Qsuper Don`t Care and will not admit fault.
I have been with Qsuper for 31 years and was reasonably satisfied with the funds recent performance and have recently retired.
QSuper staff have given me conflicting advice in relation to administration processes over the phone that has cost my account considerable amount. These phone calls are recorded
I have tried to resolve the matter over the phone without success.
I have logged a detailed complaint in writing only to be told that complaints are looked at within 90 days.
I made a follow up phone call asking o speak to a supervisor, who...

I have been with QSuper for about 22 years and finally about 2 years ago I decided to take out Income Protection. Getting older and not knowing what the future holds, you never know what may happen and leave you in trouble so I figured I'd go ahead.
I truly wish I hadn't! Not only was my claim falsely rejected saying I had this as a pre-existing condition (which I did not) after 3 months of waiting and using up all my sick and annual leave now I am in a much worse position all round.
If you are wondering I have situational Anxiety caused by ...

I found myself in a situation where my company was going through an acquisition and I was being lumped with enormous amounts of work, staying 60+ hours a week, no lunch breaks and never being compensated with TOIL or OT and it eventually broke me. I went on leave on 16th December 2020, received one call from my "Case Manager" around 14th January to run over all the process (to which I was told this could take "some time" - thinking maybe a couple of weeks???) despite taking out a 30 day waiting period over their standard 90 Days.... and If you consider I started leave on 16th December I had already waited the 30 days. My "Case Manager" said she was contacting all my Dr's to make sure I had never had any previous condition to which I was claiming and I even helped her by going onto medicare and giving her a whole list. As well as 12 months worth of payslips (why she needed this when she gets my super every month was beyond me) but I proceeded to ask if she needed my further help... to which she did not respond.1 comment

Just rude
I have been with QSuper for many years. They recently asked me for a review. They stuffed up my tax deduction so I gave them a bad review then a lady phoned me to ask about the review. She never gave her name. I also mentioned that I have not worked for the last 6 months and had been paying income protection. She suggested I keep it even though I cannot claim as I am not working.
I lodged an intention to claim super as a tax deduction. Then I made an amendment. To it. They could not be bothered marking the amendment and when I phoned they said...

rude and desperate tactics
QSuper- you are using very rude and desperate tactics to try to stop your members from moving funds out; even when they’ve had professional advice that it’s in their best interest to do so. I’m an office manager for a financial planning company - we had recommended a client move a portion of their Super from QSuper to a different super fund to meet their goals, as this was in their best interest. QSuper called the client to stop them to do it, saying that we (their financial advisers) never could have given advice because we hadn’t enquired int...
Read moreo how their QSuper account was set up. That was incorrect as we had received written reports from QSuper. Our client also told QSuper that we had shown them up to date information from QSuper. So QSuper were even lying to the client, to avoid money being moved out of the account. Very poor behaviour from QSuper. This is not even the first time we come across an issue like this with you. It's obvious that you are training your stuff to do so and this is the reason why I will be sending shortly a formal complaint to AFCA.1 comment

As if there wasn't enough stress ...
Reading some of the previous reviews, I feel I am reading about my situation. I have been a customer of QSuper since 2000.
Applied to ATO for approval to access COVID super funds on 02.07.20. Approval was received 06.07.20. Notification was received from QSuper on the same day.
Received a telephone call on 08.07.20 to confirm my identification which was done electronically during this call. Bank details were sent that afternoon and I rang 09.07.20 to confirm they had been received. The officer I spoke to advised me that he had accessed my ema...

He advised that it should be released by Friday (10.07.20). Later that day I received an email … ‘We hope you accessing your super early has helped ease financial concerns cause by COVID-9. QSuper is here for you - through the good times and the tough ones.’ I haven’t accessed the funds as they haven’t been released. Why send such an email? I telephoned on Tuesday (14.07.20) to see if I could get an update and was told that they have a high number of requests to process and that it would be done as soon as possible. Again I explained my current financial situation and had the same spiel replied to me.4 comments

