Easy to use, decent memory with the ability to add storage. Battery is great unless watching videos or playing games all day! Syncs well with my phone and laptop. Can run multiple things with no issues. The screen is a great size and is very clear. Don't need to have it set to bright which also helps with conserving the battery.
I was luck enough to win this tablet a couple of years ago when purchasing a Samsung smart tv from the Good Guys.
I am a fan of Samsung having the TV and my 3rd phone and never had an issue. The tablet has been a problem from day one as it takes an eternity to load when searching the internet and often seizes and sits there spooling requiring a soft reboot I have removed most of the apps and have done a factory reboot a number of times to no avail. I have compared this unit to my sons IPad of similar age and the Ipad is lightning fast in compar...

Great value for money. Not super fast or super touch friendly
Great value for money. Don't put a screen protector on it as it will make it very touch unfriendly.
Unfortunately there is no feedback when you click something to show that its thinking. An hourglass or something would be great, otherwise you will find yourself clicking things again as nothing appears to be happening. Perhaps future updates of the OS will fix this.
My advice is to try before you buy.
And it hangs regularly.
Having tried a Sony (more expensive though) since, I would buy the Sony over this as it is faster and has better to...
Not happy Jan
Bought the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 and had a year of OK use. When it was 13 months old, the SIM reader stopped working and I had just paid for another 12 months of pre paid with Telstra. Warranty was only for 12 months so couldn't get it fixed/replaced under warranty and Telstra won't refund for prepaid. What a waste of money!!!
When it worked, it was OK
Only lasted for 12 months
My brother gave his tablet to my 4 year old after his ipad 2 screen cracked near the top. Now after having the ipad2 another hand me down I must say the ipad slightly shines compared to the samsung tablet. I am not a big apple fan as I find them a rip off but the wifi is sooo much faster on the ipad as compared to the samsung. I would prefer to watch youtube on the ipad2 rather than on the samsung. And just remembering what the android apps are like compared to the quality of the apps to itunes.
Picture quality, cheap apps, upsize memory
Wifi slow, android apps less quality
Cant live without it
This tablet has changed my life. Its a great gaget. I am not into the "ï" thing.
I wanted a large screen, it takes great photos, storage is large & easy. The size of the keyboard on screen is great.
The best thing I would say is the battery life. It last forever!
The battery life
Worse Product ever made
This tablet is slower than my old PC which was running on 128mb Ram..
You will struggle to have more than 2 applications open at any given time. It always shows full ram usage when only 1 app is open however when you go to task manager it shows only small percentage of usage.
By far the worst thing I own.
I didn't buy this I won it and I will be selling it in favour of am iPad.
This is rubbish.
Do not waste your money.
Everything, slow, unrealiable , constant freezing, shutting down
Am loving it
I got in to get a Galaxy Tab 2 about two weeks before the Tab 3 was released. I was upgrading from an Optus 7 inch MyTab. Its a huge upgrade, I didnt see much benefit of waiting for the Tab 3, plus the tab 3 is costing about $100 more.
I love the Tab 2, great for playing games with a dual core processor. I mainly use it for the internet, its very convenient to use compared to my laptop. I really like how by default it loads the actual webpage, not the mobile site. My old tablet defaulted to the mobile site, which is generally pretty bad. I w...as able to download Flash for it from the Adobe archives too. As you would expect (despite not being with a carrier), it is loaded with Samsung bloatware which cant be uninstalled. Considering my wifi tab only has 16gb, having so much preinstalled rubbish that i wont use is annoying. Coupled with the fact that with ICS, you cannot move apps to the SD card on a tablet. I will be mainly using it for video, so I will use SD storage for that. It uses a proprietary connector, but it goes to a USB. It would have been better just to have a micro usb in the tablet itself. It cant be charged from USB, but the battery life is excellent.
I upgraded from a motorola xoom to this samsung galaxy tab 2, its very similar to the xoom so wasnt too hard to adjust too, its light in weight and easy to hold. I do like this tablet although at first when i got it it was very frustrating because i couldnt log into my outlook account, a friend then toldme to turn off the predictive text, lo nd behold i could then log into outlook.com. It can also be a tad slow in response and sometimes it just opens up tabs when i didnt even press on anything, but its something i can deal with.
inexpensive, lightweight, crisp and clear screen, good battery life
a tad slow in response time,
Never Buy Samsung! Bought A Lemon & No One Helped Me!
Samsung sell poor quality products in international airports that aren't covered by international warranty and they do not provide after sales service. I recently bought a brand new Samsung Galaxy Tablet 2 10.1 in the Panama International Airport. The shop was legitimate and the tablet looked great and I was very excited with my new purchase. The happiness did not last long. I used the tablet a few times only for 0.5-1 hour at a time. A few days later I was in Miami using the internet and the tablet crashed. It will not turn on at all and I hav...e tried to reset and charge it. When it crashed I tried contacting Samsung over the internet via "chat" and the person informed me that it was a UK model and he did not have the model in his system and could not help me. I was returning to Australia a couple of days later so when I got home I tried to contact Samsung Australia with a warranty/repair form that you submit on their website. 10 days later they still had not replied. I went back online and tried to chat to a Samsung person over the internet who would not help me but he gave me a phone number. So I rang the phone number and the person said the tablet was not covered by Warranty in Australia. The tablet is brand new still in the protective plastic. So I have spent $550 on a tablet that I had for a total usage time of about 10 hours before it broke! No one at Samsung will help me. When I bought the product at the international duty free shop (passing through the airport) the Samsung dealer did also not inform me that the warranty is not covered in Australia when I was clearly passing through the airport. I don't see why an international airport the size of Samsung would not help me just because I have changed location. They should not sell their dodgy products in an International airport. When I purchased the tablet I was trying to decide between an Ipad, a Sony tablet or this one and I chose the WRONG choice. Samsung :( I will not be buying a Samsung again. Sure they might be good products for a couple of hours but they aren't made with quality controls, obviously, and nobody will help you. The visual effects were pretty cool until it crashed and didn't turn back on It crashed after a few hours so I wasted my time and money
Slow and sometimes unresponsive.
