Ryanair Customer Service
We booked 5 Ryanair flights throughout Europe. As our flight from Australia was cancelled we phoned Ryanair in Ireland and asked if we could be refunded. The customer service operator said no and before we could ask if we could have a credit voucher instead of a refund he hung up. So now we have to wait and see if Ryanair cancel / change the flights or times. The customer service is disgraceful as Ryanair have made is so difficult.
A very poor, hidden-cost-ridden airline
So you are an experienced international flyer? Flown with cheapo airlines the world over? Does not matter. Ryan air is something different. Make sure you read everything they send you from start to finish. Go online and read every single word of their terms and conditions (this is their come back line). Check out You tube for third party 'how to survive Ryan Air' videos. Worst check-in I have ever experienced. £20 to print a single boarding pass for a non-EU passport holder (what happened to the paper free concept?) This boarding pass did not e...ven scan when we went through security and my wife had to be let through manually. £55 extra each if you do not check-in online using their app 2 hrs before take off. Loads of people got scammed with that one. You cannot check in for 'free' within 2 hours of the flight. Angry and bemused passengers all around us being threatened by Ryan Air staff with being thrown off the flight. This is not one or two people seething... it is almost everyone who had not watched those you tube videos. I noticed that non-EU flyers (I assume) were the most upset because their passports, like my wife's, are non-compliant with the Ryan Air paper free system. I am also sure this is the first time they have been treated like this and have been part of such an inefficent shambles. First time for us certainly. Rude and uncaring ground staff. At one point my wife's passport was left lying on the conveyer belt in between desks while we walked to the back of yet another line. I had to go back and ask them to secure it properly. During all this time five other members of staff were there clustered together off to the side watching the chaos without helping. I am telling you that after going through the different lines for the various Ryan Air money-grabbing processes security was a pleasure. I remember that at one point we were sat on the the plane wondering if there was a charge to use the toilet, ha ha ha. A very poor, hidden-cost-ridden airline.
We have budget airlines in this part of the world (Aus), but nothing compares to Ryanair.
We paid Euro$45 for a boarding card. Apparently this is the RULE which was not on my ticket from Aus, there was nobody there to speak with, the message from the agent as simply Pay the fee or don't get on the plane !!!
Safe planes, competent aircrew and cheap prices can't beat appalling customer service on the ground
We flew Ryanair from London Stanstead to Marseille. We had no complaints with the actual flight, or the aircrew and the price was good. However the check in process at Stanstead is a nightmare. The airport is crowded, there are not enough signs and the queues are unbelievable. We stood in what we thought was the right queue (there was no one to ask) only to be told after an hour that it was the wrong queue. Not just told but practically abused and more or less told to get lost. When we found the "right" queue we waited another hour only to find the check in person spoke very little English (even though we were in England) If you are going to fly with this mob make sure you allow lots of time because you will need it!

You get what you pay for
I took a flight from Munich to Dublin by Ryan Air an Irish cheap airline in June 2014. You have to take a bus from Munich Central railway Station and it takes about an 1and 1/2 hrs to get there to Memmingen airport. It is advertised as Munich West. It is no where Munich. It also advertises very cheaply but as you go online they offer you all the extras. ie insurance seat allocation. All offers are optional. The flight was on time. All food onboard has to be paid for.
