Do Not make the mistake of believing the five star reviews on qbo intuits webpage. They won't let an
This has to be approx. 20 years behind in customisability and has some of the most complicated and glitchy platforms I could imagine possible. I don't know where they found their developers but imagine they are paid very poorly even if they are using child labour. There support are friendly and reply fairly quickly but never give a useful resolution and usually say they may improve this and that in the future. I would be very surprised if this was not the worst option to go for if you want to retain your sanity as all the things you need to do ...on a multiple basis every day is acctually counter "intuit"ive. You can't go, Next Invoice, previous Invoice as our ancient old system allowed. Instead you constantly have to do about five clicks in order to see the next invoice. A simple thing like getting you font in the correct position for a Invoice slip and the right size is ??Impossible. Really! When a Paid Invoice is printed the the PAID goes over the customer's PO number so you can't read it. Please learn from our mistake and try something else. UPDATE: Yet more problems so I did live chat. the person ended chat because I took about two minutes to reply with my account ID contact again and half way through problem explanation, they ended the chat because I was serving a customer and took about 3 minutes to respond. I then got really annoyed and called. The ?customer service?? is shocking! I told them about leaving a review here and he said I can do what I like. I asked how it is on their website they have 4.5 stars and there is no way anybody would rate them that high and could not tell me if this was honest information. If you currently use Reckon then stay with that or find a different accounting system. In the end there was no solution to the five major issues I enquired about and they do not seem interested in the feedback at all. These issues should not even require one complaint to see this is a serious development fail. qbo really are the COMPLETE OPPOSITE of INTUITIVE!!
I have GST bug in my quickbooks account. it has been more than 8 weeks. I took more than 2 hours spend on this issue and quickbooks officer found out the issue. But the IT team cannot solve it, and keep asked me to try different computer log in, different ISP, request to take video prove what is the bug come from.
it's not allow me to use computer to prepare my business activity statement. They advise me download the quickbooks apps to prepare my BAS as the apps work fine with it.
But I am still paying full fees.............with GST bug still going..........
NO ONE UPDATE OR FIX THIS ISSUE YET!!!!!
Buggy product, Customer support is a joke, dont waste your time or money.
I have had issues with calculation of expenses, no one from Quick Books can figure it out, (spoken with 4 people and spent about 6 hrs on the phone with a team that clearly don't understand their product or basic accounting principals), escalated twice due to inaction and repeated promises to get back to me being broken, now after 2 escalations (and 2.5 mths of chasing them for a response) they now just ignore me as they are unable to figure it out. The last escalation point who was supposed to be senior and who went away and spoke to their tea...m who built the program, came back to tell me nothing was wrong with the product but the calculations don't include tax. I checked and tax is clearly calculated in a column marked tax and a quick mental calculation of 10% isn't hard to figure out this answers is completely off mark. Such basic stuff, its amazing what rubbish their senior customer support tried to give me. And then I got a reply to a negative comment I left online, (which I was happy about as I though I would finally get some action on the issue) but that contact said they would get someone to help me and they were sorry, (2 weeks later) I was contacted by the person I last dealt with, they promised to get back to me following day with information, that was 3.5 weeks ago. Now can't do my taxes properly as I am left with a mess.
Terrible service and support, software also has bugs that no one can fix because it is all outsource
Problems, and then more problems, hopeless support, they cannot help you as they only have a basic understanding themselves, you try to explain problems, even outline then in idiot proof screen shots, still you are told to do the same thing over and over again, flush the cache, do you know how to reconcile, please... If you can't get through to someone in the USA &/or support tickets are not monitored by the US, then all you are getting is third rate, third world software and support and boy can you tell. I thought they are coming to Australia ...to offer a reasonably priced solution to compete with the more expensive locally based products, well after our experience I wished we had paid more, keep sticking with it hoping these bugs will get fixed, but I doubt it, will probably have to go to another solution which we did not want to do as they are a rip off for small business. Please Quickbooks, FIX your software it can't be that HARD???
Good product but really bad support
QuickBooks is a great way to stay on top of things if your self employed But if you need support it is one of the worst support systems I have come across
Takes them for ever to get back to which is very frustrating.