QSuper Are Unreliable, Dismissive And Dishonest
I've been with QSuper since 1991. In all that time I've only asked for their help on 3 occasions (all within the last 15 months) and they've managed to fail me every single time.
(1) Prior to having surgery in 2019 I contacted them about nominating a beneficiary for my Death Benefit. The QSuper employee I spoke with told me that since I had no partner or children I could nominate my Mother. I filled the forms in and sent them off and a few weeks later (they're really on the ball there) someone else rang to tell me I'd been 'misinformed'. I ha...
Read mored to prove our Mother/Daughter relationship was interdependent and met their criteria before my choice of beneficiary could be accepted. I had to jump through hoops and tell this complete stranger the ins and outs of my personal life before he'd approve my nomination. It's wonderful when someone adds to your stress levels prior to having major surgery....said no-one! (2) A couple of months later my sick leave ran out and I lodged some Income Protection claim forms. At that time I remember feeling very glad I had insurance because it meant I didn't have to worry while I was unable to work. How wrong could one person be? The whole thing was a debacle from start to finish and all I got from QSuper was MORE stress. About a week after submitting the numerous forms that were required I received an email from someone telling me he was in charge of my claim. This claims manager also told me he'd be in touch with me again very soon with an update. A couple of weeks went by and I heard nothing more about it so I tried to contact him....that's where the debacle began. He was either "not at work yet sorry", "in a meeting, sorry", "not available at the moment, sorry", "on another call, sorry" and "will have to ring you back, sorry". Not once did this so called claims manager ever return my call. When I eventually did get hold of him he very casually told me nothing had been done yet because he'd overlooked my claim. Seriously? How do you overlook someone's claim? This dolts promise to rectify the situation never transpired either - he just fobbed me off with one excuse after another. It was as if he'd been told he had to pay me out of his own pocket! He promised me (twice) that the funds had been approved and processed and would soon be in my account. I didn't receive any money when he said I would. He then became impossible to contact again and of course he never 'got back to me' either. I did eventually receive a payment....the day I returned to work. I was so angry and disgusted that I lodged a complaint with QSuper about my 'claims manager'. Given their general lack of interest I don't imagine anything was ever done about him or his shoddy management of my claim. (3) Now (like the last reviewer) I'm having trouble getting QSuper to hand over my COVID-19 early release super money. My application was lodged around 2 a.m on the 1st of July. I received confirmation of the ATO's approval on the 3rd of July and that's where the process screeched to a grinding halt. Days later, when other people with better and far more competent funds were receiving their money, my balance hadn't changed and I'd heard nothing from QSuper. Knowing how utterly useless they are I rang them to see what the problem was - and I knew there WOULD be a problem. The person I spoke with told me a hold had been placed on my money because I hadn't specified which account I wanted it taken from (Defined or Accumulation). This is complete and utter garbage. It's not possible to complete the application until you've nominated an account. When I called him out on this lie he just ignored me. To date I've spoken with three different people about this hold up and they've all told me a different story..."It's being processed tomorrow", "It will be in your account Friday afternoon", "we started counting 5 days from Tuesday so it will be processed early Monday morning" "you should have it early Tuesday morning". Yeah right. QSuper may have been instructed by the ATO to give me MY money but they're dragging their feet the whole way. They obviously believe they're a law unto themselves, while I believe they deserve to be reported to the AFCA....so that's exactly what I'm going to do. As inadequate as that seems, it's the only recourse available to me in this situation. I don't think it's unreasonable of me to expect QSuper to do their job properly. Instead all they've done is lie to me and treat me like I'm an idiot. To anyone reading this I say avoid QSuper like the plague! Don't even THINK about giving them your money because once they have it you'll have a fight on your hands getting it back again. If they've stuffed up and it adversely effects you, they'll lie through their teeth about it. You'll be constantly chasing them up to fix their mistakes and believe me, they won't be in any hurry to do so. They're dismissive, unreliable, incompetent and dishonest. My experiences with QSuper have been truly awful and from what I've read there are far better funds available now. Please, do some research and take advantage of the choices I never had.4 comments

Q Super Are Arrogant
Q Super do not care about their existing members in COVID-19 conditions.
They promote on their website that they will aim to release members funds in five (5) business days.
I reminded Q Super today that is actually my money they are holding.
They couldn't care less.
Nor could they confirm a date now five (5) business days being tomorrow as to when they would actually release my money.
No one should be held to ransom by a Superannuation Company in this COVID-19 pandemic.
Q Super has dropped the ball servicing it's members.

