Very rude service
I have no complaints about the products, fast approval and fast delivery.. however there was a muck up with the direct debit dates at no fault of my own, when my direct debit didn't go through due to wrong direct debit day, Steve from Kawana Radio Rentals threatened to get someone out to collect the furniture without hearing my explanation, he harassed not only me but my work mates when I was unable to take the phone calls, was very rude and be belittling, he should not be working in customer service, he is abusive and thinks he is better than you.. and for that reason I would NOT recommend radio rentals to my friends or family as no one should be treated in that mannor.
Terrible after sales service - keep away
I have a washing machine purchased not rented and I also paid for their extended "customer care" (these's a laugh).
The machine broke down with a total motor failure 1 year into a 5 year warranty and after nearly 4 weeks I have nothing.
Every call results in more lies and stories. Apparently getting a spare part from Sydney on a truck takes 10 days!! I could walk there quicker than that. Even after 10 days its still not here.
Promises for return calls never happen, visiting the Modbury store gets more stories and no action. What a waste of a grand.
I would advise everyone to save their hard earned money and go elsewhere.
Beware Radio Rentals!!
PLEASE, I'm urging all prospective Radio Rentals customers to consider what they are getting themselves into.
We have been paying off a $700 lounge suite for nearly five years, & could easily have purchased ten more with the amount of money we have lost due this conniving company.
We have three children, one severely disabled, & are now drowning in debt over a $60 a week payment agreement turned into double, then triple this within two years of our contract.
Every time we were late, we'd be charged what seemed an absurd amount of money in ad...
I have been with radio rentals for 35 years and have always paid up when due, in the last two years we have gone through financial hardship, what this company have put us through is terrible. They have blackmailed, threatened us and we were struggling where we only had $80 for food for the fortnight and they still wanted their money and they didn't care about that. We tried so much to please them. I will be so glad when our items are paid off, so we don't have to be in their stupid contracts anymore.

There were fees added to her account as she does not use direct debit. She paid it on time and you still did this to her. The reason she stopped paying for 5 months was due to the high stress the you put her though. After the experience she had with you she will never step into another radio rentals store again as she is disgusted with your company and level of customer service. And she will not recommend radio rentals to any of her friends or family. Over all my review is 0/10 this is based on her treatment she received from you.
Misleading Delivery Time
Purchased a microwave from the Murray bridge store 9/10/15 told in stock in warehouse be in store by the 12th. Hadn't heard by the 15 so rang told it was on the truck. My wife missed the closing time by 1 minute so didn't get to pick it up. Tried to pick it up on the 20th only to be told there is none in stock and we would just have to wait. I rang to clarify what happened to the one I was told was there for me to pickup and was rudely told that it was mixed up with someone else's order and I would just have to wait. I live 100 km from the store so find it very frustrating. No apology was given. I had paid for the microwave upfront. Not impressed!
I HATE RADIO RENTALS.
Interest free?!?! Pfft I got into a contract with a phone that was $900 & it was a 12 month contract. Now been paying it 20 months & have paid OVER $1400!!!!! Also I had a TECHNICAL problem with the phone that had happened through no fault of my own, they wanted to charge me $300 to fix it, after telling me they will fix the technical faults free of charge under warranty!! I am FUMING! Especially being a single mother!
The downside of renting electronics
I have a Lap Top rented from Radio Rentals. I live in the country and their service is so bad that I have given up on them. For technical help they use Doctor PC. When I had trouble with the unit it went to Doctor PC who did a terrible job that I spent several days putting it right myself. I will never use Radio Rentals again and refuse to send work to Doctor PC the most incompetent technicians I have ever used. I advise people not to rent from these Radio Rentals for they are too expensive, poor customer service and technical service.
time for some one to asses there charges like they did for banks
i think the gov or someone needs to look into there fees and crap we have had a fridge been paing for it for whats seems for ever rang them to ask how long is left they said 3 mnths but then after three months apparently i still owe them 329 dollars for some crap... radio rentals need to be assesed and make them stop robbing people... never again would i deal with these people and anyone who says they are i will talk out of it.. have convinced 7 people already so have started my mission against these thieving people
I have had a rental laptop since December 2013. I got it for my son for yr 12 & was after something reliable. The screen kept flickering any time it moved, then showing white lines which would last for minutes to hours. Took it in for service & they helpfully replaced the charger. Same issues continued & took it in to a different store. Young bloke knew what he was talking about & agreed it looked like a ribbon cable fault. Stated specifically that ribbon cable needed attention on the service log. Weeks later we had the laptop returned, with a ...note saying they had changed the screen. Same problems have continued. I questioned the sales girl at the time asking if the ribbon cable had been looked at. She said they only commented that it had a nice new screen. Fabulous! The screen was never the issue. The white lines showing up were crystal clear. This laptop has worked for 6 months at most over the time we've had it. Service dept have been useless. "bring it in & we'll have a look". No! At this point I want the item exchanged for one that works! I have paid every month, they gave me a refund on 3 weeks for the 1st time it was in being serviced. I asked the last woman on the phone if I could speak to her supervisor & was told no. My only option was to take it back in & I could email her supervisor if I wished to take it further. I am sick of the run around, and the appalling lack of service.
Decieving pack of animals!
Was given the impression that good would be mine after 18months but boy was I wrong! After paying 1 1/2times what my item is wort they now want another $600+ for something that's near 2 years old & I can buy the same product new cheaper.. Was not told that items wouldn't be mine & as I could not read (until I recently got my glasses) didn't know. Although te store seems the think they told me which is hog wash. The item I got is the biggest heap of junk going. Also no1 has signed the contract so does that make it void & null!! Anyhow they can jam all their lies because it's being sent back as I have a terminal illness & can't afford to pay all that extra for something I've already paid for one & a half times over.. BEWARE PEOPLE!

