I would recommend RAMS to everyone! The customer service is always really friendly and professional, I spoke to a lady named Deanne on the phone and she was absolutely lovely and took care of every Enquire we had :) Also my fiancé and I have been taken care of with financial difficulties due to Covid which was nice :}
Worst experience of my life
Worst experience of my life. Because I don’t have Netflix or internet in on my home (which is due to the hours I work), I most live below the poverty line and must be lying as no one lives like this. Even the manager was shocking. Got the loan at a better rate with someone else
empty promises. no customer service. high fees.
I currently have a home loan with you. Each time I’ve contact customer service I’ve had a horrible experience.
The very first time was when I got a message to say that my direct debit of $50 for the construction loan was overdue. I called to rectify this straight away as I am never late in any of my bills. When I called the call centre I spoke with this very rude and abrupt lady, she implied that I was crazy as “RAMS don’t do direct debit as it is illegal” she would not let me speak, shut me down each time I said my previous construction prog...ress payments were being direct debited. She got frustrated with me and said she will transfer me to someone else. This was very stressful for me, being my first home loan I really didn’t want to get on a bad start. I finally got through to another RAMS representative and I had to start the call like new. Full ID check, had to relay what my enquire was and what happened in the last call. This lady was nice and very helpful, unfortunately the first person I spoke with didn’t leave any notes so the second representative was unsure what she was talking about. She explained to me that direct debit is normal, the only reason I got the message was due to the public holiday and it will get processed following business day -nothing to worry about. The second time I called was to discuss what to do when my construction loan is completed. I called the call centre. They said they weren’t too sure but to call the person that set up my home loan account. Once I advised that they are no longer open she then referred me to the closest RAMS office to enquire. I believe it was RAMS Mooloolaba, I spoke to a lady that was extremely rude. I wish that call was recorded and she was extremely condescending, she would not answer my questions and told me to call the call centre. When I asked her if I could get the valuation that my house was valued at she said that RAMS don’t do a proper evaluation, someone only goes out to make sure the house is completed after the build. This I found annoying as when I first signed up with you, [name removed] was my loan advisor, he said that we would get a valuation of the home once completed. So am feeling deceived as now I need to pay to have one completed. Then I called to simply request my bank details be updated as I simply changed banks. I thought I could do this over the phone like any other company. But no, I I was sent a form to complete. I completed and emailed the form back, only to receive it back again to say it was missing information. I had to print the whole form again since the last one was chucked in the bin. I don’t hear anything. I tried calling, long wait in the queue, couldn’t get through. Then get an email to say to call RAMS. The call centre isn’t exactly to get a hold of. But I tried, couldn’t get through. Now to my most recent events with RAMS. The end of my construction loan. I received a letter to call RAMS to get my change over fee waived. Great. Called through, no you can’t change until a week before the 1st of April 2020. Alright, Called a couple of days before then, spoke to a gentleman, didn’t catch his name, he said good news we can waive all fees and you can get an interest rate of 2.79% without any prompting. I thought this was great as I was considering refinancing for a similar interest rate. I also wanting to change my monthly payments to weekly or fortnightly as that works better for us. He said I was entitled to all these changes. But he can’t do anything until the 1st of April 2020.
Unconscionable and exploitative lender.
The ruthless franchise model of RAMS branches is not compatible with customer-focused solutions. Complaints to the escalated team are routinely ignored. Emails to RAMS are ignored. Our dealings with RAMS South East have been nothing short of a shambles. We have observed 4 separate staff members who have departed (as evidenced by automatic email replies advising of their departure) which makes communication all the more difficult. We were assured in writing when we applied for the loan that after 3 consecutive years of clear repayment history, w...e would revert to full doc and obtain an interest rate reduction of 1% less (we are currently obtaining an exploitative rate of 4.26%). However we understand based on a conversation with customer service that RAMS has reneged on this policy. I understand RAMS will soon be rebranded as Westpac. The sooner that happens, the better.
Lack of customer service!
Recently I had really bad experience with this company. I am their long term customer. Their customer service team is lack of responsibility nowadays. They are Not helpful even I have submitted an URGENT request. They are trying to delay my HL request and keep the high interest rate! Find another home loan lender if you can. Stay away from RAMS!
Hidden costs and average service
You will pay a yearly fee for the remainder of the loan and that on top of the interest charged by westpack, better deals out there dont be fooled by the sheep
Worst service and hidden costs!
Rams have hidden solicitor costs when you try to refinance from them, because they have high interest rates of course. The solicitor costs are $1000-$2000 BUT they don't tell you how much when you sign up. In the contract/fees and charges schedule, it just says exit fee 295 and any legal fees. [Name Removed] is one of the loan managers and avoid her! She is a manipulative and dishonest sales person!
