Very good little machine
I had this for about six months, the purpose is to smash food for little baby. It works well, easy to clean, and using less energy than the other. It is not expensive and I highly recommend this machine.
Very good device.
Works very well, just got to watch out for the blades - very sharp, as I found out
The attachments can be a bit fiddely but on the whole I find the chopper works well.
Not very powerful
Easy to clean glass bowl means it can be washed clean without retaining odour or flavours and ready to use again after a quick rinse, easy to use, good on soft items but lacking in power to chop nuts etc. It seems to overheat quickly and speed seems to have slowed since new. Have had this unit for only a few weeks and initially it ground nuts to a paste easily, I used it for processing frozen fruits to make icecream, small batches of cake batter, pesto, bread and biscuit crumbs and vegies but now it is slower than before and nuts are not ground...as finely as before and it struggles to make peanut paste. The food gets pushed to edges and base so you have to stop and move the food manually (you need to operate it in short bursts so its not really a problem). The simple push to operate action has become tempermental, and using it in short bursts still makes the unit hot and the motor smells occasionally. I am however impressed with this unit for basic quick chops and mixes it takes up little space, is not complicated and very practical and convenient. The price was the selling point and to be honest it is still value for money. Warranty on cheaper items is nice but they have to be returned/posted to manufacturer/supplier at a cost so return is not viable option for most so I am happy to keep unit for this reason, but will probably get a more powerful unit to better meet all my processing needs but that means getting a bulkier unit with more bits and pieces and probably a plastic bowl. They should have put a larger motor in this one, then it would have been perfect.
Love this little chopper!
I bought this chopper/food processor at Target for $49.00. I live in a small apartment with very limited space so I needed a smaller unit. This gadget will be used over and over.
Questions & Answers
Hi my toddler pushed the glass bowl off the counter this afternoon and it has shattered. Is it possible to buy a replacement part?
Can you make nut butters with this machine?
Hi Karen B, no you couldn't make nut butters with this machine. The blades aren't sharp enough nor do they go fast enough. I don't think the manufacturers would even say it could.
The only machine I know of (and I have one) is a Thermomix, that can definitely make nut butters.
I use my Thermomix for a lot of my cooking, but this chopper comes in handy when I'm NOT using Thermi and I want to chop up garlic, chillies, onions, herbs etc. , for when I'm using my big stock pot or fry pan.
Hope this helps, Bye.
