DO NOT HIRE IF POSSIBLE - BULLYING AND INTIMIDATION TACTICS!
***DO NOT HIRE IF POSSIBLE - YOU WILL REGRET IT***
My wife and I have moved several times within the past 5 years, and we have never experienced such bad service.
The two removalists who showed up were extremely slow and unproductive. Usually, it takes 45 minutes to an hour to pack up our things onto the truck. These "workers" took 2.5 hours. To the point where my father in his 70s, my wife, and myself had to jump in and help to speed up the process. It was blatantly clear for us all to see that they were purposely taking their time, as they ...charge by the hour. In the first 45 minutes, they barely moved anything. I kept wondering what is taking them so long in between coming up and down the apartment. On 2 occasions, I went outside to check on them and both times they were just sitting down casually chatting on the phone and having a smoke. Then, on the way to the designated address to drop off the furniture, they got "lost" and couldn't find the address (even though I gave them the correct address).
- was moving 1 bedroom apartment with office corner
- Short distance move (Lidcombe to Ashfield)
- Move did not start on time and lasted 2 days
Absolutely terrible service. My moving was 2 days and would take more if I didn’t insist on moving my furniture for extra pay and multiple calls.
Moving (only furniture - no boxes) for 1 bedroom apartment with an office took 2 days (10 hours), on the first day few items were left in the old apartment - they said they don’t have a specific tool to disassemble a piece of furniture (it was a basic screw t...
Work Slow......Then Extort!!
Avoid These Crooks And Find An Afra Accredited Removalist
These guys will work as slow as they can to drag the job out:
- Carry 1 box at a time,
- talk on and use their mobile whilst they are supposed to be working
- Stand and discuss between themselves what to do, rather than pick up a box and take it to the truck
- Take the longest road route between your old and new house…(I have photo’s)
- Then before they finish the job, they will hold your remaining belongings to RANSOM until you make payment for their EXTORTIONATE amount!!!!
- Physically stop you from unloading boxes from the truck and make you out to be the criminal....
Do not trust these people, they will damage your property and not take ownership, they will then lie straight to you and tell you that they damage was already there and that they didn't do it. Don't trust the postive reviews, my friend and I have been victims of this 'company'. They will take their time so that they can charge you more money. Just disgusting. The removalists were so unprofessional, they were more concerned about checking out my new place than moving my items in a careful way. I will continue to expose your horrible service. My ...friend also went through the exact same thing with these people, I only found out after my move that my friend had used the same company. I wish I spoke to my friend before the move so that I could have avoided.
Don't ever ever use this company 0 stars
This was by far the worst company i have ever used in all my five moves in the last four years. If you care about your valuable items then I would never use this company. Arrived in a small truck that would have never fit our items then were so slow with the move that it took them more than 7 hours with multiple family members helping. Extremely rude customer service personnel who think the world owes them something. Run as fast as you can hire your own truck if you need but never use this company
BEWARE should be ZERO, but not possible!
Placed in the quote 2 bedroom house, from storage to new unit. Moved from Blacktown to Gosford, arrived on slightly early (8:45, requested 9:00) but that's where it ended. Brought a smaller truck and threatened that not all my items were going to fit into the truck. Loading was fine took 2 hours, but unloading took 3.5 hours with multiple smoking and rest breaks. Took one item at a time, damaged the new property and my items. Then I got a phonecall stating they were going to charge me for 7 hours (8:30 to 3:30) but when I told them they had alr...eady taken $250 deposit which included 2 hours they said that was not included in the extra 7 hours they charged me and then proceeded to hold my items hostage until I agreed to pay the unitemised invoice. After requesting a further review of the invoice we were told that we were getting charged for the truck to return all the way back to the depot not to the end of the move time. I will be reporting this company to fair trading to say the least and just hope enough people heed my warning. Get everything in your move itemised and documented or they will take advantage..
Do not hire this company! ‘Quick’ Move kept us waiting for over 11 hours, charged us extra, damaged our items, and did not and still has not moved all our items. Read the reviews about arriving late (including the next day), poorly trained workers, sending trucks too small therefore requiring multiple trips, and ignoring phone calls.
