Near new keeps stopping
So is mine. 15hrs use and it's now popping, backfiring, surging then stops. Driving me mad. Mows for 2 minutes then stops. Have flushed fuel. Cleaned tank. Check cap vent, changed plugs, changed coil, changed fuel filter....about to trade this piece of crap
Purchased in June 2020 for $2,499.00.

Mini ride er reverse
Can anyone tell me - will this mower cut in reverse and if so how can I get it to do so. One reviewer said he had to tweak it to get it to cut in reverse - how ??? It's a nuisance to have to disengage the cutter everytime I want to go in reverse.
Purchased in May 2020.

Excellent cut for a small ride-on but.....
Good turning circle, cuts as good as a push mower, ideal for up to an acre but has developed a reluctance to run for more than 15 minutes.
Only 40 hours in 18 months, so not a lot of use, property has a gentle slope and I have replaced the original fuel filter with a clear one. When the engine miss starts starts, I can see the fuel is really low in the filter even when tank is almost full.
Fuel is gravity fed and I have noticed other recent comments along similar lines so am wondering if rover have a fix?
Purchased in July 2018 at Stihl Dealer for $2,500.00.

Great for large blocks
I live on basically half an acre suburban Melbourne. Mowing was done with a mulcher which was OK when I was younger. It was a big job. Took over an hour. Now I'm 58 so I thought I'd get the Rover Mini ride on. I got the manual version, and maybe for the xtra $400, should have got the auto, but the manual is lighter and does the job very well. I had to "tweak up" the mower a bit so I can cut backwards and get off without the engine stopping. Only real negative is that the oil plug and outlet is very, very badly located. Its in a very hard locati...
Read moreon to get to-absolutely NOT user friendly- very, very dumb place. I had to modify this outlet with an extension so I could easily run the oil out. Apart from that, the mower does a good job. I still have to use the hand mower to get into corners and tight spaces under trees etc. But overall, It was a good purchase for the price of $1800.Purchased in October 2018 at local Rover dealer for $1,800.00.

Great little mower
This is the second Rover mini-rider that I've bought. The first was for a 2 acre property on the Gold Coast that was undulating with some rough grass at the bottom. My new property is a 1 acre property, again fairly steep with a wooded area to the rear. The Rover mini-rider is the best bet for these tricky mini-acreages because it easily navigates around trees and other obstacles with a tight turning circle. It's surprisingly robust and able to take knocks when running over rocks. The engineering is really simple so anyone can operate one of th...
Read moreese. Every time I go to use it, the mower starts first time (even after quite a long break). At under $2K it's worth having one of these over a push mower. I manage to do the whole property in an hour. If you had a property that was unimpeded by trees you could cut that time in half.Purchased in December 2018 at Tandem Lawnmowers for $1,999.00.

Down on power especially in reverse, otherwise a good product.
My Rover Mini Rider Hydro is now around 3 years old - purchased from KC Machinery Co in Lismore NSW 2480. I mow a 780m2 mixed grass block, which is mainly on the level - but also have a 20degree tilted council nature-strip to the road that cannot be mowed by the MIni for safety reasons - [well over 11 degrees.] Have to use my self-propelled Rover 'Personal Pace' for that task. Cuts in reverse and this is a bonus. The M/Rider is quite able to "jump" a 5" path with cutter off/highest deck setting for the front lawn . It will also just fit through...
Read more our front gate! Power in reverse is poor even on gentle slopes/paving stone edges. Turning circle is good. I can mow this block x3 times on one fill of 95octane fuel and a bit to spare. Fuel tank "window" is handy. First servicing was relatively expensive at around $340, including $50 for transport around 2km back/forward to this dealer in South Lismore. Overall a good product and not over-priced. The foot-brake is difficult to use as it is too high - needs to be on before being able to start. Reverse/Forward pedal better designed. Recommended for light duty/back-yard use. [Note: I weigh 100Kg - this mover definitely needs a V-twin engine for more power on reverse operation.]Purchased in October 2017.

Hi, we have replaced the belt on the mini rider and now it won’t cut, when you engage the blade it dies down.

Hi Sherrie
You haven’t put the belt on the middle spindle properly, when you engage the cutter it should push the belt to tighten hence engaging the blades .
Lolsasked
Do I have to engage reverse with key every time I want to reverse
