Did not keep their promise. Terrible service.
We signed up with multiple company files. These companies were small so we were looking for a discount. Their sales offered 50% discount of the RRP for LIFE as long as we keep the multiple files active. We got everything in writing to make sure no mishaps in the future.
Looking like a great offer, we spent thousands in accounting fee's to get the data migrated across to Quickbooks.
Things looked good, until 2 years later. They said they couldn't keep promising the deal anymore even though we kept our promise.
And just like that, discount g...one and I'm paying full price. We are now taking legal action and requesting if anyone having similar experience please get in touch. For the rest of you, I'd advise caution. Its cloud service companies like these who can at any moment increase fee's and hold you by the neck. Get an accounting software where you can.
Software is lacking but the tech support is the worst I have encountered
The software is lacking key features like timesheets in apps. I have tried on multiple occasions to get support from them but have failed repeatedly. The team make no effort to assist beyond reading basic troubleshooting and say anything to end the chat. They don't follow up on anything they commit to doing.

The Tech Support is a joke. Feel like talking to a 16-year old. I wrote my problem in great detail, email, livechat, provided screenshot and all that. They never seem to understand and going round the circle.
The latest drama is bank-feeds. One of my bank accounts is not getting bank feeds suddenly, which we have submitted the Bank Feed Authentication more than 6-months ago. God knows why it suddenly played up. So I emailed my previous Form, show ...them that the feeds have stopped in January-2020. Email a few screenshots as requested. Then told them I had to do a manual upload of transactions so that I can finalise my BAS..... Guess what did they asked from me a moment ago? A screenshot of the banking and bank statement..... Clearly it will show what I've done manually.... They just dont follow the story and I bet none of them has any accounting degree, or even business. There are so many bad poor examples I am just speechless!
It does not have the capability to perform as it should
- no GST listed in submissions
- no ability to properly reconcile receipts
- it's user friendly but has a way to go before it can be used as a proper accounting tool
Very poor support, incorrect reporting
Quickbooks has a support team 24/7 which looks like paradise. Unfortunately, if you really need to talk to them and deal with them it's like banging your head on a wall. Very few of them are bright . They keep asking you silly questions and messing up your account even more, to then send you directly to your Accountant! The Profit & Loss and balance sheet are a mess!. In the meanwhile the cost of subscription increased 100% . I am really considering going back to my Excel Spreadsheets. I don't see the point of spending this money for a mess!

Get into the real world quickbooks software designers and you will quickly realise how impractical this software is for running a business. Trying xero today

We have used this software for 3 years. In the last 11 months we have had a 43% increase in price (we were not on any special deal to begin with). QB's couldn't careless they know how hard it is to migrate, and sure do not make it easy. Try getting your data out, no help at all, not interested.
Support is a useful as a chocolate tea pot!!
The Software is so slow (compared to other Saas we use), this really is detrimental to productivity. Over the last year or so it has just got slower and slower, stay clear if you value your sanity.
no refunds for unused product, unhelpful customer service
I purchased this app through a bookkeeper introduced by a course provider. Buying the app from that bookkeeper was a Huge mistake! Her rates were higher and she provided no training (as promised) but charged separately for account set-up ($140). I paid for the software for 6 months ( top rates) and was unable to use it. When I finally tried to use it I discovered that I had no admin power over my account ( that bookkeeper had it). I called Quickbooks for help and they recommended to start a new account(!!!) as there was nothing they could do a...bout it! They stated the information in the old account would still be available for one year. After I started a new account and closed the old, I disconnected my till and bank account to reconnect with the new account. That must have triggered something in the old account as everything turned zero and I was not able to add anything else while I was trying to finish my reporting for the last financial year. Practically I lost everything in the old account although I was told I could use that information for that year and I also lost the option of adding anything. I got no refund for the old account although it was not used! I discussed with Quickbooks Customer Service who said there was nothing they could do ! In conclusion: they foster bookkeepers with ripoff attitudes sacrificing the actual customer !
Support is useless. Digusting customer service
I've used QuickBooks Self Employed for over a year with no issues. I started an additional business so opened another QuickBooks account. When the free trial expired, it wouldn't let me subscribe. So I contacted support. They extended the free trial, and said they'd get back to me with a solution. They did not. I have repeated this process several times. Each time, they delete my support ticket a week after telling me they're working on a solution. Tonight, I found out that they have cancelled my account and deleted everything. All my data...go...ne, with no way for me to retrieve it to lodge my BAS. My work around was going to be getting an account for the next tier up from Self Employed, but after this, I don't want anything to do with them. I'll be taking both of my businesses elsewhere. There is no longer a support team in Australia for QuickBooks Self Employed, so I presume they no longer want our business.
They tell you a discount will apply to your account before you sign up. Once you sign up, they will charge you the standard fee. When you claim the overcharged payment, they will tell you they have to investigate. And they won't give you a refund or any response.

