ELECTROCUTION HAZARD

published

After 3 weeks of use (maybe 10-15 total uses) the air fryer has started shooting sparks and black smoke from within. MAJOR HAZARD! Please do not purchase

Excessive smoke! Don't buy it!

published

The air fryer does cook well but our 3rd time we cooked 2 small lamb chops and the smoke was unbelievable! Set off the smoke alarms and will not use it again. This was replacing a $90 kmart air fryer which never ever smoked in the 3 years we had it so I'm taking back the Russell Hobbs and getting another kmart one! Don't waste your time or money on this RH air fryer

Purchased in for $179.

Replacement airfryer same problems !

published

Onto second airfryer after the original was replaced. Again lots of smoke and then randomly stops working. Russel Hobbs will replace again but really I just want a product that does it’s job. Pro - looks good.

Should be recalled for safety reasons

published

Product produces way too much smoke, filled our home with smoke even after 3mins use ... even electrical smoke. Triggered smoke alarm. Flimsy build eg the tinny feeling basket. Very very disappointing Russell Hobbs. Would not recommend. Positives: great looking product.

Cooks but flimsy construction

published

The basket and handle don’t slide easily into the oven and flex easily giving a flimsy feel.

Cools well. V hot air comes from vent so needs placing away from any plastic. E.g. plug sockets.

Started falling apart quickly, failed entirely after 5 months

published

One of the legs fell off a week after we got it. More bits fell off regularly, and it stopped working entirely before 6 months were up. Emailed warranty 4 weeks ago and got no reply at all. Absolutely disgusting product and customer 'service'. Flybuys, where we purchased it, did not reply to us either.

Purchased in at Flybuys for $165.

Initially impressed but failed after 6 months

published

Purchased with Flybuys
Great size and cooks really well. Very impressed at first although it did generate more smoke than my previous air fryer.

Unfortunately the unit has stopped turning on when the drawer is inserted and no longer operated.
I am in the process of returning the item now.

Purchased in at FlyBuys for $150.

Dead after 4 month of use

published

Like many other people, we had smoke when cooking, and the non sticky coat is coming off in so many places that most of what we cook now is sticking to the basket.
And to top it off, it has stopped working altogether. My wife is taking it back to Big W, but we cant find the receipt. We really didn't think it would fail this fast.

Purchased in at Big W Retail Stores for $150.

Bad product

published

After few usages, the black rubber stopper broke off.
And every time I try cooking pork belly, lots of smoke coming out and triggers the smoke alarm.
Previously I had a cheap generic brand airfryer that only cost $90 and never had any problems with smoke when cooking pork belly.

Don't want to remember life pre airfryer

published

Did not hold high hopes as I was guided toward much more expensive units, but this thing has been just great.

Quiet, fast and easy to clean. Makes solo-parent dinner nights a breeze for quick proteins.

My only quibble - the fan is so powerful it blows even heavier items around in the tray sometimes. Makes for excellent food normally, but youre not going to be doing those viral egg toast recipes without some vessel to stop the egg being vaporised.

Going to procure one for the office kitchen this week.

Purchased in at The Good Guys for $148.

Have a brand new Russell Hobbs airfyer have used it 3 times thought it was going to catch fire tonight, smoke pouring out of it setting fire alarms off all 3 times I've used it. Had to turn it off half way through cooking a single layer of polenta chips tonight with no grease or meat to be seen. Has anyone returned theirs for a refund due to this insane white smoke pouring out
