Advertise out of print books and dont notify customers
Really dissatisfied actually. I ordered a childs book on the 10/3 still nothing by the 23/3 to then ring then to be told sorry its out of print! No refund no email/ letter advising either, so everyday i have a 3 year old going to the mail box waiting for NOTHING.

I was really happy with the online service. Both my orders arrived in great condition and a few days earlier than I expected! They might not be the cheapest around but free shipping definitely makes up for it. They're sales are awesome as well, I got a box set of 4 for thirteen dollars. That comes to about 3 dollars a book, pretty sweet deal!
Went to get some travel reads today at the Woden store in Canberra. Bought two books and continued shopping. Every subsequent store I set off the security alarms. Searched everywhere for the still active tag. Turns out the clever folk at Qbd now randomly place security tags in the middle of their books. I don't want a security tag in the middle of my book, halfway down the page. Why isn't it on the inside cover like in all other bookstores?
I went back to the store for them to remove the tag. The manager refused because it would damage the boo...
Very helpful staff
As bricks and mortar book stores are getting few and far between, it is a pleasure to be able to pop into the Hornsby QBD store to check out the new releases and discover new authors. The staff are friendly and could not be more helpful. My children adore books, but they are very particular in their tastes. The staff are only too willing to take the time to help them discover new authors that they will enjoy. The loyalty program is great too, especially for avid readers like us. Overall, I couldn't be happier with QBD books. I'm sorry to hear that not everyone has had such positive experiences. By only complaint is that I invariably end up buying too many books!

Useless source of Ebooks, limited to viewing with QBD's useless reader or Adobe Digital edition. Ver
I purchased my first online publication from QBD and found to my dismay that I was restricted to viewing it with the QBD reader, which will only display one line of tablature at a time, which is useless when teaching a student how to play an eight line solo in time with backing track. I contacted QBD and asked for an Epub version which they would not provide, instead they told me to use Adobe Digital Editions which is only marginally better than their reader ( I use Calibre on my PC). I then stopped by a QBD store to ask their advice. They ...agreed that the QBD reader is useless but weren't sure of my options. QBD's online response in effect said that I'd downloaded the publication, it could not be returned and I should have known better. I now know better than to buy any digital publications from QBD, and neither I nor my family will purchase any digital or print products from them again. There are better options available.

I absolutely love books and whenever my local store, Dymoks doesn't have my books in-store i head straight for QBD. Never once have i been there when they didn't have the book i was looking for. They have great service and very helpful staff. So to all those book worms out there, QBD is a great stock full of the latest trend books!
Don't use this bookstore
I suggest that no one makes the mistake I did and decide to give an Australian bookstore a go instead of using the usual overseas online one I always use. I made an order on the 18/7/15 and then remembered I hadn't received it it and checked the status on the 20/9. On ordering said it was available, now said on order no update had been made to me and I should have followed up sooner, so used to the other company delivering within 10 days and never had an issue so had slipped my mind. I contacted QBD only to be abruptly told the item was no l...onger available, no alopogies or further explanation, and asking how I paid for the order... So they could refund. I responded with negative feedback indicating I would not use then again and continue to go overseas, no acknowledgement of the content of my email or apology only stated a refund would be made within 2 days. Refund took 7 days. Beware of using them, or do as I will and continue to purchase online overseas where I receive the items within 10 days with free postage and fantastic service.

Good Online Service
After reading some bad reviews on here, I was worried about ordering from this bookshop online, but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt when I saw they had a set of books for cheaper than I could find anywhere else. They were quick. I received notification 1 business day later that the books had been dispatched and received promptly the next week. Give them a go. I had no problems!
Books are not available as advertised; total waste of time
The one time I ordered from QBD was a pre-order which had an advertised publish date. I pre-ordered the week before release. Upon the release date I didn't see any change in my order status, waited a few days and heard nothing. Contacted them and was told the book had been delayed and would be another 2 weeks. Waited 2 weeks, and they said again they are waiting for stock and would be yet another week. Waited another week, and yet another delay. A month goes by and still no book. Eventually they sent me an email saying the book is out of stock...with no date of availability. The website still showed the book as available and the original publish date. These people make it very difficult to support local bookstores. They can't even get a popular book in stock, and I could have ordered from overseas and had it delivered in a few days without fuss. I certainly won't be ordering from QBD again.
Would only be back if I couldn't find what I needed elsewhere
Bought a couple of books online from here. Paid extra for a tracking number- none was provided. When I contacted QBD about something else relating to this order I received a pretty blunt and condescending response. The order came in just under 2 weeks. I would buy from these guys again only if I couldn't find what I was looking for elsewhere. Not the best online retail experience, but not the worst either. I have bought in store and they were fine.

Their sales, I have got some great bargains sometimes with 50% off
Sometimes I dont pay attention to signs and their staff will point out if i can save money from buying another book to get a deal
They really need to look on their computer before they open their mouths sometimes, in store I asked for a graphic novel for Vampire Academy which is on their website, I asked if they could order it in - i rudely got told that they dont sell graphic novels and to try a comic book ...
Worst bookstore ever
i've ordered a book to get ready for my studies in Vce which i had ordered on the 18/12/14, its already the 01/01/2015 and i still havent had any word from them, i check my orders to see that it is still processing and had emailed them with still no replies in regards to when the book would be posted as vce is a big deal. it says that the book would be posted in 10-14 days but its still processing.
the book store is terrible, their service is revolting, they have false advertisement and their customer service is digusting. they have the time to update their website look for the new 2015 look but they cant even reply back to their customers.
Dont even think about ordering from this place!

I ordered a book online on 18.11.14, assuming that i would receive it within a week or the worst, two. Two weeks had nearly passed, i've received no book, no update on my order status. I emailed them on 1.12.14 to received a short message informing me that the book were out of stock. I understand that there maybe a chance the book were sold out right after but have never received any communication about that for nearly two weeks. Had I not asked for my order delivery status, i would have known nothing and kept waiting for the delivery that's ne...ver come. Yes, "Books have never been easier to find and buy online" but i figure out that it is not the case with QBD- the bookshop. Thank to QBD- the bookshop, I had the worst online shopping experience ever.

I ordered a book from QBD kawana shopping centre and never received any phone call about it.
This time I again ordered a book I was really wanting the girl told me the day it would be in the shop when this day came and went I rang the store, and asked about my book she had no idea but said she would find out but would I mind holding while she served a customer, ok but after being on hold for 10+ mins and hear her in the back ground saying next please I hung up.

I ordered and paid for a book on 20 July. The website said usually dispatched in 10-14 days. When I had heard nothing, on 28 July, I e-mailed to find out why my order said "pending" only to be told that the supplier was reprinting and the book would not be available till 19 August (long after I needed it for a charity fundraiser). This is 30 days after placing the order! An interstate QBD bookshop actually has a copy in their shop but QBD cannot send that copy to me! I was offered to cancel my order with QBD so I did,and have placed an order w...ith another online bookshop, Booktopia, same price, free delivery, friendly customer service, and now I will have the book in 3-4 days. Not sure why QBD simply can't state on their website whether a title is indeed in stock, or if it needs to be ordered prior to a customer placing an order. Other online stores are very clear about this. Huge waste of time!