To get my business Intuit / Quickbooks offered me a free conversion from Xero, they outsourced it to a Vietnamese company who butchered my accounts, $1500, they keep on giving me the run around (they have been "Investigating" for over 6 months, not that hard to work out they are trying to delay so I forget about it!.
Terrible software and now they insit on a 250% price increase with reduced services! Insane, they will quickly be taken over. Rubbish staff and support. Do not go anywhere near these scammers.

Poor customer service - they keep taking my money and I dont even have an account with them! Service consultants won't call you, dont care. Incredibly disappointed. Please don't choose this company.
Waste of time
After spending money and a lot of frustrating time setting up QuickBooks, I have found that the program doesnt work properly with a tablet. Spent many more frustrating hours on the phone to the Philippines call centre only to be run around in circles and told we are aware of the issues but there is nothing we can do. Spoke with an Australian tech and was told do whats best for your business, in other words we couldnt care less and use another program. Absolutely useless.

Wasted too much time
I started the Quickbooks trial , input hours worth of data, sent invoices, set about classifying and organising linked accounts and expenses, and contacted Quickbooks because their subscription option was not available through my desktop. Links to a mobile phone app disappeared into the ether. Quickbooks support said that I needed to upgrade to a different version than self employed and that my data would not migrate to the new platform. The subscription function would only work on a mobile. When I asked why this wasn't made clear during the...trial sign up he said it was, most people don't read the product disclosure and laughed. It would've been funny it it was funny. I wasted over ten hours on their trial, have invoices floating around in the ether that will be difficult to chase, and went back to Reckon which I was able to subscribe to within the program , easily.
Level of technical support/customer service unsurpassed
I've recently trialled MYOB, Xero and Quickbooks for our small but complicated finance business. The level of support received from Quickbooks is like nothing I have ever experienced with any other company (aside TPG who also have a great call centre). Following my sign up, I had a Quickbooks rep email and call me to see if I needed help with anything - and not just once either. Their helpdesk was incredible, not only with their manners and people skills but also they were quick to get through to, and they helped guide me through the steps I ne...eded to do in order to achieve my desired outcome. The program may not have the most attractive user interface, but it has all the standard features and even some that the others dont (for instance I can make any change I want to an invoice after its been paid). Quickbooks is also really affordable and better value for money. I was really surprised to read the other reviews on here, because honestly - I would recommend it highly, because its cheap, it does what the others do and the support provided far exceeds the others (especially you, MYOB).
Changes the functionality with the clock in app
Was ok when it worked with my clock in app Tsheets. Now I have to manually do pays through quick book. Went from a 10 min pay run to 2hrs
TERRIBLE AFTER SALES SERVICE
I bought the desktop version of Quickbooks a number of years ago. It worked well for my purposes which basically involved private company financials for tax return purposes. I am a retired chartered accountant and did my own books. every second year I needed to call in to activate my software at no cost. Upon doing it again today I was told that the old software was not being supported anymore and that there was no way I could continue using software, that I had paid for in future. My only option was to pay an additional $505 and update to the online version. I think it is appalling that a product that i paid for in full can just be taken away from me. There is a specific word for such an action ...
Saves my business time!
I've been subscribed to Quickbooks Intuit to run our primary production business for a couple of years now and we are pleased with how efficient it is. I have no experience in book keeping, yet have managed to do all our own Business activity statements and invoicing etc with ease.
