Great Alternative As External Laptop Keyboard/Mouse Combo
I was looking for a multi-device keyboard/mouse combo to use on my laptop/notepad and maybe the NAS server when required. I've also become accustomed to my laptop keyboard layout. So what I wanted was something with similar small keystrokes, layout, small footprint and had to be both USB and Bluetooth compatible. This one ticks all the right boxed.
The unit is priced well and not expensive all all. I love the keyboard layout and it's easy keystrokes. It's also VERY slim and the board itself has a weight to it and doesn't seem to move around on...the desk as I would have expected from a small unit. The mouse I'm not so much of a fan of, but as a backup wouldn't hurt as long as I wasn't using it all day. It runs off 2xAAA batteries for the keyboard. You can program the keyboard up to 4 devices using the function keys (3x bluetooth, 1x 2.4GHz). Installation is quite simple. Windows will install it using default drivers. If you go to the Rapoo website, you can download their own drivers and install for some extra functionality (recommended). In use, the keyboard works just like my laptop. The keystrokes are easy and very quite. The mouse works, but I'm a fan of larger mouses because of my hand size. I had to return the first unit as it was a couple of keystrokes behind when typing and was annoying. I checked the supplied batteries and they were good. The second unit is working flawlessly. All in all while I do like it, however it got delegated to a secondary keyboard for the NAS and using on bluetooth devices (phone, notepad) as it doesn't have caps or numlock lights. Being that it's compact, I can store it out of the way when not in use easily.
