RSPCA Pet Insurance General Accident & Illness Cover
AnneGreater Melbourne (Inner), VIC
Disappointing
I have been with RSPCA with my 2 dogs for many years.
As a first time claiment I found it very difficult to get claim sorted.
I wasn't able to get it done until I spoke with someone to cancel my account with RSPCA.
This was most helpful .

Too hard to make a claim
Policy was easy enough to set up however 3 months to process a claim was not impressive then to be asked for the same vet history on 2nd claim is ridiculous which is still yet to be processed. They are not clear in their email the information required & I have had to ring on multiple occasions to get confirmation to what was actually wanted.

Too expensive
It cost us too much money for what we get back in rebates, not good value!!!!!
The process is not easy to make claims and the website is not user friendly.

Still waiting for my reimbursement
Made a claim for the surgical removal of a lump found under the tongue of my pet.

Claim approved and a cheque got sent. Somehow the street number of my home address was missing on your portal and hence I did not receive the cheque
Contacted your service team who were very helpful. Name was Juanita and was instructed to upload bank details on the portal and that a stop payment on the cheque would be made and once processed I would be reimbursed to my bank account. I was happy with this outcome
2 days after this I get an email stati...
Read moreng the cheque mail has been sent back to sender and asking what I would want done further. I forwarded communication from Juanita which explained that I would get reimbursed to bank account instead. No reply to this Today I received an email saying cheque has been posted to my home address again? To top it off the home address still doesn’t have the street number on it (even though I updated it along with my bank acc details)4 comments

Too many hoops to jump through in order to get a claim processed.
Setting up was easy and its no problem taking my money but when you have to pay you make it very hard. There are way too many hoops to jump through to get a claim accepted.

Not flexible
Not good value for money. Completely inflexible, have been with them for approx 16 years. Although easy to submit claims, the premiums are extortion, I pay more for pet insurance than I do my own health insurance. I wouldn't recommend.

Slow to reimburse. Difficult over phone
While they are quick with reminders to pay premiums, the process of getting a claim reimbursed has been tedious. They did not email, message or call me when either info war required, despite this being my 'preference', I only discovered this by logging onto the portal- Then weeks later got a letter asking the same thing which by then had already been done. Over the phone I was told no assessors work over the Christmas and New year holiday period (in home, health or other insurance this would be unheard of i'm sure), so further delays there. Now...
Read more, 10 days into the new year, and almost a month since the initial claim was made I have still seen no reimbursement. I will be looking into other companies to provide this service in a more timely manner. Edit: following this review, I was contacted via the resolution team and had my claim fast tracked. Whilst I am grateful for this, I shouldn't have to go to this length to get a claim reimbursed almost a month after the initial claim was lodged. Better communication needed from start of process if efficiency, and customer satistfaction is a priority for RSPCA2 comments

I have constantly had to ring and chase and still haven't been paid final amount.
As above.
I have constantly had to ring and chase up claim and still have not been paid final amount. Just ridiculous and sick of ringing weekly. And that's all
