What a terrible experience dealing with SA Quality Home Improvements is turning into.
People who know me know that i never complain but.......
How can a company add $6,000 to a contract after you sign and pay the deposit!!!!
It turns out the Salesman who has been in the job for 6 months has underestimated the job, left out two down pipes, concrete drilling plus underestimated the scaffolding after measuring twice.
This is according to their builder who added the costs two weeks later.
Then the general manager agrees to void the contract and return your deposit.
We paid $2,200 and we received only $1,000 back without any discussion....The general manager must be very busy as for four days didnt have time or decency to return my phone calls.

[Name Removed] arrived to see me and took two thousand dollars out of my home and provided nothing. Shed to be built for an autistic childs special needs. Because he is non verbal, he walked all over him. Wont refund. His excuse was it cost me more in paperwork than paid. When waited for nearly 3 months.
It was a 36000 thousand dollar job. He is a lowlife. Takes people for a ride then rips them off big time. [Name Removed] you should hang your fat head in shame.

Terrible after sales service and leaking roof
We chose SA Quality Home Improvements (SAQHI) because we had a large room (13 metres x 5 metres) that had a sun tuff roof that needed replacing, but retaining the vaulted look and the rafters. SAQHI had the contract to provide a product called Solar Span which are insulated panels which were only available through them at the time. The job went badly right from the beginning. The rafters had to be sliced off, but after they had done a few we realised that they were being left jagged and looking terrible. We asked them to stop while we asked t...he supervisor about this. Care factor zero from the supervisor who told the workers to continue and said they would fill in the jagged ends with wood glue which is what they did. My husband actually asked him to leave as he was so unwilling to correct this work and he was so cross with them. The rafters are pretty terrible. They left such a mess I had to get up and down on a ladder to clean off all the finger marks left on the panels. I twisted my knee doing this as it is such a large room. Part of the job involved the replacement of the original gutters and downpipes and also the installation of an extra box gutter. When it rained heavily the house gutter overflowed along the full length of the room, like a waterfall, through the ceiling., completely flooding the room and saturating the carpet. They didnt put in enough down pipes to allow the water to drain away before overflowing the gutter. They did come and fix this, but surely they should have known this as they are builders. They should have repaired the ceiling, but we couldn't be bothered to ask them to do that as they were hard to work with. Now a few years later, the gutter still leaks in a couple of spots and due to the ongoing dampness we have lichen growing on the inside of the panels and this is eating away the paint. We have contacted SAQHI and someone came out to look at it. He said he would come back in 2 weeks time with someone who had been involved in the job. We did not hear from them again. Well since then despite numerous phone calls and even visiting them, they will not speak to us. Dealing with this company is like trying to catch a Will O the Wisp. The strategy is either to promise that someone (Vin or Vincent) will call us back, which never happens or being so vague you wonder if the staff member is actually all there. Vin never returns our calls but they don't have the courage to say up front that they will not fix our roof. They won't allow us to make an appointment to see this Vin person either. It is a war of attrition, they just wear you down by being utterly unresponsive and ignoring you. Read the rest of the reviews. If you are willing to take the risk and lucky enough to get a good job, you will be fine, but as there is a high chance that you won't be happy you will get no help or support or repairs from this company. My strong advice would be go elsewhere and dont chance it. Although we had some years before the leaks, surely an expensive job would be expected to last longer than this. It is so frustrating that we cannot have any sort of dialogue with them. It is still within the warranty period.
Had this company out to quote for a new roof. The rep was polite and professional but the quote was about $50 short of DOUBLE the company we are going with for the same service and materials. It definitely pays to shop around
Happy with the work but terrible customer service
I paid the deposit in February but the plans for my veranda were not lodged into council by the company for 6 weeks with no explanation. The whole process took 14 weeks and I had to ring several times and had the start date changed 4 times. The customer service and communication was sadly lacking, so my suggestion is that once your deposit is paid you will have to continually ring them to ensure your job is done in a reasonable time. The workmen who did the job were efficient and I am happy with the finished product. It was only an 8mtr. x 3mtr. flat roofed veranda so I would think very carefully before using this company for anything large or complicated.
Poor values and principles.
SA Quality Home Improvements were the roofing and guttering contractor for a residential medium density project we built in metropolitan Adelaide. During construction, we had a substantial leak and since hand-over, a further 3 leaks have been identified. SA Quality Home Improvements have failed to reimburse our expense to rectify the defects resulting from their sub-standard workmanship. SA Quality Home Improvements construction manager refuses to return our phone calls or reply to our emails. Needless to say, we have not and will not use SA Qu...ality Home Improvements again as the values and principles you would expect from a reputable business are non-existent. Flooding roof won’t fix properly
You left my 75 year old pensioner mother with a roof that doesn’t just leak, it floods! After forking out $32K for a new roof, one would expect a full repair to the mistake your team made not just trying to bandaid it with silicone. Deplorable!!
Was quoted for a fence and sliding gate, fine, paid the deposit. It arrived and it was terrible quality, a manager came out, took photos. A month later the panels were taken to be repaired but the gate wasn’t. The panels were so bad they had to start again. Panels have been replaced two months after they were taken, the gate is still there are won’t be replaced because it’s “not as bad”. They still want me to pay the full price and interest even though I didn’t have a finished quality product.

