Rinnai Integrated Heat Pump RIN250EHP has been discontinued and replaced by Rinnai Enviroflo Heat Pump.
When the pump moving water from the Solar Panel to the tank stopped working I found it only had a one year warranty. Other items with the same one year warranty are:- system controllers, sensors, thermostats, valves, electric heating elements and anodes where applicable. This information is very misleading in the warranty information, which at first inspection, states that All Other Components have 3 Year warranty other than the Heater Exchanger 12 Years. A THREE WARRANTY WOOULD BE FAIR
Purchased in June 2019 at Fallon solutions for $7,617.08.
Words cannot really describe the problems we have had with this unit. We installed this system in November 2012 and every winter because of its flawed design water gets into the system and causes the system to shutdown leaving us without hot water for up to 4 or 5 days. Recently we called Rinnai to book a service call as we could no longer put up with this debacle. When the serviceman arrived he was unaware that it was a Heat Pump and therefore advised us that he was not qualified to service it which is a bit of a problem when you have been wit...hout hot water for 4 days and he is the only service rep for Rinnai that services our town which is located 100 kms from Adelaide. Whilst he was here he did at least suction out some of the water which had collected inside the fan section which temporarily fixed the problem even though he was not licensed to service this unit which is a definite no, no by the company. Even though he wasn't licensed to fix the unit and was unable to test the unit to determine if this issue was caused by some other fault Rinnai still charged us a call out and service fee totalling $195.00. After some to and froing with Consumer Affairs they decided it might be in their best interests not to charge us a call out/service fee. Since then we have replaced this piece of the proverbial with a Rheem Electric Storage Unit which is working beautifully. So after spending $4,000 on a heat pump that has given us problems year in year out I can only now warn people to keep clear of heat pumps. You should also be aware that this unit is 100% identical to the Dux Heat Pump which has had hundreds of negative reviews posted. This unit would have come out of the same factory as the Dux with the only difference being the badging. So be warned people stay away from Heat Pumps.
