Started off ok but now not so good!
My Toaster is usually only used once per day by myself to toast 2 crumpets for breakfast.
I started off ok & the crumpets would pop up when cooked & I was extremely happy but after approx 3 weeks, the crumpets stopped popping up.
The lever seems to be getting stiffer & stiffer. Even the manual lifting of the lever does not work & I have to carefully turn it off at the power point & stick my finger in & try not to get burnt.
Despite cleaning the toaster after every couple of uses, there is no food stuck inside or any reason for the lever issu...
worst toaster I have ever owned!
Toast had to be turned manually as major uneven toasting from day one. Heat slider control calibrated so anything put in the top half of slider position would guarantee burning.....:"the lets burn it position". Stopped working 9mths after purchase. The company seem more interested in the paint finish than its ability to toast properly.
Piece of junk!
Just two weeks old and its broken!. I have read poor reviews on other RH products but not this one.....The carriage stayed locked down with 'toast' inside. Eventually I managed to get the bread out. It has maybe been 10 times in the two weeks since purchased Steer clear of this useless product!
Hopeless toaster but looks pretty
Toaster lasted seven months. Bought a candy apple red Chelsea with matching kettle from Harvey Norman half price in a sale. Never used RH before but it was a bargain. It was almost impossible to cook toast evenly both sides. The external surface of the machine was burning hot. It was way too easy to accidentally knock the browning slide button. This week it's just stopped working altogether. Very disappointed. Not worth getting a new one under two year warranty, will just switch brands. Next time won't choose a flimsy toaster based on a pretty color.
Most evenly cooking toaster we've owned
A toaster should be pretty simple to get right. Cook evenly, efficiently and quickly, last long enough to get your money's worth. Those two things are all most of us ask for.
Well, I can't speak to this toaster's longevity, we've only had it three months. We bought it, having owned almost exclusively Sunbeam toasters, after getting sick of an ever decreasing lifespan of that brand and another one dying. We've had other Russell Hobbs appliance that went the distance so figured it was time to add the toaster to that list.
What a revelation...! It cooks evenly, all the way across and in both sides. It does it quickly, about half the time of it's predecessor. Now all we need is for it to last twice the manufacturer's warranty and all will be good!