We moved a 2-bedroom apartment that should have been completed in about 7 hours maximum. We are now 55+ hours (3 days!) in and they have not completed the job. We had booked for 10am specifically with [Name Remov...ed] but after booking they sent info that 10am means a 'three-hour window' (10am-1pm). We emailed [Name Removed] again to book for 10am specifically so that the movers could park legally outside and she assured us that the movers only had a small job before us at 7am and that the movers would work with us (implying 10am would be fine). Day 1: movers arrived at 1.05pm for our 10am booking. Didn’t wrap/protect most of our furniture despite 4 requests. Dragged unwrapped mattress along ground and subsequently denied doing so despite both of us witnessing it. Chipped and stained furniture because it wasn’t protected. Kicked boxes and tipped boxes (including those marked fragile) upside down and on their sides and denied doing so (we have photos). Sent too small a truck despite knowing the size of our move and then knowingly left some of our possessions behind - in the first apartment and in the building foyer! Operations manager [Name Removed] promised to send another truck the next day to collect our remaining possessions. Day 2: I travelled 1 hour each way to the old apartment and waited 8 hours for them (12pm-8pm). I called and messaged multiple times and [Name Removed] assured me they would come. They never came. They wasted 10 hours of my time. [Name Removed] promised me they would come the next day. Said he would call at 9am with an exact time, with at least an hour to an hour and a half notice. [Name Removed] did not put this promise in writing despite multiple requests and despite agreeing to do so. Day 3: [Name Removed] (a mover) calls at 8.50am and says that [Name Removed] said if I cannot be at the apartment in 15 minutes, they can’t move our stuff. I tell him it will take me an hour by public transport and that I will contact [Name Removed]. [Name Removed] never replied. It’s after 7pm. They haven’t moved our possessions.
Really bad. Slowest I’ve ever had and they damaged my fridge
1 bedroom apartment
Short distance Sydney metro less than 40 min drive
Slowest and most unprofessional guys I have ever had - [name removed] was in almost a sedated mode he was so slow
And they damaged my fridge
Worst Moving Experience
Very Poor Experience
We contacted Quick Move to arrange re-locating from Cattai NSW to North Kellyville and was Quoted $325 for the first 2 hours, then $65 phh thereafter. First of all the driver got lost and came two and a half hours late because didn't follow my instructions due to flooded streets around Cattai. The driver and the removalist didn't speak a word of English therefore couldn't follow instructions. The driver texted me at 06:30am to ask if he can arrive at 07:00am, then turned up at 09:15am as he was coming along the flooded rout...
Poorly managed operation. I wasted two days on these guys. Don't do the same.
I wish I had read these reviews before booking my move. Do not use this company. Arrived 5 hours late, then they refused to do the move because it was late to move! Go figure. There were a number of heavy items and I did feel for the guys after doing other moves all day (they blamed Management for underestimating the move to them - which I had detailed every item in the quote request). I spoke to [name removed]/[name removed], who was very apologetic for the error, so I agreed to push the move until 7am the next day. I was assured 7am worked, a...nd I needed it to be early as I couldn't spare another day on this. But guess what?!? They then turned up at 9am. I couldn't believe they were late again. [name removed]/[name removed] blamed traffic, but he knew all along that the driver would never get to the move on site after the driver left the PENRITH depot at 6:30am to get to the Eastern Suburbs at 7am. Did I get a call to let me know the truck was arriving late? Of course not, that's just too much to ask. I've got lots of other things to do, but these guys couldn't give a rats... I run a business, and if a mistake has been made on my end, I will make sure everything goes smoothly and go above and beyond to rectify things. Not these guys. You work on their clock. However, when the move actually started, the guys were great. I wasted two days on these guys. Don't do the same.
Wouldn't bring my sofa upstairs, had to get Winning Appliances delivery guys to do it.
TL,DR: didn't want to take a sofa upstairs and I had to get other delivery men from Winning Appliances to do it. Charged for 5 hours when same job has only taken other companies 3-3.5 hours. Were rude to my mother in law. Left without saying goodbye.