All I asked for was a deck quote. Went into sales office, sat and spoke to salesman, showed him the drawings my house builder had made (had to explain how scaled architectural drawings work - split lines etc, not a good thing considering this company build things).
The salesman stated I would receive a quote within a week.
6 weeks later I am still waiting. At 3 weeks not hearing anything, I sent an email asking how they are going and if they are still interested in quoting.

Can never get a straight answer from them
Paid cash to have my fence replaced and was told it will be done in a few weeks , then after that when ever I make quires to when the job will start I keep getting the usual someone will give me a call tomorrow and as we all know tomorrow never comes , it's been a month now , so today I rang again and was told someone will call me back in about an hour , the call never come of cause , an hour before closing I rang again , the receptionist was going to try to pass me over to the bloke but I told her out of frustration just to get me a commence...ment date and call me back .. she instead put me on hold , spoke to the gentleman in question on my behalf and told me the job wont start for at least another 3 weeks and the gentleman will call me tomorrow to hammer out the details . If no call is received I will be demanding a full refund and making a complaint to the consumer ombudsman

Terrible work which takes long time . I bought a pergola with a curve in the middle and two flat parts at the sides of it.The workers couldn't join 3 parts (a pole, flat part, curve) together propely.Some parts goes a forward some is cutting short and some even not to connect to each other. The work is not accurate and gutters still not covered in the place where curve is. Engineer asked for additional pay.I don't know who did mistakes or installation people or engineer but both were pretending that how it supposed to be even when I showed som...e pictures from their display. Beside this, when we ordered our pergola they promised any collor avalable but after we paid a deposit they told our color not available. Never again I buy from them.I can't bring this pergola back to them now, so be careful to choose a company.Pay more but do not buy pergola from them!

We have had endless problems with one of the re-roof jobs undertaken by QHI. Leaking around the wood heater flue, incorrectly fitted gutter which still leaks after several "silicon bog" attempts by QHI, a damaging leak through a hole in the ridge capping and over cut scribing allowing water to enter on windy rain events (Let alone the risk in fire danger season which the additional money spent with QHI is meant to reduce the risk of), Water entry has Damaged ceiling and Ceiling fan.

Warranty - What Warranty
I have purchased two products from Sa Quality. The first being a verandah the second being Roller Shutters. I have had problems from day dealing with them clowns and when trying to lodge a warranty claim on their workmen ship and a claim to have my shutters replaced after a rain storm destroyed them and not so much as a dent on my neighbours shutters the owner has stopped his staff from speaking to me and he refuses to take my calls. I have spent $14,000 with them and hopefully once you read this post you won't make the same mistake.
July 17...th 2017 Update: Warranty WHAT WARRANTY? I have had two dealings with Sa Quality Home Improvements. I first had a verandah installed them Roller Blinds. The owner of this company is the mouth piece when something goes wrong and his approach is the same every time a problem occurs and refuses to deal with it until you go away and even to the point of instructing his staff to have no contact and gives instructions to hang up on you when you call. I am sure there is a number of companies around Adelaide that operate in a correct manner but believe me Sa Quality is not one of them. Do yourself a favour and stay away.
Really bad service and job
8 months ago SA Quality Home Improvements quoted us for a front fence, pedestrian gate, sliding gate and intercom system. They weren't the cheapest but we felt they would do a good job. The job finally got started despite delay after delay. The fence wasn't erected in a timely fashion. When it was finally completed the sliding gate was too wide and slid in front of the pedestrian gate, the sliding gate came off its track damaging the powder coating, the pedestrian gate was too narrow, had unreasonable gaps and swung both ways making it unable t...o lock in position, the hinges were installed upside down, the panels were't level with the post and the fence panels didn't matchup horizontally. To get the works done we took several days off work and on 4 occasions no one turned up. One excuse was that the gate was too heavy for one man to lift - so why not arrange 2 men or why not cancel in advance so we didn't lose time from work? Finally, bit by bit issues were rectified. However the intercom no longer works and the locking system on the gate doesn't work. Again in consultation with the coordinator we rearranged our day to accommodate them. However in typical style they did not turn up without notifying us. When confronted my husband was advised we had got the arrangements wrong. Not so. My husband copied and pasted the conformation text which was very clear. So they don't even accept accountability. We have not yet been able to enjoy the new fence as pieces of it have been missing or not working. It is only about a 9 metre wide job and in this time a whole house - complete with fence has been built in our street. There has been no project management. Hopefully the intercom will be fixed but I say do not choose SA Quality Home Improvements - there is no service delivery and poor work standards.