Absolutely terrible service at Parramatta
Went in around December last year (December 2018) and the James took so long just to submit my application to head office claiming he was busy. They are a franchise and can not see what is happening at head office.
The settlement was around Feb and was hoping this would happen before Christmas closure but he had sat with my file for around 3 weeks. Cancelled my application and went with different lender. The other lender was so much better and efficient.
Can get the loan but systems and customer service are terrible. Avoid!
RAMS approved homeloan. It was at a bad time so I waited around 4months before getting an answer (first home buyers was ending so there were alot of applications at once). Since having my homeloan I have discovered that RAMS systems are absolutely terrible. Account balances and available credit shown within accounts is always incorrect. This is extremely unreliable and you therefore cannot actually use your bank as you SHOULD be able to! This has resulted in payments that have not gone through, affected my credit score etc. Staff give inconsist...ent responses to problems, IF they can provide any accurate response at all. I have had nothing but trouble with RAMS since my homeloan was established. I cannot wait to leave the company. My advice: avoid at all costs. The stress isn't worth it.
Horrible Customer Service - Consumer be aware
I agree with you [name removed], RAMS Home Loan service is absolute disgrace. I first enquired about the break cost in March. By July, they doubled break cost amount and by the time I had settlement and sold my place, their break fee cost was triple of what RAMS quoted in March. I based my decision to sell based on the quote provided. Contacted the customer service and they couldn't even provide whole sales interest rate. I will never use RAMS again and I do not recommend anyone to use RAMS. I will take this matter to the ombudsman.

I offer my full recommendation to Rams at Burleigh Waters. Lischelle Franzway and her team were AMAZING!!
*My customer service experience was the best, would not go anywhere else.
*i did not experience any extra costs or issues on this loan.
I am exceptionally happy with the rate of the loan rate I received.
Excellent service !!
I have such a good experience with Rams. I highly recommend Rams to anyone looking for a home loan. I would like to thanks 'Dorene Statham' (home loan manger at Rams st george area) who went above and beyond with my loan application procedure.
Absolutely incompetent and useless. Not worth the extreme stress.
It took 6 weeks for them to get back to us with unconditonal approval. At that point we didn't even care about the outcome we just wanted to know what was happening and were sick of constantly follow it up and being told we'd know by the end of the week etc. and then receiving no response at all. I get that delays can happen but at least let us know.
When we finally got our contracts to sign we were told the rate was wrong but to ignore it. In hindsight we shouldn't have signed but we had been waiting so long for approval we did. We were told ...we'd receive an amended copy with the correct rate and a month later we still haven't despite me following up multiple times. We have now been waiting for settlement to go through for over 4 weeks. I have a house construction that has been started and now has 3 invoices unpaid. Settlement has been booked in 3 times now and rejected because our home loan manager is incompetent and keeps making mistakes on the paperwork, not having the correct papers done etc. Again, there's been no communication on this. I've only found out what's going on by following it up myself when I notice it hasn't settled. I've tried to call RAMS for help. They told me I have to deal with my home loan manager until it settles and then it becomes their problem, but obviously they are the person who isn't doing their job and settlement isn't happening because of them. When I pushed to make a complaint RAMS told me I could leave a voice message about it and it would be taken up with the principal. When I tried to leave a message it said the inbox was full! ... I'm assuming full of complaints from other poor souls like us.
Great Experience Highly Recommend Troy!
It has been just over around 8months of dealing with Troy from the Mount Barker branch and I can honestly say that even though being a lengthy process (not on their behalf) it has been a great experience and I don’t think I could have trusted anyone else in helping us to get our first home loan.
Troy was helpful in every way and never made us feel like we were not wanted. He had great communication with us and I felt like we were being taken care of the whole time. I would highly him recommend to anyone!
Thanks again Troy for all of your help :)
Amazing Experience on Buying Our First Home
I found RAMS online 2 years ago and from the day I called them until we moved in to our new home, Jim from RAMS was the best support and knowledge that made the whole experience less scarier. We were never left to feel as we didn't matter. Even the smallest details were taken care for us. Jim spoke to us with the truth and helped as get approved for our loan fast and within our budget. Highly recommend !
Fantastic service and down to earth
Matt was so much help. My first home and first discussions around finance for it, he helped me collate information and armed me with questions to ask and things I should be aware of (even when I said I would be shopping around at other place)... at no point did I feel like I was dealing with a salesman.
Questions & Answers
When I try to move/transfer money online from my account for three days I have the message "We weren't able to load this page. Refresh". Is this happening to me only? or is this a Rams online problem?
Do you do landlord insurance in HOme Hill 4806
Why does RAMS take 24 to 48 hours to send out a statement? My bank Commonwealth does it immediatly. RAMS wants me to save with them but cannot act like a savings bank.