Come on quick books you have an awesome product why not make your support team awesome as well
Excellent in some areas, terrible in others
I operate a small business, and after downloading several competing products (including MYOB, Saasu, and Xero) I found that I got further, faster, with QBO. The price is good, and after a bit of time setting things up the way I want, it is now lightning fast to create and send invoices and manage expenses (it monitors my business bank account, so it 'sees' every transaction and matches expenses against rules and income against open invoices). It handles my BAS well and monthly reconciliations only take a few seconds as everything just matches u...p. I couldn't possibly do all of my invoicing etc in Excel any more, WAY too time consuming and laborious. QBO is fast and efficient and my accounts are just always up to date with minimal admin input from me. QBO also lets you export your data in a format you can work with, not all of them do. But it isn't all fun and games. While I would describe it as fast and reliable, it feels like it is being developed by monkeys. Seriously, there are some really basic things it does so badly it's like nobody at Intuit actually USES it. They constantly fiddle with things that work fine - making them worse - and they fail to address glaring bugs. Customer support is via 'chat', which is fine when you just need help using the software, but it is useless for reporting bugs and anything tricky. You'll spend hours 'chatting' with somebody in broken English only to be told 'I guess it is designed that way' and worse, 'please send feedback to the developers'. Clearly this 'support' is outsourced to a third party that has no direct line to Intuit developers. Unfortunately, ALL of these online accounting services are similar. I guess it's a new area, the big players in the industry are trying to make themselves appear younger and more nimble than they really are, and the new players are all mouth and facebook with big flaws in their products. Fortunately most of them offer free trials so my advice is do what I did, sign up for all of them, and try to get your business data set up in all of them while you continue to do things the old way for a while. You'll soon figure out that while product A might be much better than product B at some things, it has a major deal-breaking flaw you cannot live with so it's out of the running anyway. Ultimately you'll narrow down the one that's the best fit for your business. One other thing to bear in mind with any of these packages - you really need to work with an accountant that is familiar with the software (and ideally, 'accredited' by the developer). You really don't want him telling you to run a ton of reports so that he can then charge you for hours of inputting the data into his own system. I was surprised to discover that a lot of accountants haven't got up to speed with any of these online systems yet, treat them with suspicion, and have no idea how to get data from them. The whole point of these systems is to streamline your accounting processes and keep everything 'live' and up to date at all times, if your accountant isn't totally on board and proficient with it then you are wasting your money. My advice is find the software that works for your business, then find an accountant that supports it.
Bad customer service and no customer care number
Just wanted to warn anybody thinking of getting Quickbooks online.
Got fleeced by them by offering 70% discount on monthly subscription.
Spoke to a lady [name removed]
She took my credit card details offering me 24 hour customer support.
Tried downloading the software on my Mac.
Couldn’t do it.
When I called her she tells me they don’t have software supporting Mac they are trying the Beta version which I was not told before accepting my credit card details!!!!!!
When asked for a refund she said I have to go online and cancel my subscription
Which I did instantly.. ...
I signed up for a free trial and am so thankful because I can't even get started! It looks to have far more than I need anyway. I've been using Excel for several years and a friend recommended Quickbooks. I spent an hour or more today just trying to enter more than a business name. I had a phone call from the company and the man was very friendly--he said he'll ring back in a few days. At the moment, I really hate it and can't justify spending any more time, or any money, on it.
I decided to end the free trial. I still got...
This program is a joke. There are times that I cannot even access the invoicing section to send a customer an invoice. Customers complain because they cannot open their invoice that I have sent, which makes me look very unprofessional. I then have to send them a PDF from my email so they can view their invoice, which makes the feature of being able to know when your customer has viewed their invoice useless.
Their have been times that I have been in the middle of doing an invoice and the program shuts itself down and I have to start all over ...
Does not function correctly, crashes, fails to import data, support is hopeless and very, very slow.
I have the latest MYOB but my accountant recommended going to an online package. Intuit has Quick Books with many glowing claims about what it can do etc. So I ordered a subscription to the highest level.
It took 6 weeks before I could get it to even work with a continual error about my account. Intuit finally accepted full responsibility but never offered a partial refund and it took six (6) weeks for them to fix it.
So with the BAS due in a few weeks I imported my MYOB files. What a disaster. The numbers were a mess and all wrong. Int...uit took so long to even acknowledge the problem I ended up using MYOB for the BAS. Despite proving all of this to them, Intuit take no responsibility and just say well you have to manually delete all the records and start again. I tried this and just get error after error - it is maddening! Intuit just reply with weak answers and never address the core issue. They just run you around and around. It is absurd.
