Dose the job
I bought a reid mtb pro disc for $359 on special as i live in darwin and not alot of options so i took a chance on it and i must say I made a mistake when it turned up looked good but rear wheel was broken and i will say the guy at reid was good and replaced it so thanks but few weeks later the pedals broke and i find the bike actually very uncomfortable to ride were I ride my mates trek and it feels comfortable also the crank were the pedals are attached is warped so you can never get the gears to smoothly change also the front folks don't rea...Read more
lly work can never adjust them right so either to soft or to hard and they just spring back any way like a pogo stick, the disc break pads were squeaky and the rear break doesn't even clamp hard enough no matter how.much i squeeze the break lever, the paint is already coming off so very disapointed in the quality of the bike no way you can go off road like it states but it dose have some good points like trektro disc breaks and solid frame. But friendly customer service guy ThankSimilar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au!

Good value bike. Damaged in delivery. Twice.
My Reid Xenon 29'er arrived with minor damage. Reid sent a replacement part. When Fastway Couriers delivered the new part it was also broken. Still a very good value bike.

Great Product. Service could be better.
I was looking to replace my aging dual suspension Mountain Bike. I posted on some MTB forums and was given a link to the Reid Solo 360 Hard Tail Mountain Bike.
I did some research on the Solo 360, the specification looked great, XT gear throughout and internally routed cables caught my attention. I have ridden quite a few bikes recently looking to see what was out there at my price point and this bike was high on the list.
So I decided to head down to Reid Cycles on the weekend arriving Saturday at about 11:30am. The place was busy … tha...Read more
t is a good sign and to be expected. It took some time but I was served by a friendly member of staff soon enough. I enquired about taking the 360 for a test ride, I was then advised by the staff member whether I could come back mid-next week as the demo solo bikes did not have pedals. When I advised the staff member I had come a long way and was looking to buy the bike today, the staff member obligingly had the pedals attached. I took the bike for a test ride and all went well except for a dropped chain which I put down to cable stretching. I liked the bike, it is exactly what I wanted. When I returned to the shop the staff member assisted me with the purchase after a reasonably lengthy wait. During the period I was trying to purchase the bike, the sales person proceeded to continue to serve and answer questions from other customers leaving me waiting. Had I not liked the Solo 360 as much as I did I would have at that stage simply walked out. However I was committed. I found this whole experience really odd, I have not experienced this type of customer service for some time. Maybe I am used to service by big bike companies like Trek who take great care to make such a significant purchase such a positive experience. I appreciate the shop is busy, it was clear the shop was understaffed and the sales person was doing his best. However when a customer’s turn comes around the customer is deserving of the sales staff member’s full attention. So I paid the full price and because I had no racks on the car I asked them to store the bike overnight. The next day my wife went to pick the bike up as I was unable to do so. My wife asked the sales staff member if the bike was brand new and not a floor/demo model to which the sales person stated yes it was new and not ridden previously. My wife is very astute and proceeded to take the time to inspect the bike, after all this was not a small purchase for us, while the bike was good value for its price, it was by no means cheap. My wife soon found a bunch of scratches and minor damage to the bike, it was at this stage that the sales person admitted that maybe a few people had indeed ridden the bike to demo it. The sales person then sourced my wife a new bike.1 comment

How can the shop staff not know about Special Deals?
Hi,
I bought my Vintage Ladies 7 speed Lite on Sep 24, 2015 from Adelaide shop. As the email from Reid, I was noticed that I would receive Free Deluxe Basket and Liner when buying 7 speed Lite.
But the staff did not know about that and asked me to show where I knew that info. Then I showed the email and they gave me free basket and liner, but when I came back home, I found that the one I got was not Deluxe basket, just the Standard one. I like "big structure" of the style of Deluxe basket (the same Big of 2 rings around the basket) but wh...Read more

Good bike but don't order online
The bike arrived quick but it also arrived with a dent and random scratches all over it, the gear mechanism was faulty too, like it had been bent in transit. I emailed them back and forth but their responses were useless. In the end I took it to a professional to get it fixed and he agreed it wasn't a problem with the way it was put together but it had been damaged. I'm just really disapointed in the responses I got from Reid. Won't recommend! !

