I bought Rimskins for my car. Confirmed the model of my Car and ordered them. Unfortunately my msg wheels do not allow for rimskins to fit so requested a refund as the pack were unopened. Just got the usual “check our website for returns - they do not refund @ if they do cause of a manufacturing fault they charge 20% restocking fee. Would not deal with this company again and certainly would not recommend.
Purchased in May 2021 for $50.00.
terrible products and terrible seller (rimskins)... they don't back up their products at all ... save yourself money and buy the $8.99 online and works much better.... you need plastic not rubber as rubber is too soft
Purchased in December 2020 for $56.95.
Warranty means nothing!
Bought heaps of skins from them. Rim skin didn’t last long for a number of occasions. I asked them to send one under warranty. No response just completely ignored. Never buy from them ever.
Purchased in June 2020 for $60.00.
Absolute Trash Product and "Company"
I just wanted to let you all know to stay clear, do not waste your money. Read all the other review and you will see for yourself! Here is why. Basically they don't stick. I purchased the Acetone and prepped the wheels for hours like the Nicholas said, followed ALL INSTRUCTIONS, and within 2 days they fell off. Absolutely let down after wasting so much money on what coasts about a dollar to make. I have not been offered a refund or a replacement.
Purchased for $60.00.
Dont stick to rim
Followed the instructions and one feel off with 20 mins of 1st drive the other 10 mins complete waste of money. Look great if they stuck on the rim. Save your money
Purchased in July 2019 at eBay for $56.00.
One word "PATHETIC". A total nightmare to deal with. Never again after being promised to receive a refund after sending back their faulty product. Surely customers are their after thought.
Purchased in July 2018 for $60.00.
Don't waste your money on these pieces of crap they stick and look good for about a week then they lose their stick where they join and start falling off they also pull the clear coat off your rims and when you contact them about it they try and blame your rims and don't accept any responsibility and are very rude to deal with
Horrible to deal with
Product is of poor quality i did not even attempted to put it on . Rubber is tacky tape wont stick seller very hostile and rude. Asked for a refund after returning in new unused box . Unfortunately got a rude unhelpful response and have to claim thru PayPal. Please don't waste your money.
I just wanted to let you all know to stay clear, do not waste your money. Here is why. Basically they don't stick..... for long. Clean the rim as much as you like, mine were brand new. Following the instructions, I washed them before fitting the rimskins. Used a rag to wipe them clean, used their special wipes. The wipes were clean after running them around the rims. Within two weeks one wheel started showing signs of the product coming loose. A week later and a second wheel started. I contacted the company for advice. They advised i re-clean t...he rim, use a heat gun to re-activate the glue and stick them back down. I did that but it was only effective for another week. On my next country trip I lost the whole rimskin off one wheel on the way and another on the way back. I now have a third wheel that is showing signs of the rimskin coming loose. I contacted the company for a refund. No go. First they blamed the failure on the new rims which they say have a special coating. Really? I've had the car for more than a month and it's been driven and washed several times. The instructions and product information never mention anything about problems with new rims. Then they blamed silicone contamination? Again The instructions and product information never mention anything about problems with silicone contamination, No mention of how silicone contamination could occur or even that it has to be avoided. Could it be caused by car polish, petrol spill, tyre shine, brake fluid, brake dust? If so then the product is not suitable for purpose. The best offer they could come up with for me to post a sample back to them, offering to test for silicone contamination and if they found no sign of contamination they'd send me another set for free. Needless to say I didn't take up this offer, not wanting to loose more money on postage for a product that doesn't last. Not to mention the potential for paint and body damage when the product flies off at 110km/h. Additionally, the strip is soft plastic. It really won't stop damage except for the lightest grazing. I haven't tested this but have a look at them if you see them. You'll understand what I mean.
