Great Battery Powered Device.
This wipper snipper is a great battery powered device.
I note that it has been discontinued. I have no idea why, because its great. I have been using it for over a year and its still as good as the first day I used it.
Excellent cutting power through Buffalo Lawn. Quick charging battery that holds it charge.
Good Line trimmer for residential use
Ryobi One+ has a great range of cordless power garden tools. I was leaning towards buying a cordless line trimmer because I already had li-ion battery from the drill but had my doubts regarding the performance. The guy at bunnings gave it a 8/10 performance rating for residential block and that was enough for me to pick it up. Honestly, I am very happy with the purchase after using it just once as this was powerful enough to slice through weeds as well !! I am yet to reload the nylon and find the instructions insufficient. Will be taking it to ...bunnings to get some help reloading the nylon !! Full charge lasted for about an hour but it is recommended not to use these continuously for more than 15-20 mins as the electric motor may get burnt from the heat. Waiting to add more to my Ryobi One + tool range and tempted to upgrade to 4.0 AH battery.
Great for a residential block
I needed a replacement for an old petrol trimmer but didn't really want the bulk of another petrol model or the hassle of mixing 2-stroke. Once I got the hang of using it (the line feeds automatically when the head stops rotating), the Ryobi is proving to be a great choice with one charge on the 4.0Ah being good enough for getting around our medium-sized block twice (at least 1 hour total).
Light and easy to handle, one charge was enough to cover my lawn at least twice. The ability to easily rotate the head through 90 degrees is also handy, a...
Ryobi CLT 1830 Line trimmer
This review is for the Ryobi CLT1830 line trimmer. Cons... I threw out a working Black and Decker because it wouldn't auto feed out the line. I was told by the salesman The Ryobi would. Maybe it does to some extent but way to slow to be of any use. I have a small section that takes 15minutes to mow. The line jams doesn't feed and the snaps off and disappears inside the head. Very frustrating I now feel like throwing this away and I hate throwing away equipment that works.
Pros...Great battery life light to handle easy to use, not to noisey. ...
Great Little Trimmer
Just bought this trimmer from Bunnings because I'm sick of mixing fuel for my old 2 stroke trimmer which was hard to start and never ran well.
Anyway charged up the battery to full and trimmed all my lawns and front nature strip no problems. Just over an hour to do the lot. I was pretty surprised how good it worked. Love the swivel head for edging too. For $188 bucks I reckon is a great cordless trimmer. Now to buy some more +one ryobi garden tools :)
Cordless, Cheap, Quite, Swivel head for edging, Battery fits other Ryobi tools.
None at this stage.
4.0Ah Last for a full blast 50mins
Not bad for a Line Trimmer, I have never own a electric line trimmer before. Nor a petrol one. I jump straight to this with the 4.0AH battery. All these products are good by themselves. It's the battery thats doing the job. Don't waste time on those old Nicad battery. Only use Lithium ion type. This new type of batteries will never disappoint you. Bought this to do up a place with no electricity. Perfect.
Battery Last for reasonable amount of time. about 1hour
The hybrid version which can plugin, is available in US not sold in australia
Great value for Money
I wish I purchased this instead of the Ozito in the 1st place. I had a petrol unit, that was always difficult to start, and always needed untangling. This unit automatically feeds, the nylon, and so far has hardly jammed. Nylon refills are available, that make the process even easier. I purchased this as the battery/charger goes with my other Ryobi tools.
March 1st 2015 Update:
It has worked quite well, however, like another user, I have had issues with the RAC127 spools. I bought a RAC1204 replacement spool which worked better. Today I pur...