Very poor service, good value otherwise
I was stuffed around for over 3 months by staff whose only understanding of supply logistics was "ummm, maybe a week or two".
I had to pay extra for a different model as I gave up on waiting and didn't receive all of the included extras despite returning to the store multiple times.
The bike appeared to be set up by a monkey (derailleurs would throw the chain, shifters weren't straight, brakes hit the tyres and some).
Despite all of this, I would still buy from them as they are CHEAP.
If you want to pay extra and get good service, g...Read more

Could of been better service but more than happy with my bike.
I'd been in the market for a new bike for a while and didn't want to spend a fortune on one, also didn't want to buy a cheap department store bike.
Someone on ozbargain.com.au recommended reidcycles as a cheap and cheerful alternative to the expensive local bike shops.
A lot of more experienced bike owners dissed reid bikes as being a cheap throwaway bike that you just replaced every 12 months instead of getting it serviced etc. but they did agree that they were marginally better than the sort of bikes you pick up from kmart, target and bi...Read more

Expected worse from all of the reviews
I went into Melbourne store on Monday Dec 23 to get a MTB for myself and was surprised at how quickly I was served and then the bike was ready to take away within 25 minutes. I arrived shortly after opening time and were at least 15 customers at this time. Big letdown was that the website offered $100 free accessories with the bike and this was not mentioned at time of buying the bike. I saw it on the website that afternoon. Now on Dec 29, new pricing discounts are on the site and the $100 offer is gone. I have emailed the store twice as is a 3...Read more
0 minute drive to go there so wanted to make sure I would get served ( again, based on the other comments on this site) and have had no response. Pretty shoddy service not following up. I certainly hope that the company read these reviews as they don't seem to read the emails sent to them. Ruins what could have been a truly positive only posting and customer experience. Quick customer service 2 days before Christmas, but I knew what I wanted before I arrived. Poor follow up, do they read the emails to the stores? Certainly dont respond!2 comments

Terrible service, average product
As a first time bike owner, I was very excited to receive my vintage ladies bike from Reid Bicycles however I cannot say that this experience has been a good one. Firstly, their service was rushed and quite frankly arrogant. Perhaps it is hard for them to believe but I have never owned a bike before and am not exactly sure what I'm looking for. I chose the vintage ladies bike because it looked cool and came in a great range of colours but beyond that, I have very little kind words to say. Firstly, the staff insulted my colour choice, then when ...Read more
I was handing over my credit card they made me feel stupid for not knowing that I had to purchase lubricant and apply it to the chain every two weeks. When I went back to collect the bike two weeks later, they didn't offer to check the seat height, make sure my helmet fit appropriately or ask if I had any questions. In fact the staff made me feel stupid for any question that I asked and were very condescending. The first time I rode the bike the chain came off. Three times in 100m to be exact. I had to walk the bike back home and since it doesn't fit in my car, I cannot even take it back to the rude staff to ask them to fix it. This has been an infuriating experience and worse still, I know that it is not over as I will have to deal with them again when I can eventually take it back to be fixed. Not a happy customer. Ok bikes
We bought two bikes from reid cycles sydney almost a month ago. I got the griffin with gears plus a back pannier and my partner got the vintage ladies bike with gears plus extras. They assembled this for us.
Mostly happy with the product but unhappy with the assembly and service. We called up reid cycles Sydney and told them the issues. They accepted no responsibility and told us we can't come in Thursday to Saturday as they are too busy (we can't come in any other time). They should post out to us the items they were it of stock, it's unre...Read more
asonable to expect customers to make multiple trips to their store to get what they paid for (I've driven there three times already) Too many problems to list but the ,aim ones are the gears were all unadjusted,(the first time riding it the chain got caught in the spokes, massive ordeal). The back pannier bags assembled on a 45 degree angle and the bags hot the back wheel. Seat fell off. Front handlebars not aligned properly. All the parts and products weren't ready ( I have yet to get our pumps, drink bottles etc I have pretty much taught myself to become a bike mechanic to tune the gears and reaffix everything properly. Be prepared to spend a lot of time In their shop or spend hours tweaking your bikes and you will need all the tools as well. I think we have got both bikes properly tuned, we went for a ride yesterday and had a great time! Value for money, design, lightweight men's bike Both bikes were put together very poorly.1 comment

Pretty bike, but seems a bit shoddy
I bought the ladies vintage bike single speed from Reid cycles about 6 weeks ago, and received it promptly. This bike is absolutely beautiful to look at and feels great to ride. You sit up tall, you sail along, I love it. I use this bike to ride the few k's to uni everyday and it works fine for that.
However, I think this really is a case of you get what you pay for. The bell broke the first time I used it - the plastic gears just sprang off. The bike is already showing spots of rust (I keep it undercover, though outdoors, and it does get wet...Read more

Hi HBadger,
Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us.... Read more
We're really proud of the Solo 360 so we're stoked to hear it met your expectations. I would say that this bike will serve you well for a long time to come. In regards to demo bikes, we don't have demo bikes due to the size of our range and the amount of stock we'd effectively have to write off as a result. We do operate very differently from some of the larger brands like Trek that have much larger margins in their sale prices to allow for demo bikes. Large costs also means less people through the doors which does allow for more time per customer. Having said that your experience is less than acceptable. We'll be speaking to our store team to ensure they're not trying to juggle too many people at once and to remind them that they should be serving people in turn. I'm happy to hear that a new bike was sourced for you given the superficial damage on the floor bike. I sincerely hope that the bike is bringing you a lot of good times. If you'd like to discuss things further, please don't hesitate to contact us. Kind regards, Matt