Please do not rent with this company. You are signing yourself into a contract which will cause you to pay triple the retail price over the term of your contract. Want to get out of said contract? You need to buy the items anyway or face (possibly) thousands of dollars in cancellation fees. If you think your monthly payments are making a dent in your overall amount owing, you'd be wrong. I've been a customer for 2 years and have since paid off approximately $5 of each item I've rented. What's the point? Also, your monthly amount does not decrea...se over time. It does not get easier. The money I've spent in monthly fees could have paid all of those items off by now, and then much more. If you move, you're screwed. If you lose your job, you're screwed. If you miss any payments, you're screwed. It's an extra $40 in late fees. If you miss it twice, they will reposes the goods, and send you a bill for the retail price of each item anyway! If you are desperate enough and actually sell the goods without first purchasing them, they will take you to court over it without giving you a chance to just buy the items. If your contract term is up, you still have to buy the items to be free of your monthly payment. Don't freaking rent from them! It's a financial trap. If you rent items worth $5000 all up, you'll pay $15000 for them. I promise you it's not worth it. Find cheap second hand items off gumtree because you don't want to have to declare bankruptcy if something goes wrong with your finances. Please heed my warning. The staff only genuinely care about their sales performance. So expensive and so not worth it.
Wanted a xrental washing machine..to pay cash..they wouldn't accept it..said cannot hold item for me for more than a week..even though I said I was moving house in 3 weeks ..we couldn't take it with us as we had already packed our van waiting on ssettlement to pick up key to new home..on my gold card was the same options ..never had a prob before ..over last 4 years I have set up my home with radio rentals appliances ..been a customer over 40 years ..I'll not shop in radio rentals now ...long time customer ...no more ...
Radio Rentals - Do not get anything with them!
Have been a customer for 5 years always in credit. Added a washing machine to the account. Came home one day and a debt collectors notice on my front door! No bill nothing just a 'repossession notice' I was furious - called so many times, emailed, sent f/b just for a balance or invoice. Came home - another notice saying they were going to call the cops to say ive stolen the goods!! SMS the debt collector - he was actually alright - so logged complaint with ACCC after a month they told me have to go to South Australian Office of Consumer and Bus...iness Services. Called them they said if its in my contract - too bad! I couldnt believe it - now finally got a bill - and the whole thing is ridiculous overdue fees and collection and debt collector fees - am really upset - lady at consumer and business services told me to call 1800007007 national financial counselling - debt negotiation. I am excellent at managing my finances i might add - all bills in credit. They treat their loyal customers like rubbish. Couldn't be a worse service out there - and no ombudsman - or proper complaints service. Tonight i am going to inspect my contract - really frustrating situation!
Never Buy from Radio Rentals..!!
Having first bought a laptop and TV from Radio Rentals about 3 - 4 years ago thinking it was a good service and similar to other "rent to own companies" - later I went and upgraded my laptop as the first was having issues with it's power supply - while there it was decided by my partner and I that we should get rid of a lot of our old household white goods and upgrade with Radio Rentals - all on rental - this was the biggest mistake EVER! The washing machine had issues within the first month (I know other people who have bought the EXACT same w...ashing machine and not had any problems - they didn't buy from Radio Rentals..!!) the upgraded laptop had power supply issues and screen problems within 6 months, the printer had issues within 3 months, the microwave was paid out and stopped working 4 months after paying it out, the lawnmower stopped working properly within 6 months. Out of the 7 -8 products bought from Radio Rentals - only the TV and fridge haven't had any problems. The first laptop was supposed to be a 2 year contract - when I asked about buying it out of the rental contract they said it was a 3 year contract and it was going to cost more than the laptop was currently being retailed for! Bottom line is this: Their products really seem like they have been manufactured to break down to force customers to upgrade..!! They will not beat any price..!! Their customer service is very bad..!!

