Takes no responsibility for quality of inspection.
Paid for inspection, they missed more than one major damage to interior of car, and when contacted suggested that I could have done that damage, which is ridiculous. Inferior inspection and non-existent customer service. Told me that I needed to inspect the car, wasn't that why I paid them?
Good honest service
I am selling a 20 yo vehicle and the buyer has organized an inspection by RedBook. The mechanic ( Damon ) was great : courteous, thorough with his checks as I would expect someone to do if I was buying a vehicle, realistic in his evaluation of the vehicle, a really good professional guy. Will use them next time I buy a car.
Great service, highly recommended.
Ordered an inspection for a car on Carsales.
Inspection was carried out promptly and detailed and informative report supplied.
Mechanic called me with a verbal evaluation, very professional and clearly addressed all my questions.
Communication with customer service was outstanding.
All up, an excellent service and highly recommended.

Not worth a penny
I had done a Redbook inspection before buying my used Kia Carnival from a dealer in Sydney on Friday 22 Nov, 2019. The inspector gave a nice report with lots of photos . I thought I had a peace of mind after getting the vehicle inspected through them. In my first drive just within a few days of the purchase the vehicle began emanating thick smoke and the vehicle engine heated up . There was a severe burning smell. I took it to the dealer and the dealer to my horror told me that the vehicle had a major engine fault. I wasted 270 AUD and got a f...alse assurance that the vehicle was "Mechanically ok" . To those buying used cars please be aware that you are taking a risk by going for a used car and going for this company inspection will give you no extra assurance or piece of mind . They just produce a nice report which might turn our completely false. I had a horrid time and faced a lot of embarrassment with the vehicle
What a fantastic service!
Redbook Inspect were thorough professionals right from the start. From booking the vehicle inspection & processing payment options, to the vehicle report, I was treated with respect professionalism, & a friendly attitude. It made me feel so much more at ease during the whole process of purchasing a used vehicle. I'll recommend Redbook Inspect to anyone I know who needs a car inspection prior to purchase anytime. Just excellent service.
Inspection on my car
Buyer text me later saying the inspector thinks the jeep has rust when clearly the inner area of fender area was painted black to keep rust away as I cut the fenders for my jeep wrangler. Also inspector thinks jeep has been painted underside when clearly I never touched it. Also inspector thinks their is few leaks doesn't mention what part .I have never seen any oil drops on the floor or even my mechanic mention about any leaks . I lost a sale when the jeep has been maintained with all the services done by logbook. Inspector told we will go for a ride later when I checked outside he took the jeep by himself for a drive without even telling me. What a joke and unprofessional thing to do.
Wonderful customer service
Found the staff (there were 2 male staff on duty) to be very professional and caring - they attended to me immediately and even offered to change a tail light - found both staff members to be very friendly.
I would not hesitate in recommending the business to my family and friends

Dodgy company, Rude customer service, Avoid at all cost
They instruct their Inspectors to cover up faults if you buying from dealerships!
All they do is just taking photos without inspecting components.
One tyre had a deep cut and still wasn't mentioned in their report.
Reliable car review
Very helpful review and really hard working inspector. My inspector Tony sent me the report on Sunday night from his email due to the redbook system was laggy. This is the first time of using RedBook inspection and I was quite impressed that online services nowadays are so convenient and reliable.
The reviewer stated that an incentive was offered for this review
My sons first car review
Found the report very comprehensive, good value and gives the vehicles basic condition. This gave me the opportunity to then approached the seller and negotiate the purchase price taking in to condition the mechanical report.I just wanted to be reassured that the vehicle was roadworthy and safe to drive for my young bloke and not cost him a fortune to repair down the track.
They have no idea
Had an inspection done on a concours condition show car which has only done a few thousand kms since total rebuild and they rated it down with stupid comments like "normal wear evident for it's age" when the components are virtually brand new. The interior is absolutely immaculate but they say "interior trims, carpet and roof lining showing general wear including scuffs, marks, minor stains and tears consistent with the age and mileage". WTH! the interior is like it just rolled off the production line and has won many Concours awards for being ...so. Says the "air cond is cool but not cold, might require service". It just had a service with a new compressor installed and is working perfectly. Seriously, this is a 40 year old British classic not a Mazda CX5. What was this moron expecting? And it goes on and on. I am sorry but this organization is a money grabbing risk adverse business with no care for what they say. If fact, they don't really say anything. It's all cut and paste out of a template to pump out a 46 page document to look like you're getting value when in fact they are diddling the buyer and the seller. I'm sure it comes down to the individual inspector but I would stay away from [name removed] in Brisbane.
Misses the big ticket items
The inspection was timely, the reporting fast and the inspector was a nice guy willing to spend time chatting. Cosmetic issues were identified. BUT don't expect this report to identify any big ticket items. They explicitly state that they don't evaluate the condition of the engine / transmission / clutch etc. The thrust bearing failed on the vehicle I had inspected 1500kms after purchase so I was up for $1575 in repairs within the first month. When I raised this with Redbook their response was to check their fine print. I will not use thi...s service again and find a mechanic that specializes in the vehicle that I'm purchasing. That will give me a fighting chance to identify the big ticket items prior to purchase. I'd suggest people considering using Redbook and the like do the same and spend some time identifying cosmetic issues themselves.
