Perfect For Smaller Jobs
Sometimes, bigger is not better - this tool proves it. It's light, maneuverable and easy to use but still has enough power to get through smaller leaves / branches.
I think that any branches bigger than 5mm would be a bit of a challenge for it, but for small bushes / hedges / shrubs it is the perfect tool. Especially if they are high and you don't want to be lugging a heavy hedge trimmer above you head.
One thing that does worry me about it is the safety. If ever I am going to lose a finger in an accident, it won't be from something cool like...a motorbike crash or a helicopter blade, it will be from this tool. One of it's upsides - maneuverability - is also one of it's downsides. It would be very easy to accidentally swing it around too quickly and have an accident. Apart from that little concern, I love this tool.

What A Little Gem!
This is the absolute must have garden tool. Absolutely love it. It is light enough to handle easily and without fear that I am going to hurt myself because it is too heavy or awkward for me to handle safely. It is dead easy to use and to swap out the two blades and to remove and replace the battery. it is light enough to handle easily and I find I can operate it just as easily with my left hand as my right (and my left hand generally is pretty useless).
The short attachment I use it to trim around my stepping stones, my circular garden beds,...under the fence. It gives me the control to get into weird tight spaces that the whipper snipper cant manage and doesn't risk beating up the woodwork or bricks. I also use it as a bit of a trencher to dig around tiny areas that a bigger machine wouldn't be able to cope with, especially curved areas, so you get that nice demarcation between the grass and the edge. The longer one is great for my ornamental figs to keep in that nice round shape. I tried with the full sized hedger and just couldn't manage. This little one is wonderful, although it is limited once the branches get too thick. It lops of thin ones though with ease. It has quickly become my absolute favourite garden tool and couldn't manage without it now. The battery outlasts my stamina and I find I usually have had enough long before it runs out. There is also the peace of mind Ryobi warranty - they have been absolutely excellent previously.,
Bought this smaller one from Bunnings so I didn't have to always use the Ryobi 3 Kg (heavy) electric one.
Have used it on both a box hedge and Pittosporum silver sheen hedge. In both cases it did not cut cleanly but actually tore the tip of the hedge I was trimming. I would like to take it back to Bunnings for a refund but like so many purchases from Bunnings, am unable to locate the receipt. Today I purchased the next level up in the cordless Ryobi hedge trimmer which comes with what looks to be stainless or milled steel blades unlike the painted metal ones on this smaller one. Can not recommend this unless maybe you just want to put the grass shears on and trim your lawn edges.

This Ryobi One+ 18V Cordless Hedge Trimmer - Skin Only
I/N: 3380840 is simply awesome.
We were shocked at how powerful this is even compared to our last corded hedge trimmer..... this is just incredible.
Having arthritis I needed something light and easy to use but powerful enough and this has been fantastic.
