I called 6 times, being cut off each time by Asians who cannot communicate properly in English!! I had to repeat over + over my problem to which they asked me to repeat multiple times
Just too difficult
This card is just a pain in the neck, not to use day to day, but to access online etc. Way to many unnecessary steps to login view statements etc. the constant link to frequent flyer ac in also unnecessary
Terrible Customer Service
Almost impossible to contact.
Dont send reminders of payments dur until AFTER !
Cynical organisation hell bent on screwing you out of money. Selling your data to others to cold call and sell you products and more credit you dont want.
Stick to flying, Qantas!
Have had the credit card for 3 months. They have in that time enabled apple pay. As with all of the reviews in this thread, I can confirm that customer service is rubbish. As one person reported, their credit application was rejected. That happened to my partner, who has never had any credit issues whatsoever. Their credit processing is definitely flawed. The only reason I chose Qantas was for the points, but I don't think I'll be staying with them for too long. Their systems are also poor. The Qantas Money app does not provide you with any notifications when you have used the credit card. This is a handy security feature to confirm in real time when a transaction takes place which banks have but Qantas doesn't.
No Phone Payment Options
No Samsung Pay. No Google Pay.
This is terrible. I wish I had read the reviews here first and not made the assumption that, what with it being 2021, at least one of these would be an option.
No clear reasoning for this lack of functionality. Coles Mastercard, also underwritten by Citibank, happily plays with Samsung Pay.
Will be collecting my sign on bonus and ditching this one ASAP.
Disgusting service, Operators LIE!
Organised replacement cards as they were going to cancel them as we had made no transactions for 2 years. Called them, they said they would send replacement cards and that the account would not be cancelled until we received the replacement cards and made a small transaction. We received the cards 2 weeks later, make a transaction - and they cancelled the account anyway!!!
On calling them again, they said the credit cards were cancelled/closed and that they could do nothing.
I spent HOURS on the phone at the beginning sorting this out so they wouldnt cancel, yet after following the instruction given by the operator, they cancelled the cards anyway!!!!!! !!!!!
Terrible, would not ever deal with them again!
No Apple Pay? Who has a wallet these days!
Card is rendered useless without Apple Pay. I don’t carry a wallet these days so cannot use this to make purchases (just paying bills). Would not recommend this card to anyone!
Useless Credit Card
Payments over $200 frequently denied. Money app was terrible! Have to enter your password to view statements in app?! Tried to add a second card user but couldn't activate the card because of convoluted password authentication.
Appalling customer service
Access to my account via my iPhone app and the web has been unavailable for almost 2 weeks due to a ‘technical problem’. I have contacted the customer service centre a number of times and have experienced 3rd class level of service. The phone line is distorted and full of static and to make matters worse the customer service people cannot speak English clearly. Outsourcing customer service to an overseas call centre is just not acceptable and I would not recommend this card to anyone, let alone a friend.
Worst Credit Card I Have Ever Had
Avoid this card at all costs. I have just had a recent terrible experience dealing with their deceptive terms and conditions and an extensive number of Qantas Money's (Citigroup) customer service representatives over many weeks to resolve an issue regarding said terms and conditions that should have been resolved in one phone call. I have used many cards in my time to accumulate 100s and 1000s of Qantas points, so when I say this is the worst, I speak from experience with all the rest.
Balance transfers on cards are usually a simple affair. No...interest for a fixed period, so as long as you pay off your retail transactions on time, you pay zero interest on the card full stop. Not with this card. They have made retail transactions 0 days interest free while you have a balance transfer. You also cannot pay off a retail transaction until it appears on a statement. So if you pay for something at the start of a cycle, you are guaranteed to pay at least one month of interest on said transaction until you can pay it off. This is despite the law stating higher interest incurring transactions must be paid off before lower interest incurring ones. I spoke to literally 10 of Citigroup’s customer service people over a 3 month period, 9 of whom agreed they were in the wrong and worked to help remove interest charges and undo payments against the balance transfer over transactions. The 10th smugly explained using their deceptive terms and conditions how I was wrong and they were right to charge me all of the interest they had. Although, he then went and did me me a favour and removed the more recent interest charges because the previous person I spoke to promised I wouldn’t continue paying interest if I didn’t cancel my card. They were wrong and I was still paying interest. This whole affair took about 3 months to resolve, no thanks to a customer service phone call system that hangs up on you intermittently, seemingly poorly trained customer service reps and terms and conditions designed to screw their customer. If an experienced credit card user can be deceived like this, how is the average customer supposed to know? AVOID!
Do not purchase this card
Worst experience ever. Secondary card holders can’t view all payments. monthly statements very confusing. Customer care based Overseas, was told no one available to speak with in Australia. When card was cancelled they took 6 months to refund money which was refunded to the card. Forced to launch an investigation as they lost the money which was refunded
Won’t apply any CITI products in the future
Bad credit check system and customer services. Rejected my application with no specific reasons. My income and expenses is far enough to apply the platinum card with $6000 limit. I had a few $15000 credit card before and always paid full on time. Nobody replied my dispute email as well.
You'll think you've died and gone to Customer Service Hell
The only reason to apply for this card is to score the sign on points. My strong advice is that you quickly pay it off and close it down. All customer service is done in a very cheap foreign call centre where the command of the English and knowledge of the product is really really really crap. You'll find yourself wanting to smash your phone against the wall in frustration. Anyone with a heart condition or a sliver of self-respect should stay away.
How the Qantas board is comfortable is associating the Qantas brand with this appalling financial product beggars belief.
Qantas - stick with flying. You know nothing about banking
Signing up was difficult... In the end I told them to keep their card but next minute it arrived in the post.
Then downloading the app....that was easy, but once you log in and each time you have to get a password via text to sign in. Then once in, if you want a statement, you have to sign in with a DIFFERENT password (it kept locking me out as I did not realise you need a DIFFERENT password. Then it does not have applepay...such a nightmare, so I have to carry my handbag to go shopping whereas I normally just take a phone. Dont get me start...
Great Credit Card - Absoloutely Appaling Service.
I really like the card and points. If you have to call them with a problem the service is terrible. I called them about making a full payment of my balance minus refunds I had received. They advised yes I can indeed deduct any refunds from the total. When I received my next statement low and behold there is an interest payment. I called them and after a long wait they advised no I cannot do that as per terms and conditions. I then advised that I made sure my initial conversation was recorded. He advised that my query must then go to a ca...ll centre in Manila. Of course they were busy and I would get a call back in 2 -3 days. Qantas maintain they are a proud Australian company however ship all customer service jobs offshore to Manila. You really stand by Aussies and Jobs - its no what you say its what you do.
Questions & Answers
Do I still need to spend $1500 per month to earn bonus points for?
Does Qantas send any confirmation (written document) indicating that the travel insurance have been activated after an over $500 air or cruise ticket purchase? We bought tickets to Bali but we are not sure if the travel insurance is indeed active.
It does not, unfortunately.