Most unhelpful, rude and dismissive staff
I was with this fund through multiple years and employers. Spoke to them regarding COVID-19 early release - they botched my application then told me I would need to fix it myself - there is nothing they could do. She was so rude and dismissive I got off the phone in tears. DO NOT USE THIS FUND. Never have I been thus treated in my life.

Bad performance
Ever since they changed their fund managers, their returns have been shocking. Stay away from their money-grabbing balanced option. This option is set up to pour your money into the banks. e.g. Our balance has gone down $43000 since the start of the Coronavirus Pandemic. Our dreams have been destroyed thanks to both QSuper and China. Seek financial advice before joining this group.

I thought they were good, but not now.
I've been with the fund for twenty years and always thought they were good until today. I'm retired and my balance is about to drop below a threshold amount they introduced in 2019, and I've been told I either cant touch my money or I have to close the account. Amazingly they still claim to be run for their members and they are not for profit. They were happy to have my account for twenty years, and now it's a case of "get lost". Really unhappy at being treated this way after being with them so long.

I will probably die before I get any resolution from QSuper.
Recently diagnosed with a brain tumour, prognosis of 12 to 18 months to live. Been with QSuper since 2012. Claims manager initially assures me that with my income protection insurance policy, I will only have a 2 week waiting period and will be back paid if my claim takes a while to process. Read moret ‘ done by my G P. I asked claims manager to put her false allegations in writing which she ignores. Claims manager was wrong. I was actually on full time contract at the time. On the phone Claims manager accuses me of working for a different employer prior to 24th December 2016 (opt in day for income protection). Claims manager says she will get back to me about these false allegations. As usual she doesn’t. I had in fact been working for same employer for four years prior to 24th December 2016 and paying regular QSuper contributions. I then find out that in my income protection had been cancelled on 5th February 2016 , which was 6 days before undergoing previous radical cancer surgery on the 11th February 2016. I have found the claims manager unprofessional, and in spite of asking for all issues she raises being documented in writing she just ignores me. Even requesting general information such as what type of income insurance protection I have been paying for for the last 8 years will take up to 45 days for QSuper to respond. I have found QSuper and particularly the claims manager so ill informed and unhelpful. I sent the death benefits nomination form to the claims manager. I asked her to forward it on to the appropriate section. She said she faxed it on but on enquiring I was told the form had disappeared. I feel claims manager uses her phone calls to intimidate with false information and accusations. She refuses to substantiate her accusations in writing. To me I feel it’s bullying. QSuper does not support its members. Time is running out for me, and I will probably die before I get any resolution.2 comments

Gone downhill since being opened up to the public
I’ve been with them for 16 as a mandatory superfund for my work. The fund has always only been open to government employees until very recently. With this change (as expected) the fund has gone downhill, poor customer service, refusal to pay insurance claims, slow to process requests. The last change of investment mix request took over a week for example. Sending in manual forms never get processed. They need to take a long hard look at their decision to open their doors if they can’t cope with the extra members

They advised they wouldn't provide any refund even though they hadn't provided me with the service.
Only been with them a short period and have been screwed over from the start.

Do not walk. Run.
Member of over 10 years. QSuper is an organisation that expands and adds junk insurance to your account directly against your specified wishes: then hides under legal cover. Watch your statements closely and expect the addition of unwanted charges, particularly "income protection insurance". If you are a busy working person, best to avoid QSuper in the first place to avoid the hassle.

They paid doctors and specialist who work for them to write reports to say she can work and they also submitted reports to the member delegate from a woman that my partner never met nor was told about at all. It has now been passed on to lawyers . These case manager's are all crooks. They chose what to use and what not to use when making a decision . We had her doctor her specialist and a psychologist all on her side saying she can't ever work again . They didn't even use the psychologists report .
Anyone going for a tpd claim do yourself a favour and go straight through a lawyer I wish we did that from the start it would have saved us so much time . If q super don't have to pay you they bloody won't no matter the situation they will find a way not to pay you .