Let me start off by saying this wasn't the first move I've done. I have had three moves over the last 2 years with the same furniture. I informed the company we needed to move a queen ensemble and headboard, king single ensemble, three chests of drawers, stretch machine, washer, dryer, TV cabinet..., Lazyboy recliner, 1 sectional sofa, 2x slimline display units, bedframe (still in box unassembled). Fridge (to be transported to another address in same suburb) and around 8-10 boxes of kitchenwares, small appliances, clothes, food, toys, etc. Moving from a single storey to a double storey home. It started off with the guys telling me they needed to bubble wrap some cabinets because they were glass and it would cost $130. Other removalist companies I have used have bubble wrapped glass for free so to be told within the first 10 minutes this was an extra cost wasn't great. I declined and said can't you just wrap it in blankets which they did. There were only two of them so they were a bit slow but they were working hard and friendly. Then when we arrived at the new house, they asked where our sectional sofa was going. It's a five seater modular that comes apart, the largest being two seats/chaise. I've attached a photo. I said it was going upstairs. No, we can't do that, it's too hard, too heavy, please no. He was adamant they couldn't do it and then conceded, fine if we do it we take no responsibility for damaging anything. We were lucky our fridge and washing machine were being delivered at the same time. The Winning Appliances guys said, no problem, we can do it. Without a fuss, the fridge guys quickly took it upstairs and did no damage to the walls or the staircase. They even offered to help with any of the other larger stuff that needed to go upstairs, to which the Quickmove removalists became sarcastic and said, well you do it then and I'll just sit back and watch. The Winning appliances guys were very friendly and sincere about offering to help.. From then on, the Quickmove guys were no longer friendly. At one stage one was standing over my mother in law, who told them they had put the chest of drawers in the wrong place. Then argued with her and told her to just stay downstairs rather than come upstairs and dictate where things needed to be (she was also checking they weren't ruining the walls).
Never trust a company that doesn’t speak English!
They automatically quote you, agree to complete your job, turn up out of the time frame (with no notice) and then upon delivery ask for ‘more money’. Never threaten a customer with you won’t release goods of your truck unless more money!!
It was a small move, just few pieces of furniture across the City centre. I booked the company one week earlier, confirmed the time and 3 hours window. I took time off work and the person from whom the furniture was transported also came earlier from work. We both waited... waited... waited. Every hour I was phoning the office to be told - just wait and be patient. The removalists never arrived, nobody ever phoned and apologised.
When I called the office after 4 hours of waiting, the person in the office was quick to offer the refund on the deposit. But what about our time? what about our loss of income, stress and work left unfinished.
This is not a way to operate, this is lack of respect for the client and total lack of professionalism.
Much better companies out there, don't use these guys.
Unprofessional company that seems to really hate customers telling it how it is.
Booking is really easy and deliberately so as once you've booked them, they'll send you an email with all the rules and regulations that appear nowhere on their webpage unless you go hunting for it via various links I guess.
They don't turn up on time and turn up whenever they feel like it. You book them between the hours you wish to move and they use these times as their window for whenever they decide to arrive. Book them between 12 & 2 and they can arrive at ...
Damaged the property and refused to take responsibility
I had one bedroom of stuff to move from Randwick to Surry Hills - a less than 10 minute drive away and a seemingly easy move, especially for professionals. At the time I thought they were fine. We left the pick up premises at the same time and I managed to arrive 25 minutes before them, despite the lack of traffic and close proximity... Nevertheless, I ignored this and thought it wasn't worth the hassle of complaining. However, I returned to the pick up premises to find that my door had been broken in the process of moving - and it could only h...ave been from the removalists as there was no one else home that night and I doubt anyone would be strong enough to do that themselves anyway - unless they were pushing heavy furniture and appliances against it... I brought this up with quick move as soon as I noticed it, sending photos of the damage caused, and asking for a resolution process as it was not outlined in their Ts&Cs. They denied all responsibility for it and claimed that it was 'common sense' that they would not be liable for damage that THEY caused. I asked for them to send the removalists back to have a look and jog their memory of when they did it, but still nothing. I chose this company because it was the cheapest I could find that didn't look totally dodgy, and as I don't have much money to be splashing out on expensive removalists, let alone property repairs, I thought it was a good decision. I was wrong and I would definitely not recommend this company.