I personally have not had a terrible experience purchasing from Radio Rentals. Bought an Xbox 360 some time ago, with which they threw in extra games, and I ended up getting a deal that was literally double my money worth in comparison to anywhere else.

I have recently purchased a TV and Surround Sound combo for quite a substantial price ($3500!). It will be very interesting to see exactly how the delivery goes, considering my service when buying the TV was fantastic. Didn't think I would get much attention walking in we...aring a Metallica shirt, but none-the-less, had a wonderful salesman assisting me with my purchase within the first 5 minutes of solid browsing! I must say, their customer service has improved quite a great deal in the recent years (although my only nark was with one particular gentleman). Good service, quick and easy. Not many, rude and extremely pushy service on occasion (experienced by my father, not buy me)
Purchaced a Simpson washing machine 3/10/12 from a country area radio rentals.Late jan 20013 noticed it making strange noises, so called the store and arranged to have a service man look at it. he said the drive shaft had gone and it would have to go to work shop. There starts my dilemer. Mch was picked up on 7/2/13 got a letter from radio rentals group on 12/2/13 to say they have my mch and they need to order the parts . So silly me i think ok this mch is only four to five mths old , its a simpson , so that shouldnt take to long. Oh silly me!!...!! After numerous unsuccesful phone calls to find out what is taking so long, either no answer or still waiting for part , I have just got off the phone with this so called sevice company having been told the part they are waiting for STILL is not here. You have got to be joking!!!!! By the way I own this mch , payed for it in full in oct when I picked a brand new Aus made washing machine. Where the hell are you guys getting your parts from. This is crazy ! So up to today you guys have had my mch 6 weeks. I dont know how that can be called good service, better still I would so NO service at all. While this has been going on not once has any one offered me any explanation as to why its taking so long. No one has offered me a replacement mch or anything for the countless number of visits to the laundry mat. Needless to say I will never purchase anything from radio rentals again. I have decided that i will be asking for my money back, why would I want a mch that you cant get parts for? very bad service
Poor customer service
We rent several items and up to now have had great service, Our lap top went in for repairs and we were told it had "brown liquid in it" i have no idea how that could happen but i took their word for it and paid out the computer as it was the cheaper option, I have since had it looked at and guess what no brown liquid. The service lady was rude and when i told her there was no liquid in there. I said i will show her and she said well you could have had it cleaned out and how do we know you are not lying. I said well you lot lot told me there wa...s liquid in there. i now have a useless computer at home and am considering handing everything back to them. this is the worst customer service i have ever received in my life and after 20 years of renting several items from them they are rude and nasty. the service lady needs to be removed from her job and the company needs to re thing how they deal with customer repairs Up to now i have had great treatment from you this has ruined it for me now Poor customer service.

We have been renting through radio rentals for almost a year now. We rent a full house full of things. Our washing machine has decided to crap out. It will do half the job but then wont go any further to spin out or drain our washing. We canont even open the washing machine as it has a lock on it. We are renting our furniture through them on a 48 month contract and as we are still renting should they be the one to fix and repair this since we are still paying them every week? HEEEEEEELP!!!!