I bought one from the Goodguys and returned it 2 days later. Compared to other tablets (iPad and Nexus 10) this one is pretty ordinary. While you can buy one quite cheaply right now, you're better off spending a little more for something better.
I found the screen to be of average quality (crispness and clarity) but the most annoying thing for me was that is was often slow to respond, even when just scrolling a website or clicking on a link. Other than that its a decent tablet if you can put up with it. I have an iPad 4 for work and its just...so much better. Luckily The Good Guys were happy to refund my money. I just ordered a Google Nexus 10 from the Google Play store, hopefully it will be better. Cheap, Fairly easy to use Often slow to respond, screen quality isn't great
This tablet is a lemon
I wasn't very impressed with them because I bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 about 6 months ago but it was scratched with marks on it also I haven't been able to use it at all because the touch screen is bad for my eczema so avoid this product at all costs.
The touch screen was unreliable
Great bit of kit....but the Note is allot better
I bought the tab to take the load off my aging laptop that was getting hot after an hour of use. As I used my laptop mainly for surfing the net and talking to my fiancee over skype now, a tablet was a natural progression.
I bought an android based tablet for the flexibilty of apps and sharing.....and I hate itunes. The tab is heaps better for surfing the net, and I use wifi hot spot to teather it to my phone. The tab appears to use allot less of my download limit than the laptop did as it appears to freeze running apps opposed to the keepi...
Some little issues, but otherwise happy
I bought this 4 weeks ago, to have with me when I travel for work. I wanted it so I can read books, check facebook, play some games, and generally use it with hotel wi-fi when available, all those things not really advisable to do on a secure work laptop. I bought the 16 gb version which I was told can take up to a 32 gb micro SD card. I bought the Belkin case for it a few days later. It adds a bit to the weight, but gives good protection and is a nifty little stand to prop it up on your lap.
I was told by the chap in Good Guys that is c...hargeable by USB - it's not, and it does state this quite clearly in the manual. You have to have the wall charger. The advantage is the wall charger is attached to the USB cable so you only need one cable; it can handle 110-220 volts, so ok for Oz and overseas. It charges quite quickly. Screen - lovely and clear, the colours are bright. Sensitive to touch, so I occasionally end up somewhere I wasn't intending to go. OS - ok, I'm used to it because I have the Samsung galaxy phone, and to all intents and purposes it works the same. Books - I've downloaded a few books from my e-reader supply to it. I'll either be taking my Sony ereader, or just tolerating the screen - the backlit screen is not ideal for reading a book, and I end up with sore eyes and a bit of a headache from it. The ereader is much softer on the eyes when reading for long periods.
Overpriced ,low on features,Dont bother with ANDROID on Tablets.Unable to move apps to SD card
I bought this for the kids to go on the internet and play Android games.
First thing I didn't know was that after Android 3.0 Google removed the ability to move apps to SD card. What is the use of having the SD card ?Only movie and photos can be stored on SD card.
I thought Android 4.0 + would be ok. Nope I was wrong.
Android still has the permissions problem where apps access your private info.
I feel uncomfortable with that.
The tablet itself seems quite good.
No mini usb or other ports. You need to buy more accessories for these.
Android apps spoil it as some can't be terminated and some still keep coming back hogging the memory. ...
Tab 2 10.1 review
Pretty good for the price. However, it uses very old chipset and it can be very sluggish at times. Kids love it. Battery is ok. The only way to efficiantly use this dated hardware is with rooted android 4.1.1 locked at max speed of 1008 Mhz and good Ad blocker. Otherwise the experience can be too painful.
Very old hardware that hasn't changed compared to the original tab 10.1
The tablet that you need
I wanted to avoid Apple products because, everyone has one, so I looked at all other tablets and found the Samsung to be the best in all fields.
I chose the 16gb internal memory model which has the capacity to add a 32gb micro card to it for extra storage. This gives you massive storage capacity and you can buy as many micro cards as you want to store differing information, one for photo's, one for videos, one for data etc.
I have purchased a book on line through google play store, this was easy to download by the way, no having to go throug...
I love this tablet, because this is cheap but can experience latest os: Jellybean!!!. Samsung is the biggest brand in Korea and their service is quite faster than other manufacturers!! With SD card slots, can not feel any uncomfortable from the lack of storage capacity. Just bit low resolution and core speed are bit sorry about this product. But it is still one of the best tablet!!!!
Cheap, SD card expension slot, Jelly bean OS
low screen resolution, and slow cpu
We got these as christmas presents as we were going on a cruise, and wanted to put ebooks on them. I got the wifi and my other half got the 3g model. We already have galaxy 3 phones, so it's quite natural to use to us, and there's so many apps and games available :)
Our cruise sucked, so they got a huge workout, I bought a 16gig micro card for it, and was able to easily hold 7000 books on it. The only thing with that many books is that if you wanted to pick it up and quickly take a photo it wouldn't as it would scan the files first if it was ...

Questions & Answers
can i use the applications like microsoft word, excel and powerpoint in the samsung galaxy tab 2 10.1?
I have an application on it called Documents to go by dataviz, it uses doc, ppt, xls,and pdf file types. I've only used it for word documents, and I've emailed it to my desktop and it opens fine. I think it cost me about $3 by memory.
