Bad customer service
They claim they have a good return policy but in fact they will have a lot of excuses to decline return of your faulty item. Will never buy from them again.

I ordered a tent online and paid for a courier to delivery... Will never buy online again, as of the 11th it has gone missing and no one can tell me where it is... Also unless you have all day don't bother ringing the customer service number, waiting over 20 mins for a person to answer every time I rang.... Bad Service
a month already but no delivery yet
BADDDDDD. don't buy online, it takes forever to get it. It is already a month but no item yet. Bought things from China will even be faster to reach here. What is even worse, there is no update.
Terrible customer service - both in store and online
After going into Rays Cannington to purchase an item that I had seen on their website I was rudely told that I needed to supply the PLU number for them to find it on their system. I left the store as they refused to help me look for the item in store. I ordered the in-stock item online which was an easy enough process but then found myself waiting three weeks for courier delivery! My emailed enquiries were ignored and I was not once contacted in regards to the delays.
Will shop elsewhere in future. Terrible service.
Bad Customer Service!
After waiting 2.5 days for a reply to my online order/pick up at Rays Maribyrnong, I called the store today and spoke to Amy. She was rude, unhelpful and made so many excuses. She said that she "tried to call my mobile number but it was invalid" yet she had my email but didn't try to get in contact with me using this secondary method - she basically gave up and thought someone else would "deal with it".
I then tried to ask her why she didn't think to email me after not being able to reach me via mobile and she said again that she figured some...
It's been a month and no one seems to know what's going on with my order
Ordered some items on the 16th March. Was told that the nominated store did not have it in stock and they will instead get it delivered to me. Nearly a month has passed and I decided to check on my order and the only answer I got was we don't know what happened to your order.
The notes also stated to deliver the goods to me but no one seems to care about their customers that they just thought we will leave the order open on the system.
Never again rays! Get my order to me so we can move on!
Customer Service non existent
My son purchased gift cards for us & 2 sisters as presents for Christmas ($400 total). Went to use on Boxing day sales, could not get any discount. It appears by supporting the store & using gift cards, recipients are to pay full price for goods. Sent a message of complaint to their on line customer service to receive a very bland reply about how we had helped them give better service in the future ([censored word removed]). Will use cards and not go back, Anaconda have a much more varied range. Cash supplied 2 days before Christmas (in exchange for cards) is not as good as cash supplied as a present to be used wherever you like. Company policy does not encourage return business.

I went in intendting buy pair boots for work woth around $200 at Warrnambool Store
was gibing the footware area good look over 15 mins pass not a single employee offered help .
I walk around store attempting to arouse a staff member to offer help but nope no offer of help so i will not be buying at rays. Oh well i will just go shop online then

This afternoon I visited the Warrnambool store to get information for a friend. The assistant showed me to the items and provided advice about the various models. I asked if the had brochures and at the counter the cashier downloaded and printed the material. A joy to visit the store.
Knowledge and helpful cheerful staff
I was in Maribyrnong Ray's store buying an item, the item had no price tag on it, I took it to the counter and ask for a price check, the girl at the register could not help so she told me to go and ask the person at the back, I took the item and went to the back of the store and I saw a lady was doing something in the store room, I assumed that sher was the person I was looking for I took just one step into the store room and imediately she shouted at me with a loud voice and told me to get out of the store room.
I was so shocked and try t...o expalain but before I can utter the second word out of my mouth, I was shouted at and was told to get out again. It was one of the most humiliating moment happened to me in my whole life. I was in their store asking for help, I should not be treated the way I was treated. I made a complain to the manager and asked to remove/delete my membership with them. He called me back and offered me a twenty dollars gift card but I told him no. I have never set foot to their stores again since. Extremely rude
Rays Outdoors Camperdown Store. Very rude management.
I took back two rubbish chairs that did not last 3months of very limited under cover use. As a VIP member I was informed all my transaction details were kept on their system so it was odd when I started getting attitude when I did not produce an invoice for the chairsand did not stop. After informing the manager they were not left outdoors I feel was treated as if I had been lying as he still felt the need to inform me three times that they should not be left outside. I then asked if several items I wanted to buy were available, they either did...not stock them or they were out of stock, no problem there but I feel the manager got tired of me trying to spend my money (!) and pointed to a section and suggested I go have a look myself for an item he had no idea whether they stocked or not. Unbelievable! In the past I have cancelled orders of work clothes after waiting 6 months for them to arrive. Although promised, no contact was ever made to keep me up to date and when I contact them no one knew anything. I was frustrated by this but persisted with this store. After todays experience I will now drive the extra distance and buy from Anaconda which is better stocked, has better quality equipment and the staff are helpful and polite. Strangely rude service
Worst online shopping experience ever
Nearly three weeks after ordering some hiking boots (advertised as in stock and available), and paying extra for express delivery ... and still no sign of them.
Numerous calls to their so called Customer Care Centre produce frustration, contradictory excuses, promises ... but no results! Promises to call me back are not met.
Where do I go from here?
Update: After posting this I have finally been contacted by Rays Outdoors. Goods now received but wrong size! Happily staff at Monah were very helpful in effecting an exchange. Happy ending - eventually.
My advice is to avoid their online store!
Completely incompetent, no commitment to customer service.
Ray's Outdoors indoors success
We shopped at Ray's Outdoor the other day and found them fabulous. We went in to buy some fishing gear and walked out with a whole lot os stuff. Great variety of fishing, camping and clothes.
It's not a big shop but the service and peole were helpful and gave me all I needed.
So much choice, great quality.

Where do i start. Ok so i was out at penrith and me and my brother dropped in next door to rays outdoors. Everytime we go to this store it is always the same stuff just piled up everywhere big piles of products mixed in with rubbish isles completly blocked up with junk and not a staff member in sight .
i have dropped in and out of this store for about 4 years and it has always looked the same on my last visit it was worse than ever it looked like one of those hoarders houses they have recently put up a sign saying exuse the mess we are mo...ving stock but yet one look around the store and not one staff moving or cleaning anything let alone serving enyone when finally a young male staff member walked through the store ( pretending not to notice us or the mess ) we called his attention he said with all the attidude in the world " what you want " my brother said you should actually clean this store up. His response was " yeah love ya to sweetheart" after looking at him in shock for a few seconds we asked him what his problem was het told us that we can go shop somewhere else if we dont like there store. extremly messy, no service, and the rudest staff ever
