Heavy yes expensive yes, well made yes, had for 6 years is as good as new
Yes very heavy, yes very expensive, yes very well made, had for 6 years, works as good as the day we bought it, BUT we knew what we were buying no surprises, just a very heavy duty, heavy very well made ladder.
Don't recommend if looking for light.

Great ladder with good functions & accessories BUT the promo video on tv, where the chic throws it in the back of the Ute. Yeah, not happening. I need a hand!

Still going strong ~10 years later
I got this ladder after I loaned my (straight extension) ladder to a friend and it came back months later rusted and in poor shape. (A lesson in that!)
It’s a great sturdy versatile ladder. It is a little bit harder to move and adjust than the TV ads, but I use it all the time and have no trouble carrying it up and down stairs and putting it in and out of the car and so on. I’ve never used the attachments, though I do have the poster that came with it stuck up in my shed so I guess I could work out how to use them if I wanted to.

Read moreastic is the only non-sturdy element — it’s starting to break and chip off now — plastic is a bit thin and flimsy. But I’ve painted two houses, built garden arches and trellises and fruit and vegie garden frames, installed blinds, cleaned gutters and high windows, and endless other tasks, and it’s served me really well (as a DIYer). Finally, I noticed some comments on this page about women not being able to move it. I’m sure that’s the experience of those individuals — but as a woman in my 40s I have never found it too heavy. The way it folds up makes it way easier to move and carry than my old ladder which was probably a little bit lighter but long and unwieldy to move around (and wouldn’t fit in the car).Purchased in for $400.

Versatile, portable and durable but a bit heavy
I've owned this system of ladders for almost 12 years. I've used it for everything. Tree and shrub pruning, cleaning out gutters, accessing roofs, internal and external painting. Its very easy to set up so you can very safely work at heights. The ability to set the legs at different levels on uneven ground is fantastic. I used that function plenty of times. Excellent investment.
Although a little heavy to lift, the transforma ladder is fantastic. No damaging gutters, work platforms that are very comfortable to work from. The rungs could be a little wider. Very happy with this product.

This ladder is a sturdy and reliable asset to my profession. Easy to carry and fit into the Ute and simple to use ... especially for jobs with tricky angles, stairs and shuttering.

Great ladder, should have had one a long time ago.
Really great ladder, although quite heavy, it's really versatile. I have used it in a number of DIY situations from painting, to clading our carport ceiling. I had originally thought the the price was a bit steep but the value is in its usefulness.

A very strong , handy , and adaptable ladder,
I bought the larger transformer ladder for my work, i have had it now for approximately 1 and half years now, and yes it was more heavy than i expected, but i am not a large build and i can manage it on my own , though i do believe a woman would have difficulty with the weight, the ladder has been fantastic for all the different types of work that i do ,and all though when i bought the ladder i thought it was high in price, the ladder has paid for it self at least 10 times over, i no longer have to hire large step ladders or cart my extension ladder with me to reach ceiling heights and working on stairs is really good, compared to how i use to risk my life !

Bought this cheap and my hubby loves it!
Found this new and unused on Gumtree.. was too heavy for the lady who bought it. Just the ticket for my hubby but at 19kg I won't be carrying it anywhere! Stable and strong!

Strong, but too heavy for anyone with an injury like myself, or an average woman
I had been seeing the ads a fair bit, so one late night. I decided to make the call to find out how much it cost. Big mistake. The call centre claim they don't know, and will only take my details, so the sales staff will call me back.
I think the law must be changed, forcing such ads to show the full price and payment options in large enough font, and duration, so that everyone is informed prior to speaking to a pushy manipulative sales person. Read morey known how much it costs. I hummed and ahhhed, and the sales person was a master at manipulation. I nearly had a heart attack when I found out it was over ＄1100. They pushed the extras, and the free extras. One of which I didn't want, so they asked what other items from their list I wanted. They must be over stocked. They also pushed the money back guarantee if I returned it within 30 days. Yeah right, how many people could be bothered repackaging it all in the boxes, especially considering they only fit one way, otherwise they won't fit. The cost to return would have been astronomical, which is another reason why many won't return them. I have a mate with a courier van, and he said he'd return them for me, but we couldn't get them back in the boxes, and I was too lazy. Overall, the ladder and accessories aren't too bad, and seem pretty strong. I doubt very much that the ladder could handle the weight of a car, let alone a 4x4. My biggest complaint is that everything is so heavy. Silly me paid the extra for the expendable platform. It's a decent size, but is so heavy that with my back injury I can't lift it. My Wife who is strong can't lift it either, she can't even lift one end without straining herself, and she will come home from shopping, and carry a 30 can box of coke in one hand, ten bags in the other, and a 10kg bag of kitty litter under her arm. First Experience With Transforma
I am a retired 66 yo 6ft male with limited strength who has just fallen off a conventional lightweight(7kg) aluminium ladder which was damaged when it fell I needed to replace the ladder with something a bit better. I had seen adds for transforma ladder and noted from all other reviews you will either love or hate this ladder. The cost of the ladder is too high but because I got a lot of extras such as the paint roller, extra pair of hands and the work platforms I was prepared to pay the price on a time payment basis with a 10% discount so I on...
Read morely had to outlay $256 initially to get the monster delivered. In fact it was the work platforms mainly that attracted me to the ladder. I read the reviews and listened to the advertising statements. I asked the TV Shop sales person about the weight of both the T24 and T35 there was little difference in weight 19.6 kg and the other 20kg. So I decided on the T35 180Kg version because I weigh about 130kg. When it arrived in a big box it took two people to lift into house. The weight is added by the accessories (work platforms, wall standoff, leg levellers). I dragged the box onto back deck could not pull ladder out of box due to my limited strength so I pulled box apart and then removed accessories except the cheese grater platforms as the were tucked into the ladder steps with a large plastic cover over the ladder. I levered the ladder up on to its feet and ripped off the plastic, removed work platforms then started to open the ladder the top clips clicked into place. however they were stiff to push in so had to hit them with heel of my palms to work them to close the ladder in preparation for extending the ladder.. At this stage I was wondering why I got fooled like others thinking it was going to be easy. I pulled out the side clips and tried to lift the ladder insert up to extend the ladder I found the weight too much. So I decided to look at instructions and view the DVD. Surprise you can extend it by leaning the ladder to one side or the other this was much easier than in the upright position. Well so far I am impressed with features and accessories but like others I am not sure the weight is going to make it easy to move around. Already I am thinking to make a platform for my hand trolley so I can shift it around my yard. After I have used it a while I will return here to write more review notes. Others who are in my age bracket have stated in their review that it makes it easy to change light globes and do repairs etc. My House has high raked ceilings and I am hoping that it will help with the cleaning of cobwebs and repairs to lights etc.???Questions & Answers
