cannot speak English clearly. Outsourcing customer service to an overseas call centre is just not acceptable and I would not recommend this card to anyone, let alone a friend.

Worst experience ever. Secondary card holders can’t view all payments. monthly statements very confusing. Customer care based Overseas, was told no one available to speak with in Australia. When card was cancelled they took 6 months to refund money which was refunded to the card. Forced to launch an investigation as they lost the money which was refunded

Bad credit check system and customer services. Rejected my application with no specific reasons. My income and expenses is far enough to apply the platinum card with $6000 limit. I had a few $15000 credit card before and always paid full on time. Nobody replied my dispute email as well.

You'll think you've died and gone to Customer Service Hell

published

The only reason to apply for this card is to score the sign on points. My strong advice is that you quickly pay it off and close it down. All customer service is done in a very cheap foreign call centre where the command of the English and knowledge of the product is really really really crap. You'll find yourself wanting to smash your phone against the wall in frustration. Anyone with a heart condition or a sliver of self-respect should stay away.
How the Qantas board is comfortable is associating the Qantas brand with this appalling financial product beggars belief.

Does Qantas send any confirmation (written document) indicating that the travel insurance have been activated after an over $500 air or cruise ticket purchase? We bought tickets to Bali but we are not sure if the travel insurance is indeed active.
