Great all-round phone

Pros:

- Good battery life (if you disable Samsung's bloatware & limit background processes)
- Nice design
- Regular software updates & patches
- Very accurate Fingerprint ID scanner (without a screen protector)
- Gorgeous screen clarity & picture

it was great at the beginning, not anymore
i was very excited when i bought this premium samsung galaxy phone.
It has been almost a year and battery doesn't last like in the beginning.
It overheats sometimes
And it is definitely slower compared to the beginning

Great phone - optus plan
Great phone
Fast charging
Good size to keep in pocket
Camera is awesome, battery life is good. Only bad charging wire is the negative point, and headphones are pretty low quality for a $1400 phones.

One of the Best but not Perfect
I was excited to receive the phone and began to use it immediately. I like how the design and how light and comfortable it is to use with one hand. The camera is awesome and brings in a lot of strong features like presets (instagram, panorama, slow motion, time lapse, etc.) and a way to test out the pro manual settings. The front and back cameras take decent photos even at night. One thing I noticed recently after several updates received from Samsung is that the camera became sluggish and would often become unresponsive. You'd have to wait for...Read more
a while and then it will respond. The screen is good for watching online streaming. Battery usually lasts for a whole day with heavy use. Some of the things I noticed with prolonged use is that the battery sometimes feel hot from continued use. Power sharing is also a hit and miss. It sometimes work and when it does it is slow. I tried sharing power with my partner and my battery almost drained and my partner only got as much as 4% after half an hour! The fingerprint sensor is usually good but lately have become sluggish and would not allow me access however I position my finger as per setup. Backing it up requires a lot of space. I wish Samsung would develop an incremental way of backing things up instead of creating new files every time. Overall, I still like the phone over iPhone because it's packed with features and sharing capabilities (as any Android phone) but it could still be better. Samsung Galaxy has come along way but still is far from being the perfect mobile device.Purchased in November 2019.

Battery battery battey
My S10 is about a month old now, I run face book, occasional you tube vid at most two 10 minute vids, no net flix etc. and gmail. I woke with 100% battery this morning and every morning 2.5 hours later I am at 40% battery I wonder what it will be like in 2 years?

Good not perfect
I was holding out upgrading my S6 Edge until Sammy came out with an in-display camera, but had to content with the punch hole. I would have gone with the S10 if not for the additional camera. The S10+ is a very good phone and a fantastic all-rounder. After almost 6 months of use I am impressed with it but not blown away.
Pros:
Fantastic display
Very good battery life
As powerful as it gets
Good night mode (not great, but good)
Very good overall camera

Oh the in-display fingerprint. It is a total let down, so much for the fancy ultrasound scanner. Could have just gone with optical. Love the color, very lightweight and waterproof is good, amazing camera.
Extremely reliable phone, the ability to transfer battery life to other phones is great and the battery lasts quite a long time. The colors are by far the best samsung have brought out.. the issue is that this product is too lite weight, far to easy to drop and I'm positive the glass is not as strong as the note... size is good, software is quick! Great brightness options. Security key is too tight too mock location, very epic device.

Got the mobile, went through standard first time startup setup, finally finished after at max 45min, and the mobile goes to black screen of death. So a brand new mobile has to be sent back for repairs!! So i have to wait 3 days for them to send a bag for me to send the mobile back, and that will take a further 3 days for them to get it, then however long it takes to fix the mobile and send it back to me. I read and watched around 50 reviews for this mobile and not one of them mentioned this fault, yet a quick google of “samsung s10 black screen...Read more
” i think shows that this is a big problem for these mobiles. Got the mobile back about 2 weeks after i first sent it away, the mobile has been working ever since without issue. Its been i little trickier to get used to with finding settings that aren’t where they would be on iphone, sometimes i have to search for the setting i want. But other than that the mobile does everything a mobile should do and as it was a lot cheaper than the iphone at the time it was the better choice.Purchased in July 2019 at Optus online.

Poor outcome when a problem arises
My Galaxy S10+ exhibited a problem in answering more than half of my phone calls. More than half my calls went to voicemail. With Samsung Customer Service advice I tested my sim in another phone, it proved that the phone had a problem. They advised me that I could take the phone back to JB hifi for warranty repair. JB hifi said that the phone may be away for up to six weeks. A while later I got a call that I must pay for a screen glass replacement before it would be fixed.
Although Samsung charge Apple equivalent prices their Customer Service ...Read more

Love my phone
Beautiful phone, works well and super fast. However I do note that the camera effect is a bit 'fish-bowled' even on the 1:1 ratio and is not clear on 3rd party apps (Whatsapp,Facebook) but it might just need me to re-jig my settings. Battery life is great and screen colours are fantastic.

One of the best android phones
Very high quality phone, with great cameras, large battery and a massive screen. The fingerprint reader is average, regular fingerprint readers are faster and more accurate. However the curved screen causes lots of accidental screen touches and distorts image slightly on the sides.

Great phone with some drawbacks
Screen: the best screen on a smartphone. Resolution is crisp and the brightness is more than you'll ever need. Can see everything perfectly outdoors.
Battery: you're reading this on an Australian website so unfortunately you've been cursed with the Samsung made CPU instead of the superior Qualcomm CPU. If you've used both models, you'll definitely notice the difference in battery life. That's not to say the Australian model is bad, it lasts me a whole day from 9am to 10pm with moderate use. It however could be a lot better.
Camera: great ca...Read more
mera if there's sufficient light. Samsung really dropped the ball with Google and Huawei taking far superior photos in low light situations. Fingerprint sensor: utterly useless. Yes it's more secure than the technology that companies such as Xiaomi and Huawei use, it also fails to scan your finger half the time too. Ergonomics: this really irritated me when I first got the phone. It feels great in the hand but if you're not using a case then expect a lot of accidental touches. Its almost impossible to type without a case as a slight tap on the screen from your hand results in errors. Samsung has an app to fix this however I didn't find it overly helpful or useful. You shouldn't need an app to fix bad hardware decisions. One UI: one UI is the software experience offered by Samsung. It still manages to drop a lot of frames and is a laggy mess of an experience, even on a high end device like this. Coming from an iPhone 8, I didn't feel my money was well spent on this phone. That was until I installed another launcher.Purchased in February 2019 at Samsung Online store for $1,500.00.

Questions & Answers
Jacinta J.asked
my new galaxy s10+ had a software download which I did, and when prompted to add pin to re-open phone it said incorrect pin. now I cannot even turn off the phone without using a pin. I was told to go to my nearest Samsung store which was 2 hours away, so not an option. poor technical service. my provider was more help, in the end it was deemed a fault in the software so a new phone is on its way. is this a common problem??

I’m sorry to hear about your experience Jacinta, it’s certainly not the customer experience we strive for.
We would requiem the phone to be brought into one of our Samsung Studio in order to look further into this for you and I’m sorry that we don’t have one in your area.
I’m glad to hear that you were able to get this resolved but please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if there are any issues in the future.
Our best point of contact is to send us a PM on Facebook with a copy of this review and some more information.
