Big piece of crap
First motor blew up under 100 hours had to fight dealer to get warranty sad there was no oil in it cause there wasn't had a big crap hole in the side of it. No heat on remains of big end. Has thrown belt since day one. Should have got another John Deere.
Has cost more to repair and service than it did to buy.
Does ok on open flat lawn, totally useless in tight spaces as well as on undulations and rises.
Lately it has been breaking down every second use and is almost impossible to repair myself. It stalls mowing back over lawn cuttings. Absolute rubbish product.
Biggest buggbear is the lack of maneuverability and inability to just reverse without having to disengage the blades.
Already ordered a replacement (from a different dealer) and will be selling this ASAP, making sure the purchaser knows not to use it on anything other than smooth, flat, unobstructed lawns.
Purchased in March 2017 for $2,500.00.
What a heap if crap brought it brand new used it 3 times belt has broken each time grass is low ground level
Grass low level ground mower is crap broken 3 belts in 3 uses battery went dead I wouldn't have got this mower if I had known how much of a shot box it is time to go to depart of fair trading it's a hoke
Purchased in December 2018 for $3,400.00.
Bad design. A money suck!
Bad design. Mower belt keeps popping out & is impossible to put it back in place without professional tools. Seat is too slippery and throws you off on turns.Problems from day one.
Purchased in October 2016 at Mortons machinery for $3,200.00.
Great mower Great value
Great mower, the hydro on the handle is great no foot cramping just like a cruise control, very good finish on the lawn. Blades are cheap. That engine has awsome power! and who can beat 5 year warranty. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a reasonably priced mower.
So Far, so good
We bought our Rover from a very keen dealer / repair shop in Mt Gambier and so far it has been a brilliant little thing. The dealer did a pre-delivery check for us right before our eyes and made sure everything worked as it should and we took it home to our one acre lawn.
The dealer was very informative and very specific on the do's and dont's of the mower (don't cut the grass on the lowest setting as it will wear the deck out a lot quicker, don't let the grass become a hay paddock between mowings, change the oil after the first 10 hours et...c etc) In terms of build quality, it is on par or better with mowers that I have used back in NZ - Homelite, Victa, and one who's brand I cannot remember for the life of me that had an ABS plastic body that literally cracked and fell apart within three years. Overall, given it's relatively low purchase price for what it is I would rate it as a good value purchase.