Didn't even stick on application
I tried to apply rimskins on my SRT. Following instructions on the video. The first 15 cm stuck then it started peeling off on its own. Didn't even start trying on the other three. Waste of money. BTW. I'm a stonemason, good with my hands and instructions.
If rimskins wants to put their money where their mouth is... they are welcome to prove me wrong.
They don't work
Just hit a gutter whilst parking, literally just rolling, the rimskins tore off and my mag is scratched there crap. Buyer beware. I would never invest in this product again. I was dismayed that it ripped in half rap crap production am
So upset I invested in these. Crap.
Great idea, terrible product.
I purchased a set of these and installed them on my car without much difficulty. Instructions were clear and they seemed to stick quite reasonably. The instructions specifically state that they're only meant to provide protection in low-speed incidents, such as parallel parking. In my case, they didn't offer much protection: scraped a bit during a parallel park and there was quite a bit of damage as the rubber of the Rimskin simply wore through.
The worst part comes after: on that same day, after driving away from my amateurish parallel park..., the Rimskin on that wheel eventually became partially loose and started flapping about violently, hitting the wheel arch and side-panel. I was able to quickly pull over to yank it off completely. A quick visual inspection after parallel parking didn't suggest that the Rimskin was about to fall off, even after the scrape. Physically inspecting it (giving it a prod?) probably would've been more effective in determining whether it was loose, but who wants to go around touching the sides of all their four wheels before driving? In spite of the Rimskin flapping about and hitting the side of my car, there wasn't any damage (fortunately!), probably due to the fact that I was driving fairly slowly. Of course, when I got home, I inspected the Rimskins on the other three wheels to see if the adhesive was holding up, even if they hadn't incurred any gutter rash. Turns out: not quite so! There were segments of failing adhesive, which certainly wasn't the case when I installed them (which was about two months ago). I wasn't prepared to have them partially fail and flap about while driving, so I yanked them off as well (to their credit, the adhesive leaves residue that is easily removable). I can only surmise that the adhesive used isn't particularly durable and can't withstand elements very well. They had been on the wheel rim for about a month, through the heat and the wet, before the glue started failing. Consumers are - I think - better off simply accepting that gutter rash is an inevitable part of owning a car. Investing in a bit of mindfulness when parking and accepting the cost for wheel refinishing (when the gutter rash becomes unsightly) is a far less costly option than to continuously replace Rimskins and/or to repair the damage that they cause when they inevitably come loose while driving (as other reviewers have indicated).
Product Sucks Customer Service No goodl
I purchased the rim protectors and installed all five that came in the package three of which would not stay on. One of those came off completely and in the process it rotated many times damaging my car paint and my tire pressure sensor. It left marks on my car and my tire pressure sensor started giving erroneous readings. I've never had any problems with my tire pressure monitor until immediately after the rim protector came off and obviously slapped it around. The marks had to be vigorously buffer which probably damaged the clear coat.
They would not refund my money. I would not recommended this product.
having just got my first set of 18" rims for my ute, i was very concerned about putting them into a gutter parking, mainly as this is my daily driven car.
after following all the instructions to a tee, and viewing the instructional video on the website, i decided to only fit it to One wheel, as the Finish was Terrible, and so i left it.
now 5 days after fitting traveling to work at 80Kph, the Rimskin came off, but not before it flapped around violently taking my side indicator off and braking it, and also scuffing the paint on my 1/4 panel.... i would exercise ex-stream caution using this product. it has been quite an expensive experiment for me. RimSkin: rrp: $49.95, (actually paid $40-) New indicator: $20- Cut and Polish of damaged panel: $40 in product and my time. Very Disappointed

I have been very happy with mine and they have saved me a couple of times for sure.
I am however having troubles with them all starting to come unstuck on all my wheels, not just the ones where they were knocked.
I read in some of your replies regarding this issue that you would fit them properly if we came in?
I'm happy to buy another set but would really appreciate help installing them properly so I'm wondering if this is possible in Sydney NSW?
