how do i remove cutting deck on my rover rancher 42 inch cut ride on mower?
show me a video on how to remove mower deck please
My rover rancher seems sluggish when i press on the accelerator cable. If I press too hard it nearly stops. And I press it lightly it seems to go ok but has trouble going up am incline. I think the accelerator cable may be stretched. Does anyone know the part number as my manual and the net have not been helpful in this regard. Regards: Keith
There is not enough information provided in relation to the model of the mower. Ranchers were produced in friction drive, variable transmission and hydrostatic models.
It’s a rancher 1742 and it was purchased in 2013. Checking the user manual it refers to hydrostatic drive. So the pedal controls the speed going forward and in reverse. Hope this helps
Dont know much regarding the mowers but if it has a fuel filter maybe check its not blockd or try purchasing your fuel else where to test if its the issue
Yes it has a fuel filter, so I will try that as well. Thanks for your help.
I have A ROVER 17/42 with a Kohler engine.
Couldn't start the thing, kept flooding.
Tried to locate the spark plug with no success.
Anyone know where the plug is located? Do I have to remove the top plastic cover from the engine?
Bob
G'day Bob, mines a 20 hp twin, the plugs on mine are either side of the motor and in plain view. Check that choke is not stuck in the closed position
Hi Roscoe,
Thanks for your help. much appreciated.
Unfortunately the problem was the coil, no idea of the cost as the dealer is ordering one for my Ride on.
Cheers
Bob
I own a Rover Rancher 17/42.
Had a puncture, removed the single bolt from the rear wheel but cant get the wheel off. Have tried almost everything, hammers, timber no go, the wheel is not coming off.

gypsy26@bigpond.net.au Can anyone help please please?
I haven't had my Rancher for two years now but if I recall correctly, the centre nut holds a hub onto the axle with a tapered fitting. To get the wheel off I don't think I removed that nut but undid four studs that held the rim onto the hub. Of course yours may be different but I do remember that I took the wheels into have the tyres replaced and there was no drama removing them.
Loosen the nut and go cut some grass it should loosen but don't cut too much grass.
